you too dey like money. rubber neck. gold digger.

that is not being romantic at all. it would be a nice gesture but it is not romantic at all.

Flowers are just sooo Cliché.

You can get them as you fill your tank in the gas station,
You can get them from a street hawker while stuck in traffic
You can get them as you refill your prescription and buy new underwear at the pharmacy.

To me, Flowers are the quintessential I am not even trying to put much thought into this and I don’t care if you know I am not even trying because I honestly don’t care gift.

Give me a good book and I'll skipp merrily away but what will get me going "take me now, I'm yours for life" is NES with Super Mario Bros 3. *drooling*

Hmm it has struck me that some naija girls just don't appreciate or see the essence of a romantic gesture huh?

Haba, it's not like we don't. . . we just want a little bit of originality in the gesture.

Not too much to ask, no?
Re: The Rose Factor! by iice(f): 5:35pm On Jul 10, 2008
Roses ugghhhh
So cliche

Yes. I would take a lady that wants that any day of the week.  Problem is, 97% of you naija wome would probably prefer to take the money and go shopping instead.

you too dey like money. rubber neck. gold digger.
Oh yea, I probably didn't tell ya before, but baby, I'm a gold digga.
As long as am not digging ya, don't worry about it.

What's too much about it?
I'm being so nice. I usually ask them to fill my bank account. brim brim!

Abeg, pesin be goat

Flower ko.

i cannot encourage sorry.

One, the flowers don't even smell nice
two, they die in one day
three, no usefulness.

Please buy me Something useful j

Roflmao; i raised this issue because i've heard some Naija girls complain over flowers and i started wondering when this flower culture engulfed a whole generation, could it be too much Nollywood and hollywood movies?
Re: The Rose Factor! by RedHotChic(f): 5:40pm On Jul 10, 2008
Must confess, the first time i bought flowers to welcome a lady at the airport while in the Uk, i felt like a clown, because it looked so Alien to me Nigeria man.

Were you trying to be oyibo or what?
Re: The Rose Factor! by RedHotChic(f): 5:41pm On Jul 10, 2008
Naija girls have changed
So I heard but it's mostly the younger generation(<23).
Re: The Rose Factor! by CH3COO(m): 5:41pm On Jul 10, 2008
Flowers don't have to be cliche'  all the time ke.  It depends on the mood, the setting, the person, the vibe, et al.  I can sweep a woman I love off her feet with a sensational of gathering of roses.  And no, it's not because I'm looking to Bleep her that night that one can come as an added bonus.  Such things are not always done out of greed.  More meaningful and mind-numbing to the woman when you surprise her with somethin genuine that shows how much you care. Whether it be petals or the flower itself, you name it.

How many recharge cards do you buy for her in a week? undecided undecided undecided undecided
Re: The Rose Factor! by RedHotChic(f): 5:44pm On Jul 10, 2008
When u work hard and earn your money, u wont like to spend it on rose that they will place in a bottle of water for 10hrs and it starts dying. It is the oyibo man's culture, our women don't appreciate it. Whether it cost $560 or £850 a year, in my opinion it will always be a waste. . . Why not gather that £850 and get her a lovely night out or even go shopping. . . Surely thats better than one silly rose every week?

hmmmm financial guru!!!!!!!

If you try that with me you will not walk away with a dime.  In fact you will pity yourself for not asking for payment before service.  I go chop and clean mouth well well.

I wouldn't call her my girl, as such there's would be no reason to dump me.  All we're practicing is trade by barter. I have yet to find a girl that's suitable to hold a phone to my golden ears, to feed me on her knees and shower me with her love. And Apes should not even talk of dumping people, please biko.

Your mother surely didn't do her job in you well. I can't believe we have people that disrespect women this much in 2008. You are doing trade by barter with her ehn? so, she's a LovePeddler abi? trading sex for gifts? undecided undecided

Hey, some people here are not yoruba's and it'll be unfair if they start in their own vernacular.

Hey anything is better than being a feminist in this day and age where feminism has even caused some guys to become gays. Meanwhile I said nothing to disrespect or LovePeddler any woman, I basically just left the implication there. I'm not into the practice of prostitution. Don't scare away my admirers please, you're killing my star.
