I think it is wisdom that you reconsider your marriage plans as the pastor has adviced you.What's your pupose of taking the test if you won't yield to its advice.People have gone that line and many times its the children born that have had to suffer for it most.Thou shalt not tempt the Lord your God.If you really love her/ believe that God has told you to marry her,then you can pray now as well and believe God and go for another test.with God, all things are possible.Just an advice please.

I think you misunderstood your pastor.

It is strange that genotype is now becoming a criteria for marriage. Spiritually speaking, the only basis for marriage is genuine love and spiritual harmony between the couples. Intending couples should be encouraged to undergo genetic tests but the results of such tests should not be a factor in deciding to marry each other. Such tests should simply serve as a guide to intending couples to know what diseses their genes may predispose them or their children. It is left for them to decide wheather they are capable of handling the situation if they have children with genetic disorder. Neither the pastor nor the genetic counsellor is in a position to advise them on marriage. However if both have a true spiritual love for each other, then such mudane considerations as genotype status should not prevent them from marrying. If however such genuine love does not exist, then their is no basis for marriage in the first place. I hope that we are not slowly but dangerously moving into selection of partners based on genetic screening. What happens if both couples are AA but the woman has predisposing breast cancer genes or the man with predisposing prostrate cancer genes? What happens if both are AA, got married and the wife becomes pregnant and during routine tests, they are told that the child has a down sydrome or deformed? Do they abort the foetus? I wonder.

You've all spoken well, but I believe I didnt misunderstant what the pastor said. He called us without telling the parent of the sister and he told us that the spirit of GOD hasnt revealed to him all he said about us. he z he will be very happy if two of us married but he can not allow us to married unless if we should do the test again and the genotype change.

He gave me different examples from the bible but he said to me is like he is going aginst the relatnship because of another reason best know to him.

I cant be writing all he said but if I should tell you, you will agree with me if not 100% it will be 70% sure that there is another reason.

First, how could a pastor call a brother and a sister to tel them to separate when they are not fighting, the lady didnt tell him but another member of that church did that and the man of GOd invited us without the awareness of the parent.

No Pastor, Priest, pope or religious head has a right to choose a partner for another person based on certain criterias that doesnt conform with the religious head. As long as you met your selves without no pastor involved and you grew in love without that pastor and you decided to take that step further without that pastor to get engaged and marry, then the pastor's only job is to bless that union.

Love conquers all and if he advises you not to marry your sweetheart and you break up with him, is he going to find an exac$t relacement for you? Wont your mind be wandering back to your former flame?

Do you think the pastor will care about your love life in 5 years time when others are thronging in to seek counsel from him?

Ma guy, abeg follow your heart. You chose him, you marry him and only 2 of you can solve any future problem thay you might encounter and only 2 of you will reap the benefits of your love!
