I don't think they are kidnappers but rather swindlers. I had a similar experience in Abuja, Wuse precisely. A guy just walked up 2 me after i alighted from a bus asking me vague questions, that he's from togo and needs to get to so and so place, that he lost his way, they came to Nigeria to offload goods in the port, bla bla bla. He was even trying to speak french probably to convince me. Next thing this other guy pops out of no whr, he wantd 2 knw what the 1st guy was asking me as i was already slowly walking away. I didn't even give him attention cos my instinct already told me it was a plot. I just left them and walked away.

Hmmm Asaba na quiet but hot area. Our last born had same experience around same axis exactly at the ogbogonogo area. According to him, they took him down otuogwu street. After much sweet mouth, persuasion, stories and deception and finding our my bros though very naive but refused moving further, they collected his phone. They would have just collected all d cash and phone on you and this depends on how much they have hypnotized you,, U may go further

Those were not kidnappers. They wanted to scam you with ''wash wash''.

I was almost a victim in 2002 when I was working on Allen Avenue, Lagos. In my case, I offered to help the guy, not because of the incentive of a phone but because he needed to go back to ''Cameroon" where he supposedly came from.

On getting to Isheri Ojodu, the story changed. The people he supposedly left the phones with claimed they relocated them elsewhere because the guy didn't come back on time.

One of them whispered to me that they discovered some dark papers in the cartons which turned out to be money films. They then demonstrated it by washing out 2 notes of N200 and gave me. Pronto! it dawned on me I was in the midst of scammers; I had to deploy some drama skills I acquired on campus- I played along.

I showed so much excitement that they were begging me to calm down."oh oh my time has come! time to make money!". I screamed as though my SAKA DON PORT GO MTN grin.

Anyway, they needed to get more chemicals to wash the films for us to make N10 million cash. "Guys, how much do I need to contribute to get N5 million?" I asked straight-faced. The guys were stunned at 'my greed'. "Well bros, the chemical costs N1.5M; if you can drop 500k, you get N3.5M'' one of them responded.

Finger-on-lip, I looked up and sighed. "Ok guys. deal! Let me get to V.I and pick up some cash from my uncle. I will fly a bike to and fro. But you guys need to assure me the story wont change when I come back. I dont want to hear somebody else paid'' I said convincingly.

"Small thing bros, we are here. No too tey sha''

That was how I escaped.

Hmmmm I actually did. I did not add that part so that some people that knew my story wouldnt identify me grin

That was why I said ''I would fly a bike to and fro.'' I collected N2k because I paid N1,500 for a cab that took us from Allen to Isheri.

promisechild: Ha! They are not kidnapers oo because they have used this same format for me before in lagos ijeshatedo, odo-olowu street precisely in 2008 unfortunately I followed them let me narrate my ordeal to you all

It was on a fateful sunday noon when I was coming back from church a guy walked up to me speaking language wey I no hear claiming he was looking for twinkle street.since wey dey born me I never hear that kind street name before for ijesha and I told him I don't know the street and he told me he bought containers of BB from france and he gave it to a man to sell it for him but he hasn't seen the man since he gave him the phones that is why he decided to trace the address he gave him.then I told him ha! Dem don dupe u be that but never knew then I was the one to be duped finally.

So I decided to leave him alone and continue my journey home, suddenly a guy in a blue shirt and a face cap on came to me asking what did that guy tell you then I told him and he said he had come to him before and he told me that we should follow him to somewhere, that the guy still have plenty bb that he gave to a man.so the first scammer came to me again speaking in francais wey I no hear then the second scammer interpreted it to me. What he interpreted to me was what he told me earlier on about the bb that is still available so I decided to follow them because I never use bb before then

fortunately my elder brother was passing by and he called promise were you dey go immediately the second scammer told me to ignore him jare that don't let anybody spoil business for you ooo
Then I lied to my brother that I want to buy something then I followed them

Finally we have reached the place which he says the other black berry phones was,the building we entered was a face me and face you house but it seems the room they used was a vacant room in that house but am still surprised how they could used that such building for such act.

Then a man came to welcome us and told us he wants to go and open the store he kept the phones so he can bring it out for us then he went and came back later telling us the key is not available now because the man with the key to the store has went out.

The man bought a white paper along with him. When he came back and he told me that this paper am seeing is money that there is still millions of the paper in the store then he told me to hold the paper and put it in a detergent water and wash it then I did so in a twinkle of an eye the paper turned to 500 naira note in my hand I was shocked,so I was told that we need a chemical to wash the other paper and we all are
To contribute money to buy the chemical the price of the chemical was said to be 200k

A new man again came inside who claims to be a herbalist and he told me that what I saw here today was not meant to be divulged to anybody else or else I would die and he told me to pour spit at the back of my hand and I did so and he told me to turn my hand back behold! The spit has disappeared to the palm of my hand, I was afraid and he told me that it was the sign that I would die will I tell anybody what happened here today and I promised to not tell anybody

Finally they all shared the money that is expected from each individual in order to buy the chemical and I was to bring 60k and I was told to provide the money before 24hrs or I would die because the money I touched came from the caribean island and whoseover touched it and didn't wash it before 24hrs would die and they also promised to give me 20million naira if I bring my own share of the money

Ask me to complete it

@OP,
Fear not, they're not kidnappers neither are they ritualists. They are petty 419 con men and their trick is as old as time; had my first experience somewhere around maza maza in Laos way back in 1997.
I didn't fall for them but I know folks who have and it all ends in washing of dollars or Naira notes after which you are told to get money for more chemicals. They work on your greed thats all.
