Did you know Hausa is one of the languages you can use on Facebook? Infact it's the only Nigerian language set-up by Facebook

Really?

The people referred to as Cattle Rearers, are getting their language recognized, while sadly the insulters languages cannot even be Googled out on Google.

Very funny very funny. I think it's all about the number of people that communicate using the language. And the ease of translation.
Moreover you hardly see other tribes using their languages to communicate online but hausa websites and blogs are all over the place. Hell if BBC, voa., deutschville, cnbc etc. Can have radio services dedicated to the language what more reason does Facebook need to follow suit?

Hausa is actually the third most spoken language in Africa after arabic and swahilli, its spoken in countries like Niger, chad, sudan, gabon, ghana, Central African Republic, togo, cameroon, cote devoir and others with large percentages in these countries... its like the official language in Niger and chad republic

Most people that speak Hausa in Nigeria don't understand English and besides, Hausa is like a lingua franca in the North and it's used in many other countries.
