The question isn't about price but availability...

It's scarce, because I know how many filling stations I tried before I got that one.
Bear in mind that, yesterday was day 1 or 2, how would subsequent days be? ?

This is what one of my good friend wrote o n his FB page
On FUEL SCARCITY AND POWER FAILURE
buhari is coming in on a week. I pray he does that. (Oritse says arrest marketers, imprison them cease their fuel and arrest union leaders)
Lemme tell you something. Goodluck is a good man that is why there is this scarcity. If it was me or some people, I will agree to marketers demands, approve raised salaries and sign it then leave office for Buhari to pay. Goodluck is defending Nigeria's interests knowing it is foolish to accede to inordinate demands, and also leaving the agreements to the president that will work with them for four years. (Buhari) Is that not reasonable?
Me? I will accept all their demands and when Buhari reduces it in his administration, then he will have mother of all strikes and he will be insulted. GEJ is too good a human being. Bros should approve all nonsense and leave office with fuel and power running and let buhari reduce the bumper agreements.
Now people will say all the dams GEJ built, all the power initiatives are not working and or flopped just because APC encouraged workers to strike and now no gas to power electricity.
GEJ, PLEASE APPROVE ALL DEMANDS AND LEAVE ON A WICKED HIGH NOTE. It is what Nigerians deserve. They believe nonsense lies and propaganda. Leave Buhari to look for the money to pay. APPROVE APPROVE APPROVE

simple, south east don't depend on government, we are business men & women, we can buy fuel at any price without complain. Fuel marketers know fully well that we mean business & they will not loss at all, so d supply is there. lastly how can we look for oil while we have oil? Abia oil, Imo oil, Anambra oil, Ebonyi oil & Enugu gas & coal plus south south states. so how can we look for what we have?

Very correct. Its same people that fight against its removal of fuel subsidy that are now saying we should remove it. What a gullible youthful generation

The point is availability and if you slept overnight in a queue to buy it or blackmarket...180 is too small compared to the rate of 250 and 300 hundred naira per litre in Lagos and Southwest.

When Jonathan decided to remove the fuel subsidy in 2012, what was the deceived people reaction? "OCCUPY LAGOS"

Jonathan said only the total removal of subsidy on petroleum products would attract investors to the oil sector and put an end to the importation of petroleum products as it is currently being done.

Extract from his 2012 address to Nigerians:

- This evening, I address you, again, with much concern over an issue that borders on the national economy, the oil industry and national progress. As part of our efforts to transform the economy and guarantee prosperity for all Nigerians, Government, a few days ago, announced further deregulation of the downstream petroleum sector. The immediate effect of this has been the removal of the subsidy on petrol.

- Since the announcement, there have been mixed reactions to the policy. Let me seize this opportunity to assure all Nigerians that I feel the pain that you all feel. I personally feel pained to see the sharp increase in transport fares and the prices of goods and services. I share the anguish of all persons who had travelled out of their stations, who had to pay more on the return leg of their journeys.

Posterity shall judge Jonathan for his good plans for Nigeria.

That was how Lagos started. They didn't just jump to 250-300N a litre. It increased in an arithmetic progression grin
We are getting there too.
If it continues, we would soon start sleeping in a queue or buying from blackmarket

Na small-small nna.
I still maintain it's scarce.

cantell:

Subsidy protest is a good example.
What matters to Igbos is availability, not mainly the price.
Most of them are business men. If the petrol price increases, they increase the price of their goods.
The westerners depend too much on govt, that's why they're mostly affected when a govt doesn't favour them.
Like oil subsidy protest in the east like the support at the national confab. The same manner we supported the national confab but these lazy mammals rejected it too. I wonder who else knows and want the best for Nigeria. So any day there is a genuine plan to restructure Nigeria the Igbo man and woman will be the first to key into such idea. The signs show in the above i mentioned. Up Nigeria if it not about oil. Up igbo people for their hardworks worldwide.

In Kaduna a litre of fuel goes for N130 and you won't even stand in a queue depending on the location, all northern states only read about fuel scarcity in newspapers. The so called black jews sell theirs for N180 and are busy beating their chests here. Suffering and smiling tongue

let me not "beat my chest this time" we are not experiencing fuel scarcity because we have some of the biggest marketers in the business who i believe play vital roles in this whole game. besides, we have this natural ability to always find a way outta situations without govt help. my opinion o.

u are right but somehow don't agree with everything about your comment.. Do u know DT fuel was 65 per liters before Jonathan removed subsidy which mean it was half of the money DT was removed n half left for subsiby... Then come to ask yourself? The half money DT was removed do they use it to power the refineries that was abandoned n even if everything was removed what's the assurance DT the Jona government DTS failure will come to our rescue n rehabilitate refineries...... The cabal are in Jona government & Our Leaders are corrupt....Failure Government... I believe President Elect will do something better for this country

Old dog! We should also ban Innoson motors because he's of a local company. Give the local refineries the right licences and policies they can do well. Experts has say that many times. We know the right things to do in this country, not doing them has kept us the way we are today. Notime for pretends!

Let me tell you, if you know the number of illegal refineries here in East you will shock.

That Island inbetween Anambra and Delta is home to hundreds of illegal refineries, I was there in January with speedbaot to see a pal who is running his own DIY refining business.

But the fuel is not always good for vehicle caburators but people use it to power generators.
THIS IS THEIR SECRET.
