gbosaa:Bros, e never reach quarrel now besides, I think it's best we enlighten ourselves. According to what I read, they're like there are different versions of the Nsibidi; as in Igbos have theirs, Efik theirs, Ekoi theirs. Someone who's well versed should throw more light. Quid, did you just write that as in the nsibidi writing in the picture? |

I first came accross nsibidi on another forum. Curiously it was an Igbo lady informing us about it, and she did put it forward as Igbo- initiated early form of writing, so this is quite interesting. 1 Like |

quid:They may be related, but there should be a little difference between "nsibidi" and "nsibiri." "Nsibiri" is most likely the corrupt version. What do you think? |

quid:Don't you think one is the corruption of another? The Arabic, the Yoruba and the Igbo call onion basa, alubosa and bawas respectively. Igbo and Yoruba corrupt the origin Arabic pronounciation. I hate it when you start saying I have Igbophobia or hate Igbo people. Stop it. "Eyin t'aja fi n b'omo e sere, lo n fi n ge je." If you are Igbo/Efik/Ekoi Read more about Nsibidi on this thread https://www.nairaland.com/973985/nsibiri-pre-colonial-writing-south-eastern Crayola1 did a very good job. Award winning author based in Chicago, Prof Nnedi Okoroafor also wrote a book about Nsibidi in her book, Akata witch.( I'm not too sure because I haven't read the book.) The OP is a mischievous fellow. |

I just read this topic on Wikipedea. seriously, i feel curious, i need to see a person who could intereprete or probably teach me. Its high time we change our educational system to fit our society. Why would we have experts in english language and we don't have any in our own written language. Some people would still continue saying Africa don't have any History or intellectual. 3 Likes |

Feraz: I've always wondered where the writings originated from and I'm of the opinion that the Eastern and SE governors should create awareness so that people can research more on it.Governors have nothing to do with this, that's the work of university lecturers and researchers. There are universities in the South east especially the state universities with students and lecturers of linguistics who can research on this and publish their discoveries for awareness 1 Like |
