at last we have something worth cheering for which will not bore holes in people's

At all let me paint a scenario.

For a Nigerian tired of watching the local channels that can be very boring at times

DSTV dish+decoder= say N15,000+N1500(1month subscription)=N16,500

HITV dish+decoder= say N15,000+N1800(1month subscription)=N16,800

EW3A dish+decoder= say N15,000(FAIRLY NEW EQUIPMENTS)=N15,000

STAR TV decoder= say N10,000 (1000 month subscription)=N11,000

JOY TV dish+decoder= say N19,000(0 month subscription)=N19,000

According to some Ghana members here, Multi tv's new decoder comes with a card reader plus the fact that they have been threatening with encryption. So anything can happen at anytime.

Star tv will go the way of hitv&dstv i.e from N1000 Before now. Resently we are hearing N1800. Later N2500 to N5000/month

Point of correction, multi tv has never shown champion league but CRTV does.
So for multi tv users they have an option to watch champion league, EUPA CUP, epl and other league. And with this infinity that is about coming we have better option than star tv

Great people of Nairaland !!! One thing i want you guys to understand is that Star TV has come to stay and has come to do what ill describe as "COLONIZATION" Its just too much to pay 6000 to a company for just a month. it is more than many people salary and people almost believe now that its only the rich who should have the so called "VTSD".

Another thing i want to point out to you guys is that Star TV is brought to Nigeria under the ideal of a china company and our own NTA
I hope we can all remember what happens to GSM when the china people came into market. How about the issue of phone network operators? Monopoly rules the market under "NMT"until "GLOBE" open our eye to realize our en-slavery.

I am pretty sure that Star TV will not crash-land or increase tariff like recent people and that they are here to stay.

The NTA u mentioned can even make things worse. If not for AIT we wouldn't have been enjoying good programmes. NTA is very conservative, improved a bit under ben bruce but went back into retardation after the exit of bruce. NTA may clamour for the downfall later. See what they did to AIT< CHANNELS etc in 1999 cus of competition
