Yes, every other thing you know about me is true EXCEPT for that one thing: I am MALE, and not female. So why did I register as mavenbox(f)?

I have quite a following on facebook due to my articles and status messages there, and some of the more inquisitive ones were trying to uncover my Nairaland ID when I came here so I registered as mavenbox(f) to throw them off track even if they noticed similarities in the writing styles. Also, many of my articles on Nairaland were also posted on facebook, so friends of friends may make the connection between me and mavenbox.

Then, for more effect, I used a female friend's set of pictures for my profile to further increase my privacy and throw those girls from facebook off-track. Under the guise of a female poster, I was kinda safe from prying eyes. I am a really good actor, so I was able to pull it off: I actually put myself into the mind of a highly enlightened young lady around my age, and I acted as I typed

1. Unfortunately, as a fresh Nairaland member, I got a little popular after my arguments with Abuzola and Olabowale on a Muslim thread the day after I registered, and the (f) beside my name got noticed. That was why I reacted harshly whenever Olabowale started talking about women and other things: I AM MALE, and my attempt at protecting my privacy was spiralling out of control.

2. This was also why I always used to react harshly whenever guys make a coy pass at me on NL, because I am MALE. But I was always very nice to the ladies, just because. . . Note that I never particularly referred to my own gender?

3. I never said anything about my relationship because I am MALE. rather, I would just say "My honeybunny" without reference to gender.

4. When my run-ins with NL people who saw me as a controversial female got too many, I tried to quit NL in December but many people implored me to stay. Reluctantly, I stayed, and I still had that (f) beside my name. I thought of telling everyone but again I didn't. I just removed the gender (f) from my name and left it as mavenbox.

5. Finally, I had a very annoying argument with Deep Sight, where he claimed that I said Paradise is in Hell (it was rather a misrepresentation of my discourse), and I saw it as an opportunity to finally leave NL and the mavenbox(f) trouble I had started. But I felt like I owed you all the whole truth :p so I have returned, but with the right gender: Mavenbox(m). Please deal with it.

6. By the way, there were some few NL folk that knew my gender. They wouldn't referred to me as a lady or as a guy, if you were careful to observe. And my sincere apologies to Krayola and Deep Sight, they were the only two that I communicated with extensively outside NL and I never revealed my gender to them. Not until now.

oh please give us all a break . . . a release in your spirit for what? That we are particularly moved about thegender of faceless pple who post on an online forum? When I speak about a release in my spirit, what I mean, as you well know but are deliberately ignoring, is the fact that I know it was the right thing to do, and I went ahead and did it.

And that's what it means to be a Son: be ready to make amends for wrong, no matter what anyone says, thinks or does.

Thanks Ogaga. But I'm really not bothered, I only decided to login to NL again and set things straight. I am more concerned with doing the right thing here, than pleasing anyone.

Thus there should be no feeling of guilt in doing that.

Accordingly your talk about "a release in your spirit" is certainly another falsity - because there was no guilt in the first place.

And I see with Ogaga in that nothing you say (including the claims you have made in this thread) can ever be believed or taken seriously again.

Deep Sight, indeed there was guilt. I realized that the gender misrepresentation is considerably a lie. Not placing any gender would have been better, IMO.

As for all the other things I said, you have a right to believe them or not. I wish you all the best.

Edit: When I say I am not bothered, what I mean is that the guilt is past, and not that it never existed.

How can you confirm that? If you could deceive everybody so effectively on this forum including those you communicated with outside Nl or are you saying shehe is not as deceptive as you are? Trust me i know pilgrim.1 very well she has no probs with standing the truth on the head on a routine basis.

Tell me, who did I deceive? I never set out to deceive anyone, and I made it clear on the "Trial of Viaro" thread that the posts are far more important than the poster, on a forum like this. Whoever got deceived was concentrating on the person rather than the posts, and Im sorry if that happened because it wasn't my intention. Privacy was my intention.

As for those I communicated with outside NL, Deep Sight is here on this thread, and Krayola may join soon. You can ask Deep Sight if I deceived him at all about my gender. I just rather ignored any statements about it, or evaded it. I NEVER told him anything to insinuate my gender, we had conversations while playing chess but I NEVER deceived him. Here he is on the thread, ask him.

Your pre-occupation with viaro being pilgrim is not my business, so I have nothing to say on that.

Davidylan, which one na?  Abeg I respect the guts it takes to make this repentance.  It is a very hard thing to do to confess when you've gone a long way down with a lie.  The more you wriggle the deeper you sink.  

I had a similar situation recently.  I got stopped by the police for some bye-law offence.  I don't know what came over me but I started to formulate my story.  
'What's your name?'
'Alistair Macauley'
. . . .
. . ,
and so on and so forth.  I mixed it up with a fair bit of truth, like my residential address so when they checked they saw that it was a valid address.
A month later Alistair Macauley got a letter from the police asking him to come and receive a warning and that would be the end of the matter.  But alistair had to bring ID so I didn't go.

2 weeks later 3 police men turned up on my doorstep. "Emi nikan!", I thought. 3 whole police men.  They were looking for Alistair Macauley.  I said I don't know o, but my name is Pastor AIO.  They asked to come in and stupidly I let them in, they didn't have a warrant so I could have just told them to get lost.  They asked for my ID, I showed them.  Ah ha, one of them noticed that my date of birth was the same as Alistair Macauley's.  
I was just denying sha, and I said I knew someone like that that used to come around with my cousin and sometimes he would stay the night, but I didn't think he was devious enough to try to use my identity like this.  I acted aghast and disappointed.  
The police man almost started begging me, saying that this is just a minor offence and there is no need to drag it like that so if I know the guy I should tell them where he is.  The way the policeman kept repeating 'minor offence' and 'nothing to worry about' actually got me worried.  Something in the back of my mind said that if these guys catch me out now I'll be in serious trouble o because now it is not just a matter of parking in the wrong place but a matter of pride for them.  I'm trying to pull a fast one on them.  The more I wriggled, the deeper I sank into the lie but I just wanted to admit it yet I couldn't.
In the end the policemen left and I was in tatters.

Ol boy, once you start lying it's hard to reverse o!  I really respect you for that Mavenbox.  

Though I still suspect that there is some connection between you and Pilgrim if not that you are the same person.

I am an inquisitive person, and I know how to gather information about people using the web's deep search engines (people search engines) and so on. e.g. if you knew my real name (I know viaro's real name), you will find out many things about me if you are registered with deep searches.
