Thus in addittion to being a consumate liar you also recklessly abuse the privacy of other people by impersonating them? Did you have her permission to do that?

I do not believe your tall tales for one second. It is either -

  1. That picture was YOURS and you are as such female and trying to pull the wool over our eyes here

  2. That picture was NOT yours and you are as such callous by pretending to be someone else and callously posting that person's picture on an online public forum, passing it off as a picture of you.

As much as this will shock some of you, and may not even surprise a possibly greater number, I am MALE.

Yes, every other thing you know about me is true EXCEPT for that one thing: I am MALE, and not female. So why did I register as mavenbox(f)?

I have quite a following on facebook due to my articles and status messages there, and some of the more inquisitive ones were trying to uncover my Nairaland ID when I came here so I registered as mavenbox(f) to throw them off track even if they noticed similarities in the writing styles. Also, many of my articles on Nairaland were also posted on facebook, so friends of friends may make the connection between me and mavenbox.

Then, for more effect, I used a female friend's set of pictures for my profile to further increase my privacy and throw those girls from facebook off-track. Under the guise of a female poster, I was kinda safe from prying eyes. I am a really good actor, so I was able to pull it off: I actually put myself into the mind of a highly enlightened young lady around my age, and I acted as I typed Tongue

1. Unfortunately, as a fresh Nairaland member, I got a little popular after my arguments with Abuzola and Olabowale on a Muslim thread the day after I registered, and the (f) beside my name got noticed. That was why I reacted harshly whenever Olabowale started talking about women and other things: I AM MALE, and my attempt at protecting my privacy was spiralling out of control.

2. This was also why I always used to react harshly whenever guys make a coy pass at me on NL, because I am MALE. But I was always very nice to the ladies, just because. . . Wink Note that I never particularly referred to my own gender?

3. I never said anything about my relationship because I am MALE. rather, I would just say "My honeybunny" without reference to gender.

4. When my run-ins with NL people who saw me as a controversial female got too many, I tried to quit NL in December but many people implored me to stay. Reluctantly, I stayed, and I still had that (f) beside my name. I thought of telling everyone but again I didn't. I just removed the gender (f) from my name and left it as mavenbox.

5. Finally, I had a very annoying argument with Deep Sight, where he claimed that I said Paradise is in Hell (it was rather a misrepresentation of my discourse), and I saw it as an opportunity to finally leave NL and the mavenbox(f) trouble I had started. But I felt like I owed you all the whole truth :p so I have returned, but with the right gender: Mavenbox(m). Please deal with it.

6. By the way, there were some few NL folk that knew my gender. They wouldn't referred to me as a lady or as a guy, if you were careful to observe. And my sincere apologies to Krayola and Deep Sight, they were the only two that I communicated with extensively outside NL and I never revealed my gender to them. Not until now.

Deep sight, all I told you in our NL discussions &chat messages was true, from my chess skills to my educational status to my career path to my job description. And I truly believe everything I have posted on NL. As Pastor AIO has said, this gender stuff was quicksand, a lie that went too far. Im glad its in the open now. The only thing you believed and wasnt true is my gender. As for the profile picture, my good friend is a model so I can use her pictures anywhere, as she already gave full permission. If you search on stock photography sites you may just jam her. And as far as I know, Im allowed to use any picture for my profile. When someone finally asked if I was the one in the pic, i didnt reply directly but changed it to a cat then an eye. Then my account was banned and when I re-registered, I didnt put any pic. Eventually I used the current one. Sorry once again if you feel offended.

I do not believe your story about the friend being a model who gave you permission to use the picture.

But let's assume its the truth. There are still problems with that.

1. Nairaland is a Forum boasting almost half a million registered users: it is ranked among the top 200 forums in the world.

2. A great many people who view threads are not even registered members - in short: everything here is open to a vast array of people all over the world. Most importantly - only regular users come back for updates and new posts.

3. Thus many many people would have seen that photo and gone away with the impression that the person expressing your views was the lady in the photograph. A great many of those people may never return to this site to be informed about this great "confession" of yours.

4. Has it occurred to you that some people who saw that photo might know the lady in question - and then go off assuming that she is the person using the psuedonym Mavenbox and bandying about odd dogma such as intersections between heaven and hades.

Basically, taking permission does not remove the damage that may have been done to the privacy of that lady.

This is all the more so when you consider the fact that your reversion about haven taken permission is FALSE and a blatant AFTERTHOUGHT.

I strongly suggest you abandon all of this as it makes you come across as rather unbalanced. In the alternative contact a psychiatrist urgently.

Since this is a confession thread, I have one to confess lol. I am Arté who showed up 2 days ago here . I had no mischievious motives. This ID was unrighteously suspended by the "sophisticated" spambot for posting "spam" . . . After almost a week+ and no response from the mods I decided to open a new acct.

Jesoul just got liberated so I'm back to this id. Must say I did enjoy my 2 days undercover as Arté  was nice being able to discuss without previous "baggage".
