The point is, the presence or absence of science and technology does not make them backward. Progress for a nation is more mental and spiritual than scientific. Christianity and islam have many rules- many of which are outdated and senseless. Only a few religious rules make sense today.


The difference between that pythagoras theorem and religious rule is that science has expanded, tested and further applied the pythagoras theorem to different applications. Religion, on the other hand wants to remain the same- afterall, God is the same, yesterday, today and forever.

As far as I am concerned and those who belong to my school of thought , Christianity didn't hinder Africans or the so called Nigerians from self development. In fact, Christianity help shaped African school of thought as regard so many felt problems in the past. Do you want to blame Christianity for excess procreation of children by Africans,whom they aren't financially buoyant to cater for? Do you want to blame Christianity for the cause of uneducated Africans? Do you not know Christianity single handedly stop twins killing in part of Nigeria? What about the stoppage of human eaters in part of Eastern Nigeria? Do you want to blame Christianity for the shameless slave descendants of colour Americans that millions of of them stay out of schools or drop out of school? Are the Christians the ones that made Africans not to invest their ill got wealth in Africa ? Do you want to blame Christianity for some foolish beinge that would make money and ran away from their people, all in the name of “witchcraft " assumption and won't invest in their community but else where ? There exists too many advantages to the advent of Christianity in which it has added value. The reality is that most people that are well placed disconnect with people once become wealthy in African setting. It is basically the mentality of individuals that causes lukewarmness and it has nothing to do with Christianity. SELF DISCOVERY is the key to SELF DEVELOPMENT and this is the driving force to DEVELOPMENT TO the LARGER SOCIETY. This is absolutely lacking in today's Africa, precisely Nigeria,where people don't think out side the BOX. So,dont blame Christianity for a problem that had existed in your tradition before the Christianity. Point of correction Christianity didn't come to the world through white people but Bronze looking people ( Hebrews /Jews /Israel). In fact, Africans who came back were the major workers on the field that helped stop the unnecessary attachment to things that can naturally have no connection to Fetish things. Take for instance, measles,cholera etc. In the olden days, the herbalists made people believed it was the gods that causes such sickness, when in reality, heat and dirty environment are major causes of the aforementioned.
