@OP, When I saw your write-up, I knew a lot of people would get you wrong the same way I have always argued this motion since time immemorial. What people do not understand is that the fact you brought this up does not mean you refer to every single black person or African descendant like many people would prefer; that will mean generalization and ignorance. However, I have wondered on this same issues myself for a long time. Australia is one of the richest countries in the world but you will be moved to tears when you study the plights of the aborigines. Many people in the pacific nations of Vanuatu and Tonga for example are still naked. South-Sudan is the newest nation in the world and they could not hold their stuff together for a couple of years even with the resources they have.

Nigeria as a nation has been blessed with everything to be a world giant yet the ordinary Nigerian cannot enjoy the simple benefits of social amenities which even tiny nations in Europe like Macedonia enjoy; even when their citizens will be the first to admit their country is a poor one. We could blame the white man for everything, and hell yeah; some of the conspiracies are true of them setting us backwards and economically disadvantaged. However, my question is why can't we be the the captains of our own ship and masters of our fate? Even the kings during slavery sold off our people for mere stuff such as mirrors. I do not have the answers but I do admit that we do have a problem and I wonder if we can overcome this collectively as a race.

By merely perusing through the comments that this scholarly and intelligent question has generated, it is evident to all who had doubts before now that something is seriously wrong with the way the Black man reasons.

Institutions are identified with a social purpose, transcending individuals and intentions by mediating the rules that govern living behavior. This tells you that strong Institutions dictates the way a people must live.

A lot of Nigerian's wish that the British (our colonial masters) had stayed longer than 1960, they believe Nigeria would have looked more like South Africa (which seems to be the only organised country in Africa) this situation is possible today in South Africa because their colonial masters where around to nurture there INSTITUTIONS to maturity. The laid down INSTITUTIONS were still very tender when the British left Nigeria, the new set of leaders reset the values of our INSTITUTIONS and this is the reason we are in this mess.

If we cultivate STRONG INSTITUTIONS with the right values in Africa, things would get a lot better as man would always conform to the dictates of its environment.

Black "domination" as you called it is not 2000 years old. Our problems started with the end of the Medieval Period (15th Century) when less sophisticated Europeans (compared to Greeks and Romans) after overrunning Europe and bringing an end to the Roman Empire were now fully in power. These Europeans were referred to as Barbarians by Romans. Blacks (Negroes) were treated no differently than other races in the Roman Empire; and being black was not considered a sign of inferiority. With that timeline, our problem is just about 700 years old.

Being black is wack. Some blacks have been able to wash their blackness away by being "Learned" and "Illuminated". Our Leaders have subjected even the whites of us to be black! No investment in Education, Legal, Health institutions generally. A black man talks and thinks without being guided by statutes, moral laws, Policies, etiquette, divine constitution and principles. This is the opposite of the other races. So their achievements make them feel superior and our backwardness makes us inferior!
