If the AC was fine, you won't need to refill gas. There is a leak that's why there is no gas.

Went to inspect a car some times back, inside Abuja hot scotching sun, I turned on the AC switch, Stayed for 5mins, no cooling, dealer was saying, bros, you know this ABUJA weather, until you drive the car for a while then the AC starts to cool. I popped hood, went to check compressor. Saw as the pipings had been cut and welded til it look like leprosy infested limbs. The magnetic clutch was not even picking up. I called the cow, to come see what he claimed is a tokunbo car, he said that was how he bought it. Unknown to him, I've copied the VIN, went to a VIO friend, who downloaded the details as a used car.

the airfilter if dirty will cause a restriction of airflow, naturally the IACV intake air control valve, will compensate for a drop in idle by allowing more air into the intake.

If your vehicle is going off when filter is installed, replace filter and clean or replace iacv if dirty.
