You will say why is obasanjo afraid of restructuring?

if you want to know stand of yorubas, consult afenifere.
Restructuring favours yorubas more than any tribe. You dont wonder why yorubas are granted self-rule before other regions in 1957 and was the fastest growing region in Africa as at independence!

The only region afraid of restructuring in Nigeria is the north.Infact, most yorubas support breakup.we only attack you guys because of nnamdi kanu statements like this:

Those who are beneficiaries of the present political structure would never wish for the rearrangement and realignment of the status quo. Thats to tell you how foolish and self centered our leaders can be.

Northerners are the current beneficiaries of this status quo and they would ensure nothing like restructuring or even disintegration sees the light of the day. They have the president, they have the numbers at the national assembly, they are united on national issues so we from the 5 percenters should go f*0*k ourselves, our Lord's the 97 percenters have spoken.

Nigeria lost it when it's citizens lost the spirit of nationalism, in America and other developed climes, you hear them consider what's best for the country before party lines and tribal lines...

Nigeria is so messed up

Nigeria has never been a nation that's inspired a sense of patriotism in this citizenry. It's always been what it is now, a nation of nations. With different people climbing and clawing at each other for a peace of the national cake. Nigeria will never be USA, because unlike USA, Nigerian's have different values, whether you're in the North, East or West, the value systems change and to a certain extent are at odds with one another.

Obasanjo's behaviour can be interpreted two ways, the first, that he's a advocate of the current system because he benefits from it and the second is that, he's simply an inept leader. I personally think it's a combination of the both, but I'm leaning more towards ineptitude than status quo advocation.

Olusegun Obasanjo says what Nigeria needs now is not restructuring of the country but that of individual mentality - He claimed he is not in support of restructuring agitation

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQOHbZRAsc0

The former president however called on Nigerians to understand their country as he distanced himself from ongoing calls for the country's restructuring by some Nigerians home and abroad.

Obasanjo who made this known on the sidelines of the just concluded African leadership forum in Johannesburg said Nigerians should restructure their minds before calling for restructuring of the country.

what do you know about system of governance? just take time to sit down and analyze the problem you see in the present day Nigeria and ask how disintegration is going to address that.

Even the so called agitations is already doing forced marriage of other states without recourse to the stakeholders of those states.

I have asked severally, what's the roadmap for developments, administrations, enforcement and integrations of the so called "disintegration" ? there's none and if you have then tell me.

presently disintegration amounts to going South Sudan way, who were clamoring for same thing without any roadmap and when they got it, they realised too late.

Brexit already have roadmap and direction and every system in place.

Until we go back to what Britain gave us subtracting the useless thought that they gave Northerners military might, because the Southerners are quite intelligence and contemporary positioned. The geopolitical structure they left us with is best for us as we will have Nations in a country just has they have Scotland, Wales, England, Northern Ireland and the Isles.
A wrong perspective destroys a good course.
But above all Nigerian citizens have deteriorated in morals other than our political structure. Until we learn to do things in fairness without expecting monetary gratification, then will we start to build better place to be.

every individual has a right to self determination. While I am not in support of disintegration, I strongly condemn anybody who insists that unity is by force. Every human should have a right to choose his or her destiny. Nevertheless, what Nigeria needs is complete RESTRUCTURING. Even in the United States where we borrowed our democracy from, they practice complete federalism. Everybody is allowed to speak their mind. But in Nigeria, a particular group dictates what happens in the country without contributing a dime to the economy . And yet, they get the biggest share from the so called budget. I will see what Nigeria will do when oil eventually becomes useless worldwide. From the bottom of my heart, I condemn anybody who insists on robbing peter to pay Paul.

You know what will happen when oil becomes irrelevant, the nation will disintegrate.

Northerners are only interested in what they can get out of Nigeria, in fact, ALL Nigerian's are only interested in what they can get from the nation, whether they be Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa-Fulani.

Yoruba and Hausa-Fulani people are the only groups that currently benefit from being in Nigeria, the Yoruba's benefit by having Lagos situated in their land, and the North enjoys by from having a constitution that benefits them to the detriment of the nation at large.

If you remove these two benefits, i.e. give Lagos special status and alter the constitution, then both groups Yoruba and Hausa-Fulani people would quickly join Igbo people in their clamour for their own sovereign nations.

In a country where there's no real sense of patriotism, if you have ask yourself, why, for example, a Yoruba person can be an advocate for the unity of Nigeria, but at the same time, hate Hausa people, or hate Igbo people, it's because he/she is only looking at Nigeria from what he/she benefit from it.
