I attended a marriage in a Catholic Church in AkwaIbom. When it was time for offering it was row by row... everyone on each row gets up dances to the front and put something in the tray or box provided.

If you're wise and truly born again giving isn't an issue to sermon over and over for you .it comes out naturally from you realising what Christ has done for you , and your profession of absolute surrender , loyalty to the word of God .
I still want to point out that the Bible makes it clear that it should be without necessity or coercion but with all cheerfulness. When you feel coerced , check it and yourself .Bless you

you don't need to be born a witness to become a witness, I was converted, I enjoy every thing about them, if is not Jw, I don't think I can attend any other church. I was born and bred in catholic. All you need to do to become a Jw is to be grounded in the scriptures, you will be asked some questions on what you have learnt on your bible studies, then get baptized.

The scriptures even said that it is more pleasant to give than to receive. Concerning tithe, as for me there's nothing like tithing because it only existed in the old testament and I'm believer of new testament.

Mentioning a pentecostal church you attended for like three months within which they focused majorly on tithe and offering would do more to your contribution here than a general and sweeping statement.


The Catholic Church is not joining them. She is at the forefront of reaping members of through bazaar, raffle draws, first and second collection, annual dues for men and women, launching and booking of mass then new ones like family harvest. One can go on and on mentioning different schemes designed to rake in money, for the church.


Money for those orphanages dint come from the regular offerings of the church, I hope you know that, it is from a special offering they take for them and even for seminary.

It all comes after the main church offering..., they start it from the second offering when they will announce it and who it is going for.

Who told you offering is not optional?

Obviously you have not been to Apostolic faith, we don't collect offering too since 1906. Jesus the light of the world.
