burberry89: And can you categorically tell me what you've gained morally and socially from your overhyped "ukwu" and "caro" singers? Some songs change your mentality, man.Damn, sometimes when I listen to tracks by The Game,Nas,Eminem,Wale and the rest of 'em,I just sit down and THINK. The only naija artistes I respect are TuFace,IllBliss,Burna Boy,D'banj.I also gat love for Praiz and Timi Dakolo Just respect my opinions and preferences and I'll respect yours |

critic: Brings to mind what functional music is all about which is lacking in most local songs. Besides, I think the kind of songs you listen to depends on your level of intelligence. My take. Executives who refused to sign Nelly when he presented them with Country Grammar later regretted not signing Nelly when the song got Grammy nominated. What would you call those execs? Smart? 1 Like |

Some of you here are disqualifying artists just because you don't know the ways of the street , Someone mentioned Congo Aso by 9ice which was in all ways a great tune that made sense, And then Olamide the street disciple. Elefo illuminati |

Nobleval: it's a pity. Our 9ja singers are killing 9ja songs with their pidgin and native language. If u are observant u wil notice dat 9ja music is declining it's a pity. Our 9ja singers are killing 9ja songs with their pidgin and native language. If u are observant u wil notice dat 9ja music is decliningWhat the...! Using pidgin and our native languages makes us unique,it gives our songs a kind of edge.I have respect for Nigerian musicians who sing like Nigerians e.g Lagbaja. Singing like the whites does not make us unique, but ordinary. Its not abt the language of a song....its the depth of the lyrics. |

sweet_gala:A song making sense doesn't mean it shud pass a msg, if ur looking for one go church or rada buy inspirational books, Wat it means is, if d artist is talking abt a woman there shud b creativity wit his lines,d lines shud mk u think blow ur mind away, For example chk out dis line "all dis thins we said to each oda ar just nothing buh TRUTHFUL LIES", and dat was 2baba Yh d American acts sing abt pucy n weed, buh as an enthusiast even if de sing abt pucy n weed at least d lines are well delivered with great word plays and punchlines, creativity etc Wtf is parkk baby pull over, reverse baby pull ova 2face,jessejaggs,mi,praiz,and just a few odas big ups to u guys |

troy20: Terry G,Timaya...you listen to them long enough, you dont notice thier crap anymore because you look at them and you dont expect them to make sense but i never stopped wondering how psquare, dbanj turned stars and sold albums.the lyrics...the beats...psquare was never better than that dude sky B.and the dudes music carreer has long been smoke.P-SQUARE WASN'T BETTER THAN SKY B? And their albums sell more than Tu face's? P-square and Tu face are the ONLY Nigerian artistes in Nigeria who tackled genres that normally flop in Naija and still sold. Even when they sang those 'burial songs' like bye bye, omoge mi, I dey miss you die, Am I Still That Special Man people still rushed their album, listened to the songs and joked about their heartbreak songs. P-square are Africa's most successful group in urban music. Only 2face and P-square remain from their era, others are gone. Even Styl-plus, Africa's BoysIIMen couldn't last despite their appeal. Those guys have been here for over ten years, longer than D'banj, Banky, M.I. Sky B didn't even last up to a year. If they were so wack, they would've long lost their fame. Comparing P-square to that clown is like comparing Ludacris to Souljah boy. 2 Likes |

Rayvene:j You don't seem to have musical hearing then, I'm probably more critical of Nigerian artists but to denounce their creativity is absurd. The current stock of hip hop artists are so lame and just recycle the same ol trash that an average artist like Kendrick Lamar is calling all of them out. 1 Like |

thegoodjoehunt:lol, Game's D.0pe boys takes the cake, he almost repeated the chorus as much as D'prince's Take Banana. That song by Young Money- I wish I could fvck every girl in the world, where was the sense in it? or 2chainz- "They ask me what I do and who I do it for/and how I come up with this shii up in the studio/All I want for ma birthday is a big bo.oty call// (the first 2 lines have ABSOLUTELY NO CONNECTION to the last line).
