"For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord." - Jude 1:4

He does not owe the followers any explanation rather he owes the elders of the church or fellow pastors. Reason: for the sake of those who are not yet strong in the Lord as it can affect their faith.

100% trash.

If he is at all a Christian, then he owes an apology not just to Coza but to the entire body of Christ in Nigeria.

"God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say, "You must remove the evil person from among you." - 1 Corinthians 5:13

to make matters worse, if such a person is to continue in office despite this issue, it depicts a hardness of heart and nonchalant attitude to the things of God.

He owes them an explanation. If he has done what he's accused of, it has already affected the faith of many...both mature and new christians. The least he could do is say something.

You know what, you don't use the Holy Bible to justify sinfulness. In all your examples, there's no mention of a New Testament minister involved in a sexual scandal.

http://premiumtimesng.com/news/143428-coza-abuja-senior-pastor-embroiled-in-sexual-scandal.html

The Commonwealth of God Assembly, COZA, pastor is yet to officially react to the allegation.

Traffic around luxury Thisday Dome where Commonwealth of God Assembly, (COZA) holds services was unusually light Sunday morning.

The long fleet of expensive cars parked by congregants had been replaced by few cars and a handful of loitering congregants. It looked as if life had been scrapped from the hitherto bustling church.

This was not unexpected.

In the last few days, the church’s Senior Pastor has been entangled in an allegation of infidelity with a former member of the church that has snowballed into a huge sexual scandal that many say might destabilise the church.

Ese Walter

Ese Walter
Barely 48 hours after a former female congregant and worker of the COZA, Ese Walter, confessed to having had an affair with the church’s Senior Pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo, another former female member has come out with claims of her alleged encounter with the pastor in a hotel in Lagos.

Ms. Walter had sent social media alight after she alleged in a blog post that she had a week-long sexual relationship with the pastor during his London visit.

According to Ms. Walter, after arranging for a taxi to pick up Mr. Fatoyinbo from the airport during his visit to London, the pastor invited her to his hotel and offered her alcohol.

“You don’t have to be shy Ese, even if it’s alcohol, feel free and order what you want,” she claimed the pastor said.

Subsequently, she said, Mr. Fatoyinbo invited her to sit on his laps. When she hesitated, she claimed the pastor told her to relax saying: “feel free Ese.”

According to her, they kissed and soon were embroiled in a week-long amorous affair that left Ms. Walter feeling abused and manipulated.

Ms. Walter alleged that Mr. Fatoyinbo had dismissed the guilt she had, saying: “I will teach you a level of grace that you don’t understand.”

Ms. Walter, who admitted that the relationship was consensual, however said she felt “abused and manipulated” by Mr. Fatoyinbo and the fleeting manner the church’s leadership handled the affair after she raised it with another pastor in the church.

She said she went public with the story when she could no longer withstand the “psychological abuse.”

“I made an effort to reach out to him because I realized the right thing to do was talk to an elder in the church and seek some sort of remedy to a wrong I believed had been done me. Instead, Pastor Flo said Pastor Biodun had confessed to him and they had ‘talked’ about it and somehow that was supposed to be OK. He asked what it was I wanted coming to talk to him about it when I did, I told him I realized what happened between Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo and I was wrong and not just that I felt abused and manipulated. I also said I thought it was wrong for Pastor Biodun to go on preaching without taking time to deal with his personal character flaws. I said I thought he was danger to all the young women that attended the church.”

In a narration that is close to that described by Ms. Walter, Franca (the second female) has described how close she came to being led into a sexual relationship with the embattled pastor. Franca claimed the pastor, under the pretext of doing some computer based work for him, lured her into Wheatbaker Hotel, Lagos.

According to Franca, when she resisted Mr. Fatoyinbo’s advances, he rebuked her for acting like a “small illiterate uneducated girl.” She claimed in order to convince her to sleep with him Mr. Fatoyinbo had described his wife as a “postcard…pretty on the outside but flat and empty upstairs. He said sex with her was like having sex with a cold dead fish.”

She claimed Mr. Fatoyinbo, whom she described as “randy goat with a deflated erection”, left her after she threatened to accuse him of rape.

Franca claims she has recordings and pictures taken from the hotel as proof of the encounter and threatens to publish it if the Pastor denies the incident.

