If you are educated you will understand the implication of restricting movement because of a forsaken tradition that is not accepted by all. That is the problem. nobody is saying they should not do whatever ritual they deem fit to celebrate but restricting movement and even going ahead to kill innocent people in the name of culture is stupid and barbaric

Must everything always be accept by all, for you to respect the way of life of other folks? Isn't that what mutual respect and co-existence is about?

Is everyone on the planet a Christian? But why do we all celebrate Christian pagan holidays?

And why do people have to stay home during all these Christian holidays that all have pagan origins? If that isn't restriction, I honestly don't what it's.

Leave these people alone. They never forced you to live there...if you don't like their culture, it's a free world - move to your village.

As nigerian I have right to live there.

I am a devotee of the Oro pantheon. I was with the Oro procession during the burial of the late Olu of Ikeja, Oba Rauf Matemi Amore.

I should have currently been in Ikorodu also if not for the engagement i have in preparation for the Osun-Osogbo festival that'l commence on monday

Our culture, belief and tradition will never die

Yeeeeeepa Oro Baba oooo !

Honestly, I don't know much about all the whole procession. However, I just have a problem with these numbnuts who like forcing their opinions on other folks. That's their ancestral land and they can celebrate whatever the fvck they want on their land.

captivating: Attention! Attention!! Attention!!!
If you have any business or activities around ikorodu area of
Lagos state please suspend it for now.
I use to pay no or less attention whenever a traditional ruler
passed on and people start spreading rumours that 7 or 14
human heads are needed to perform some kind of funeral
rites, until a woman confirmed it today that she almost get
nailed yesterday at ikorodu for the burial rites of the late
Oba of ikorodu that pass on this week.
According to the woman she said, the good samaritan that
got her out of the danger zone said, the traditionalist
needed 14 male and female heads.
Please spread the news and save lives!!!

Pls spread the word to these NL nincompoooops in the like of Pagan and Dragon who don't see anything wrong with killing people in the name of tradition.

When you tell them these evil, they'll tell you its Western propaganda. It still beats my imagination that there are savages who are proud of their evil. May some1 close to them lose his/her life to one of these people.

Well, where I'm from there's a quasi restriction on movement on Christmas, and most people stay at home. It's a Christian country and everyone else has to respect that.

Go and worship you wood and clay. It is Westernization that has made you computer literate. What has your traditional religion done for you ? Christianity established schools and free health care which Im sure you are also enjoying. If you have malaria fever, you won't drink agbo. You will run to the nearest clinic to get some treatment.

If you are sensible, you will see that I mentioned the -ves of these traditions which also include your favourite masquerade dance. Whether Calabari, Yoruba or Kanuri masquerade dancing is rubbish and backward. U hear. Case close.
who are the westerners that you re talking about? are china, japan,et al christian country, is bill gate a christian? with your logic its now known to me that you guys worship white man skin. Oga religion doesnt have anything to do with invention, its science you get that. if you have the brain and support you can manufacture things too.

This is the land of the indigenes before the foreigners came.

So they have every right to practice their age-old customs.

It doesnt take palce everyday. just once in a while. so newcomers must learn to put up with it.

In my opinion, the day should be granted a state holiday.

We should be ready to modify our culture to meet today's challenges

The said culture would affect movement because that's the actual culture here. If you and ur Christ don't like it take Christ to Jerusalem where he belongs

while we are happy that in the 21st century some of our African culture is still practiced today , why though must people be made to feel threatened by it, why must i be held hostage in my own home because a king died?

culture must be engaging to ensure its continuity and interest, why must movement be restricted because a king died? culture must be accommodating to others who are not part of it, hassle like this is what brings hostility towards certain practices and they are seen to be backward thus people turn their noses at it and refuse to understand it.

Our culture would make Lagos even be more of a mega city.

The Olu of Ikeja, Oba Rauf Matemi Amore, passed on and the whole of Ikeja, the capital of Lagos was awashed with Oro initiates from all over Lagos. I also had to travel down to Lagos for this purpose.
