Sorry to butt in but no one knows Jesus' birthday. I don't think the Gregorian calendar was already in use when Jesus was born so who chose Dec 25 as his birthday and why?
He can celebrate Christmas, it's a public end of the year holiday. And to observe Christmas means to recognize it as a holiday, not necessarily to celebrate it.
