I do not agree there is NOT a need for this thread.
It is very important to highlight issues that bother on discrimination in the society.
Society thrives on dialogue and how we can make it better. Even our so-called primitive foremothers discussed their issues, let alone a modern society.
Next time don't fly into a thread and spread your butt cheeks and fart everywhere creating a sordid stench/nuisance.

You must be very confused. In your last post, you just said a woman is free to make her decisions and choices. You even just wrote that was what both Chilli and I just said; and that was what everyone has said on this thread.

Then you now write there is discrimination somewhere? What is discriminatory about a woman having a right to make her choices and living her life the way she wants. We have all agreed a woman can make her choices, and you now talk of discrimination? Walahi, you don't have an education.

You are very si.lly. Common sense is not common after all.
Let me school you today...How does agreeing that women need to be more assertive automatically mean that these discriminatory practices do not exist?

There is nothing wrong in you talking about your issues, it is not whining. If you need to be treated better, speak up and talk about it. Let us not silence the ones who have chosen to speak up. Viva Gender equality! cool

I agree anyone is at liberty to speak up about whatever bothers them. Men know women must talk whether there is a point/reason or not. The problem, though, is women making this out to be a witchhunt, like there's some institutionalised hate campaign against them spearheaded by men. Truth is men don't give a fvck and are just trying to navigate the world while fulfilling their dreams as best as they can.

Which women need to be more assertive? The average Nigerian woman like you? People have personality traits. Some people will be assertive, some will not. Some will have a temper, some will not. Different people are born with personality traits. Why don't you preach that NIgerian women should be less materialistic and stop focusing on Channel and Prada bags, Telemundo and Nollywood, etc. Well I guess you wouldn't focus on that because it's their choice. But there are lots of Nigerian women who have decided to succeed.

You said we are all agreed that women can live their lives the way we want. Then you say society discriminates against how women make choices. Please tell me when someone held a gun to your head to demand you live your life a certain way.

I will suggest you get an education and a job for starters. You sound unintelligent and unemployable!

no job to my name?
at your age, i was already independent. you are here on NL hanging on the hem of the underskirt of the loose women - hoping to get money transfer control number from them.

have you ever wondered the reason you were dumped on your granny's lap? it was because none of your parents was responsible enough to take care of their mistake.

the spërm cells that made you should have been shot into your mother's anäl cavity. you are a failure & if care isn't taken, the kids you would raise would be the same.

better go & start driving keke napep instead of addressing people big enough to solve the poverty cycle that has plagued your family tree since 1876.

See link to a frontpage post.

Let us celebrate hard-working Nigerian women who are doing great things all over the world. The people complaining about society can continue ranting here on Nairaland. They obviously have nothing else going on in their lives, that is why they blame the Nigerian society and Nigerian man for every thing wrong in the world. A Nigerian society that does not include them, their parents, husbands, siblings etc.

Yes, I am imperfect. I can't remember saying the males around me are perfect either, I learnt to focus on their perfection. This topic isn't all encompassing, it's centred on a particular ideology some people (mostly males) believe in. "It's only on NL I see them in QUANTUM" _ meaning, they are everywhere...but somehow, majority are here. grin

It won't be far fetched to call them aliens. When a being behaves/reasons in a way that's strange to normal human beings_ it's safe to call that person an alien.
Please, be reminded that there are males I respect on this forum, they don't fall into this category.

What's deceive? Is it nuclear physics for a man to help his wife with chores where you come from?
'but if I told them my husband bludgeons me everyday, it won't be deceiving ba?

Amen. God that brought us all this far, would most definitely see us through.
There is no provision for divorce in my marriage, just love and more love. smiley

No hard feelings dears.

There's few or no section of Nairaland "gender supremacy" is fiercely contested expect on family section or "maybe" romance section.

Let suppose these 2 are where grown men and mature women desirous of family life congregate to share views on marital relationship in order to make the society a better place.

In view of my explanation it's assume you based your statistics on the male population of the highlighted sections of Nairaland. In your reaction you pinpoint that these male nairaland members (Quantum) represents what you aren't familiar with probably in overview of life. You went on to "Canonized" all male members of your family including your extended members. That's where my problems lies.

My argument is that some of these male nairaland members having different views of your opinion might have Wives here praising their husbands too. Telling us your male acquaintances is better than the guys here is unbelievable.

Men of this generation cooks. I mean the educated ones. No biggie.

Sorry for typo errors, uncoordinated contexts, grammatical blunders and malapropism. I just stressed and fatigued.