An alleged incorrigible philanderer, Mr. Fatoyinbo is no stranger to alleged sexual waywardness. From the inception of the church in Ilorin, the pastor, who the church’s official website describes as “a preacher with uncommon prophetic insight into the word” has been trailed by allegations after allegations of unbridled sexual advances to female congregants.

In one case in Ilorin, it was alleged that he had sexual relationship with two sisters to the point of impregnating one of them. Nothing came out this allegation.

In another of such allegation Mr Fatoyinbo, was accused of having an amorous relationship with a married woman.

The pastor who has also been described as a “power dresser” for his love of smart and designer outfits runs the Abuja headquarters of COZA with his wife Modele.

Its congregants are mostly young, educated, hip, and stylishly dressed. It also runs live webcasts of its services.
Online Scandal

The allegation has spiralled into a massive scandal on social media. While some have called for caution asking people to wait for Mr. Fatoyinbo’s version of the alleged affair, others have dismissed Ms. Walter as loose and attention-seeking.

Some others have taking to satirising the entire affair. Innuendoes such as “www.anotherlevelofgrace.co.za,” “Henny and coke” and “come and sit on my lap” among the most popular.

A Facebook page “Stop This Abuse in the Name of God Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo” already has over a hundred likes.

Mr. Fatoyinbo is yet to officially respond to the allegation, but the Twitter timeline of some congregants at the church suggest he gave a peripheral mention of the scandal during service.

“I’m sure you read a lot about me on twitter and social networks. You can’t imagine how many people have called me,” tweeted Seun Salami (@SeunWrites) quoting the pastor.

The pastor however concluded his sermon by saying: “when we asked God, God said be quiet. Thank you!”

It is hard to tell whether that was an indication that he will never respond to the allegation.

Read what she has to say below

This Ese Walter's story is true. I was introduced to the church in Abuja by my childhood friend, who moved to Abuja from Calabar two years before I did. When I joined, she was also a PCU worker. I really felt welcome in the church up until my friend started having problems with other women.

She told me it was because Pastor Biodun trusted her with so many official things even above workers that were there before her. I believed her until the day she had an misunderstanding with another worker who called her ‘Ashewo Mary Magdalene’ in the church.

After that, her enthusiasm for church started waning while mine was getting stronger till the day she told me she was leaving the church and shortly after she left. By that time, Pastor Biodun had developed an interest in counseling me and then started telling me to take my friend's place as a PCU worker.

I was reluctant because I didn't feel like coming to church early and leaving late but Pastor biodun assured me that his personal driver will pick me and drop me off and so I agreed. I started work as arranged but after a while, I noticed that the pastor did not respect personal space when talking to me when we were alone.

He would stand soooooo close and rub my upper arms or my back which made me very uncomfortable. The final straw was when he said I should go with him to Lagos to take notes and transfer same online immediately for some Pentecostal thing he was attending and he knew I was very computer literate.

I was excited till we reached Lagos and I realized that only one room was booked at the Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi. Of course I complained and the Pastor called the front desk (or pretended to) to demand for another room. He said they would call back when the room was ready.

He then told me to help massage his back because he has back ache from sitting on the flight. I said I was tired since it was already after 8. He then insisted I lay down on the bed to rest while waiting.

I said I preferred to sit at the desk and he laughed saying that I was acting like a small girl or a village uneducated girl. He went in to take a shower.

I then called the front desk to remind then about the extra room. I wasn’t surprised when I was told that they had vacant rooms and that nobody had requested for an extra room. By this time, I knew what was up and was ready for the fool.

I opened his pouch and saw his wallet which had his license. Took a picture of the wallet and the License on the pillow on the bed with my head in the shot. I opened the door and took several pictures of myself, the wallet and the License with the room number. Came back in, once I heard the shower stop, I started audio recording on my BB. He came out with a towel around his waist and started telling me how attracted he was to me.

He said many derogatory things about his wife, calling her a postcard, pretty on the outside but flat and empty upstairs. He said sex with her was like having sex with a cold dead fish, he tried to kiss me and I stood up, picked up my travelling bag, moved to the door, opened it and quickly took a picture of him, standing with a towel around him. He started begging.

I called him all sorts of names and insisted he gives me money for a separate room or I would scream ’rape’. To cut a long story short, he asked me to shut the door, I refused, he brought out 2 bundles of N1000 and asked me to delete before he gives me the money. I told him he was in no position to negotiate. Got the money, left the Randy goat with a deflated erection and checked into another room.

