Why is the COAS still punishing Gen Kuti? He absolved all previous AWOL soldiers of their charges lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed. He should do the same here, they were all playing out the same script, Gen Kuti included. Gen Kuti was more loyal to Obj than the Nigerian Army.

Bullcrap undecided If you have no weapons what are you doing there? Picnic I guess. Is it not cowardice as a General to be commanded to d war front without weapons and you obeyed instead of resigning undecided
mapet:
You guys are just venting on what you know nothing about.
1. Gen Ransome Kuti was commanding a battalion at baga.
2. They had broken-down weapons that was not working. A lot of reports had been sent to military high command back then which fell on deaf hears
3. When Boko haram came to attack Baga, you had a situation where the intelligence Gen. Enitan's team recieved showed they were out-numbered 10-1. His weapons were grounded. It was like committing his men to suicide........
4. For Gen Enitan's decision, about 300men are alive today, who should have been wasted
5. At his trial, even his GOC came to testify and his term was "we had carcass for weapons". His testimony was an embarrassment to the military. He said despite the fact that Boko Haram captured those weapons and promised to use it to attack Nigeria up to Abuja, even they could not use those weapons.
6. You will wonder why Gen. Kuti who has fought wars for UN be the one to be accused of running away?
7. You're accusing Gen. Kuti yet those that embezzled money for weapons are sitting pretty

Minister of state for defence Erelu Olusola had heart attack and slumped at the military parade ground when she heard a bang that was not louder than Xmas 'knockout'

No offence bro if you are Yoruba... grin...Yoruba should channel their efforts on jumping and tearing people's clothes.

You're wicked boy. Stop tribalism, it kills.

Well, soldiers from other ethnic groups were also court-martialled for the same offence alongside the Brigadier-General Ransome-Kuti.

Thirty top officers of the Nigerian army are to face a judicial panel allegedly over the offences committed in the course of the fight against Boko Haram.

Based on the March 11 internal army memo sighted by the Premium Times, the military seniors would head to the army headquarters to be court-martialed for various offences.

Among those listed in the document is Enitan Ransome-Kuti, a Brigadier General and commander of the Multi National Joint Task Force. He was reported to have been arrested in Maiduguri earlier this year, over their failure to repel the attack on Baga, Borno state.

See the list exclusively provided by PT:

1. Brigadier General EA Ransome-Kuti, from MNJTF to AHQ garrison for jurisdiction
2. Colonel OC Ajunwa from MNJTF to AHQ garrison for jurisdiction

It should be recalled that in the recent period the army has ordered numerous proceedings involving the Nigerian soldiers and officers. Some of the tried soldiers were accused of mutiny and sentenced to the capital punishment. The move was followed by negative reactions, with Nigerians begging court to spare their lives.

The military authorities were accused of sending the soldiers to fight against Boko Haram without giving them the adequate weapons. The army tops insisted that fleeing and mutiny made the crimes which deserved death sentence. https://www.naij.com/436925-names-of-30-top-army-officers-to-face-court-martial.html

[size=28pt]because he knew the truth.. basically goodluck jonathan did not handle the situation very well.. when this trouble started.

This officer did not want to loss his men... if in war, the opposition out number you, you will withdraw. it is the normally thing to do.. Till you get backup help. I don't see, why a person should be jail for it.

he did not do anything wrong .

military withdrew for tactic reason.
army are human being too, they have to save their own lifes

Simplified view of VC 274th Main Force ambush against US 11th Armored Cavalry.

[size=28pt]

I don't think any military officer should be punished for making tactic military judgement.
Military tactic is like chess game.. Sometime, you withdraw your knight to get a king like chess.

Sometime the military is allowed to make tactic military withdraw, if they want to follow book haram to know their hide out.
