It can be YES or NO.

YES in the sense that if the partner told the other concerned about it before that marriage, then the cross has to be borne with no complaint. Which means he/she consented to it hoping for mairacle after marriage.

On the other hand, if the partner did not make the status of his/her potency known before the marriage then we can conclude there was no marriage in the first palce. The marriage was built on falsehood which can be dissolved when the truth springs forth.

Don't let us be ignorantly taking cover under 'religion' , we're not to be gullible. Anything built on falsehood can be dissolved anytime the truth surfaces.

Shalom

Abeegi, stop spreading falsehood here!

What you described above (inability to stay erect) is called Erectile Dysfunction.

It is different from impotency .... which someone already explained as FIRING BLANKS.
That is, sperm lacks "alive and fertile spermatozoa"

If nothing else at all, use Google, it can help.

I am afraid u are wrong.Erectile dyfunction is the medical word for impotency.

Firing blanks is infertility

Do these religious folks understand that impotency or infertility is a biological/medical problem? Do you rely on ur pastor or DOCTOR to fix your appendicitis? Why are folks blinded by religion?

I'll tell u what d bible says. 'You err because you know not the scripture nor the power of God.' God has power to heal and save.

No u got it wrong. The bible is a written account of the words of God.Some direct declaratios by him.Others inspired by him.

If you had a secretary and dictated a letter to her.Although, she may be d one who wrote down, typed and posted d letter, u d dictator are d writer or author of d letter.Same goes for d bible.Though written by human agency, God is d dictator, writer and authur.

The major prblm with christains is that they knw close 2 nothing abt their bible, may b because thy r just too lazy to study it or perhaps d bible is unable to clearify many important issues which is most likely to be the case, resulting to everybody's opinion coming out directly frm his/her thoughts instead of d so-called holy book.

LAST BULLET---> religeon should'nt b practiced just because u found ur parents practicing it, bt because u hv made a great deal of research nd convinced that it is indeed d true religeon worthy of practice.

Peace~

No book is as complete as the Bible. The bible addresses all issues pertaining to life, it is your understanding of it that matters. Study it

Can you seek for dissolution because a woman cannot bear children?

Edit: BTW dissolution is divorce with a better name. Annulment on the other hand is a different ball game.

Okay, annulment it is!

If it can be established that the marriage was 'contracted' in deceit e.g the lady is aware of her state but refused to tell the man who believed she is fertile, the marriage can be annulled.

Please note that I believe a marriage should be binding even when the couples are incapable of having children. My OP is focused on cases where the man cannot get it up long enough to penetrate the woman.

I agree with you on annulment in a case where the man can not get it up which is why I asked about a woman not being able to bear children. It can hardly be argued that she was deceitful if she no prior medical condition that required her to check her ovaries or womb. Even at that other factors can come in.

Being a christian doesn't mean you should be mumu, even Jesus was never mumu as people of now a days Christianity, I remember dem David, Solomon, Elijah, and Moses, all of dem sharp. If your marriage have issue, divorced and get a new life, there is always room for forgiveness
hmm so how many marriage would u have,if u keep divorcing.as human u should knw there wil always be issue so u should be able to settle ur qualms with ur husband/wife. how sure are u dat the next marriage u want to venture in wil not be like the previous one?

The question here should be: was there ever a marriage to start with?

In my view, a number of factors must be considered before someone can truly claim that he or she is married.

1) The union must be one entered with full consent.
2) The couples must be able to consummate the union via the conjugal act.
3) The couples must have attained the age of reasoning.

Without those 3, there is no marriage. A man who is impotent would have defaulted on at least one of the above. The lady would be right to ask for a dissolution of the union as divorce does not come to play here.
You Ve said it all. Church will nullify d wedding if there was no consummation 7 days after ceremony. Plz you guys sud stop quoting d bible wen u know nothing abt marriage. In d olden days marriage was meant for just sex and child bearing so tell me if it was den a partner is impotent wat wud dey be doing. Also let's find out d meaning of impotence: inability to copulate, sterility, erectile dysfunction etc.

It is indeed wrong to divorce your partner solely on the basis of impotence. However, as impotence often leads to failure to consummate the marriage, it can be a reason for annulment (not divorce!).