First thing the next morning, I left for ABJ. By the way, remember my childhood friend that introduced me to COZA? I narrated my experience to her and she confessed that she was sleeping with Biodun for over a year, even on his marital bed when his wife travelled.

Oga Pastor, try and deny my story publicly and see American wonder…. I still have the pictures and our conversation on tape. Thank God for technology!!!!!!

ichamentor: Good points you have raised here @op...but you failed to point out that there is one common thing inall these examples you outlined...and that is, there was a general knowledge about what had happened..that is, people knew the truth...Mariam and Aaron and the Israelites knew what Moses had done...it was open and there was no attempt to hide it or deny it....So with the other cases you mentioned...So basically, there is a difference here, no matter how little or obscure it may seem

This analysis is wrong. mariam raised the ethnic card. Moses had married the woman before he started his ministry. He went back to egypt with a family Ex 4:20.

After leading them out of Egypt, she wanted to sieze power by raising the Jewish purity card, and that is why she was judged. The lord can rebuke his servants by any medium. Before God there all men are created equal.

1.Who is a man of God?

Someone who has the call of God upon his/her life to serve in ministry as listed in
Ephesians 4:11-12
And he gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
for the perfecting of the saints, unto the work of ministering, unto the building up of the body of Christ

but in a generic sense, every christain is a man of God. So I can see a fellow christain and greet “good moring MOG”

2.How do you recognize who God has called?

Matthew 7:16-17
Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves. By their fruits ye shall know them

Someone who God has called has the anointing of God upon his life, now ALL CHRISTIANS have the anointing of God upon them but there is this extra anointing that has been given to those that have been called into ministry to perform the duties of such office. As listed in

Ephesian 4:11-12, A pastor, apostle etc require a special grace, anointing to work in that office. Now a pastor is first a Christian before he is a pastor. So the anointing of God upon his life is not for him but for the work he has been called to do, his flock. For things to work out for him in his personal life he has to apply his Christian faith.

That’s why sometimes they can pray for someone without necessarily believing in that prayer or even doubt but the person receives answer because he/she believed in that office of the prophet
Another example is the case of Elisha,
2kings 13:14-21
Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died: and Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over him, and said, My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and the horsemen thereof!
Vs 21
And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and as soon as the man touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.

the bible says that Elisha fell sick and died, yet when a dead man touched his bones, the anointing revived the dead man. Why couldn’t the anointing that he carried in his bones work for him(there are several variables to the answer to this question)

the last physical example I will give is the president of any country, he is first a citizen of the country before being a president. And by the virtue of that office there are certain privileges and powers conferred on him by the constitution because of that office that no other fellow citizen can have. Just because of that office

so you recognize a man of God by the anointing of God upon his life, the fruits he produces and most importantly his message in accordance with the word of God. Someone can then ask how do I know that his message is in line with Gods words or his fruits are being produced by spirit of God and not diabolical powers? That’s where you walk with the holy spirit comes in.

the bible has told us that there will be false prophets and we have to discern them. One of the gifts of the holy spirit is the discerning of spirit.
One quick and basic way of knowing, though it’s kinda of streamlined is found in
1 john 4:1-3
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but prove the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
1Jn 4:3 and every spirit that confesseth not Jesus is not of God: and this is the spirit of the antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it cometh; and now it is in the world already.

There are many more…..

talking about fruits, one has to be careful, that a christain sinned is an the issue, other issues spring up will be what did he do after that? did he ask for forgiveness etc
so its not enough to say because someone is sinning or has sinned, the person is no longer a christain!!

3.Judgement will start from where
Off course judgement for christain leaders will be different from other folks because they
1.Were given an anointing, enablement for that office
2.Had more knowledge of Gods plan, purpose and will
3.Were given a flock to manage and to guide into Gods kingdom so they must give account of all that…..

4.Confessing of sins
When you sin you should confess your sins before God and sometimes man, depending on the situation at hand.

1 john 1:8-10
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

But that you didn’t ask for forgiveness, doesn’t mean you will not be forgiven, it depends, come to think of it. How many you go fit confess?? Sins of inaction, sins of action, sin of thoughts etc taking verse 8 of the above scripture in mind

Re: A different View on COZA Sex Scandal by Kollins12: 1:05pm On Aug 27, 2013
therealMcCain: From all scriptures you find that God has a way of dealing with his people and servants, it is not in our place to pass judgement on them. Leave the church leaders to the God that called them
This doesn’t mean that they cant be scolded or disciplined. There is grounds for that but it has to be done by someone who has that authority. For example, In a church if a deacon does something wrong, the pastor is there to correct that one. If it’s a senior pastor, the General overseer can do that.

But if it’s the G.O that’s does something wrong, fellow G.O’s from other ministry can do that or organizations like CAN & PFN can come in.

If he/she refuses such, you then leave them to God. It will be wrong for a member to do the scolding or disciplining. Miraims case will buttress my point

How many of you will come back from work to find out that your child has been mercilessly beaten by the maiguard or househelp, will you be happy?? Regardless of what your child has done, you feel its your right as a parent to do the disciplining!! (am not talking about a maid spanking your kid or asking him/her to kneel)

Same with God!!!!!!

The Point is Leave the Judgement to God not Man. When people catch thieves in Nigeria they start to burn them or beat them in public WHY? why cant you just take them to the police let God be the One to Judge. Now you want to place Gay in prison for 14 yrs while your leaders steal and get away with their crimes. Why cant you let God be the one to Judge the Homosexuals Like the Pope said. undecided undecided

All these untoward practices are already affecting the Church.

1. Many more people are not only turning against the church leaderships, they are turning agnostic or pagan. It's even very apparent on NL, where atheistic posts get more 'likes' than godly ones.

2. Church leaderships are groping for survival to prove that they are not complacent or complicit, even as they spend more time on the pulpit trying to exonorate themselves, leaving the preaching of salvation comatose or less relevant.

3. Everywhere, churches and their members are facing investigations and even persecutions. In Britain, Ashimolowo faced the drills of Metro police and was only recently let off. Oyedepo's Winners is facing the same thing now as he's under investigation for funds transferred to HQ in Nigeria. In Cameroon, about 100 churches have been closed up. In the western countries, many pastors and tele evangelists have either been slammed in jail, fined or are presently under investigations.

4. In Egypt, Syria, Libya and many Islamic countries, churches are being torched and believers jailed.

When God's people neglect to judge themselves, God sends strangers and the heathen to judge them even harsher. Check out the stories of Children of Israel in the Old Testament, which is meant to be our own road map as Christians.

5. Need I add that a lot of church goers have their faith shaken by recent events? Imagine, if after about 4 decades of Born Again Christianity, someone I'm very close to presently doesn't find it so pleasant attending church services as before, what does that make of him? Either backslidding or rethinking. I hope he would not turn a gnostic or even atheist.

Even strong Christians are having their faith shaken and a lot of charlattan Christians are arguing only towards the survival of their man-made gods... and souls are perishing because of the actions of their man-made gods... and they 'remain loyal' like Nigerian police.

The Bible is more concerned about offending the "little ones", recommending such offenders to have millstones tied to their necks while they drown. But 'Churchians' are more concerned about saving the face of their pastors.

When the affliction of judgement comes, don't think you will be spared; all of Israel often suffered for the SINS OF THE FATHERS.

In essence, yes - since God is the one who appointed the pastor, leave it to God to deal with. In his view, others should not comment on a matter which, if proven true, is clearly condemned - just leave it to God to 'judge'.

In reality, such a view has no basis in Christianity, which is replete with examples of Christians openly rebuking other Christians where they've gone wrong. Paul didn't leave Peter to God when he erred, neither did

Here in lies your answer, it was in my post

"this doesn’t mean you cant switch church when
you find out that the doctrines are wrong or
that the pastor is not practicing what he
preaches."

So we should close our eyes to a fake pastor, quietly switch Church and leave the Pastor to continue defiling other weak, naïve and unsuspecting young girls..how do u tink self? What happened to be ur brother's keeper? What happened to Jesus message of Love..cos of Love jesus broke the Law that says keep the sabbath day holy. At the time the pharisees who re skilled in the scriptures saw it as Christ being a Law breaker..they were busy quoting scriptures for him, like u re doing..but Jesus made them understnd, Love supercedes all..Love breaks no Law.

If I truly love myself and other members of the Church, the ones worshipping there and the ones yet to worship there, then that Pastor should be exposed. Do u even understand wat sins like this do to the Souls of these Young girls? Do u understand how these sins shake the very foundation of their faith? Wat did Jesus say? If u cause any of this little ones who believe in me to sin..it will be better if a milestone is tied around your neck and u be cast into the sea. M sure the destroyed souls of these pple don't bother u, u re more interested in protecting the "anointed".. U re evn committing a greater sin, seeing evil and trying to cover it up, using the scriptures to back up ur deceit..jst like the pastor did.. you tink u re fulfilling the scriptures but you re breaking it. Be warned. Even Satan can quote scriptures, it doesn't mean he understands them.

suredammy: I have read a lot of comments on this issue and I am always amazed by the response from most Nigerian Christians. Can't you all see that this goes beyond randy pastors. I think it is a valid question to ask if Christianity is the religion to attain salvation. And before you scream YES IT IS, please just take a moment to reflect. Where is the Ideal Christianity, When Celebrity Pastors just milk and take advantage of church members, all preaching is geared toward prosperity gospel (read MONEY). Where is the fear of God in all these pastors who profess to have higher insight and spiritual levels compared to their congregations? What is that spiritual level? Who and where are those that possess it? Is it not all a mirage and farce? I think it is high time we all pondered and think deeply about the credibility of Christianity and not follow dogmatically. Mind you, scandals involving the church and so called MEN OF GOD are not limited to Nigeria (CATHOLIC CHURCH WORLDWIDE READ ANYONE). I doubt it if most Nigerians have even bothered to read about the history of Christianity.
Where is the fear of God, spirituality, Hoping for God reward in heaven, worshiping God alone, Love of God, following his injunction and laws, making sacrifices for their God and not only hoping for material wealth in this world. Christians only choose to follow the Gods laws that suit there whims and self-desires. Where are the Pastors and Christians who abstain from and condemn fornication, embezzlements, bribery, and corruption e.t.c.
God’s true religion is perfect and He will only use righteous men and women to propagate his religion, not these criminals disguise as PASTORS. The truth is clear and falsehood is clear. Whoever chooses to follow the path of falsehood will only have him or herself to blame when he meets his CREATOR. I know most people will abuse me instead of thinking deeply about what I have written, but that doesn’t change or blot the facts and the MOST IMPORTANT OF QUESTIONS; IS CHRISTAINITY THE TRUE RELIGION IN THE SIGHT OF GOD.

Yes it is.. The fact that Christians aint living the life Christ called them to live doesn't discredit xtianity. We practise religion nt christianity..hence all of this nonsense. Christianity doesn't mean u put off ur thinking Cap, it means u wear it tighter. U scrutinize evry msg, every preacher with the bible, but Christians are too Lazy to do that. They will rather the Pastor read the bible and interpret it to them anyhow he deems fit.

I ve taken time to study the bible and I ve come to realise, that if we actually practised the msg of Christ the world will be a better place. Churches these days will tell u, u ve to do this and that to be considered a disciple of Christ..they force their doctrines on us and we obey blindly. In the bible a man askd Jesus a Straight question..how will men knw m your disciple? and Jesus gave him a straight answer..LOVE. That's hw simple it is. A pastor who understnds this will not tell his Church Member he should ignore his neighbor who is in dare need of financial help and instead bring the money to the Church, Such Pastor will not sleep around with girls, Such pastor will not involve in bribery and singing praises for corrupt politicians. Instead of preaching this msg of love towards one another, they preach love towards the church. That's why we ve christians who re wicked to their fellow man, but in the Church they ve the best attitudes. they don't understand Christ's message, hence they don't practise it.

My write up was not to fault Ese or to support. The pastor. The Essence was to tell folks to be careful how they go abt the criticism.

now ask yourself, with all the public ranting, what has come out of it The service attendance hasn't dropped , neither has the pastor said anything. Why bring problem to yourself for something you weren't authorized to judge??

There is a structure in place in the church to deal with such, CAN & PFN is there, the court of law is there, the accused wife is there

Am not an advocate of coverup, after all the bible says he that coverereth his sins shall not prosper...

whether u like it or not, both wise & naive girls will still troop to that church, summary God has a way of dealing with such things.

Jimmy swaggert in the US was caught with a prostitute on two different times, the first he apologized & he was suspended, assemblies of God defrocked. Him, one would have taught that he will learn his lessons, months later he was caught with another prostitute, do you know what he told the congregation?? God told me its none of ur business

today the man is still alive & pastoring, though he no longer heads the church.... Bottom line, GOD HAS A WAY OF DEALING WITH SUCH THINGS
