Lmao....no wonder you didn't mention me because you know you're saying absolute thrash. Which Saudi Arabia has one of he top 20 universities? Is it the Saudi Arabia in your bedroom or the one in the middle East.

Saudi Arabian women are more educated than women in the Western world in which planet? Which Saudi woman qualifies to wipe the shoes of Marie Curie when it comes to education? Lmao...keep lying, stupid people will believe you.

Also if they were so comfortable with their laws why are they either desperately trying to leave the country or setting themselves ablaze?
killsmith:
don't mind that lady. She's willing to spill lies in order win her arguments. Saudi Arabia has one of the top 20 universities in the world and their women are far educated than the so called West. Yet, when there is a poll to remove the restrictions on women, their women vote against it.... This lady is ignorant of the fact that Saudi Arabian women detest the western world and their ideologies.

You know that the bold is a bared-faced lie. Which agency ranked them? AWRU, QS or THE? There is no Saudi university in the top 50 and most likely 100 across the agencies listed - which are the recognised agencies for ranking tertiary institutions globally. While on that, the VAST majority of top schools are western based. How can you say Saudi women are more educated than western females? Even a Japanese male won't utter such ridiculous statement

@Topic: Kudos to Amberon11. Insightful posts made. However, my issue with modern day feminism is telling me that women ought to be paid equally than men even in face of maternity leave, long hours, advanced qualifications, negotiation power. Another is quota based employment, a subtle form of mediocrity. Nothing wrong with feminism, but I believe modern day feminists have lost it.

@ bolded, are you really this ignorant or you're just pretending to be? I come from a family of lawyers (even though I'm not one) so I'm not a novice to the law and I suggest you stop saying rubbish that you know nothing about. Listen , there is no offense in this world (in a democracy not the babaric middle East Sharia states)
for which the suspect is guilty until proven innocent. That is the "daftest" thing I've heard all year. Even though you kill someone you are always innocent until proven guilty.

And please Nigeria is not misandristic, it is rather misorgynist. It is only in the middle East that a woman will be raped wit overwhelming evidence and still be jailed for it, not in civilized Western societies.

Very daft questions that don't even need answers. So all the other bridges in the world that have been collapsing were made by women? I asked a question which you've not answered, have you deployed women soldiers to the battlefield and they said they wouldn't go?

Lmao.... saying women should forgo maternity leaves. Well we will forgo maternity leave when you men develope a vagina and start bearing kids. How about that?

You are so laughable, Lmao. Check out the picture below. Only in Saudi Arabia...Lmao.

killsmith:
you are not smart at what you do. Saudi Arabian women have voted for these laws over and over again because they do not want to be influenced by the western societies. Despite these misogynistic laws, they are still one of the most educated women in the world, even more educated than their male counterparts. Don't try to twist the truth because you want to win an argument. Let me ask you again, our society is misandric and strict to men. If we are both drunk and we have sex, it is considered rape. And in rape cases, a man is guilty until proven innocent. You women are not drafted in wars. Men fight all the wars. Men build all the structures. Men are wholly responsible for pushing civilization to this level.

What have you women done?

The bridge built by female feminists to prove that women can do what men do, collapsed in a week and killed people. What do you women do for society? What do you want? How are you oppressed?

What steps have you made in pushing a bill to the National assembly to ensure that you get drafted in the army during war?

After sensitizing the public via social media, what is your next step?

How about the break/leave you get in your place of work for being pregnant or give birth, Are you willing to forfeit it?

you cannot want equality and at the same time still want to be treated differently.....

Do you wholly agree that a man should beat a woman to stupor if the woman hits him first?
Because that is how we'll treat you women when you finally get your equality. Equal rights, equal fights....
We'll treat you women like men

Truth is that some women mistake misandrism for feminism. They perpetuate their hatred for men under the aegis of feminism (a women's movement that orchestrates for the social, political and economical equality of women with the male sex).

God may have made the male a head of a family but not the sole leader of a society among the sexes. In the present patriarchal society structure that exists today, women are neglected and treated as inconsequential beings. Is this the type of system that God designed? This is what feminism is trying to redress and adjust so that the females will be treated just as the males - particularly in Africa.

This lends credence to the OP's statement, Feminism is anti-religion, anti-God and only canvassed by people with a zero tolerance for God's work.

religions that are known for denigrating and subjugating women -Useless religions.

I believe in God/supernatural but I don't believe in the Bible one bit because it was made up by sexist and misogynist pigs who call themselves men.

I don't see any reason why any sane feminist should be a Christian -a religion that doesn't value women.

I look forward to the day the Catholic Church would elect a female pope.

Does gender pay-gap exist in Nigeria?
Most structured organisations pay according to the level. These levels are based on educational/qualification basis. I have never seen one that's done by gender.

Quota based employment is mediocrity. If a woman wants a slot, then she should prove herself capable of it. Just like men, a woman isn't deserving of an automatic slot, just because she has a vagina.

uhm! Feminism is only but an imperfect instrument which the lord allowed and used to change the horror of enslavement that men lashed towards women
We humans have this repetitive and constant fault which is to carry out things on the extreme or something I was taught in school called sequestration (carrying something out of context). the hierarchy between gender is meant mostly on the basis of family..outside that that women have equal right and participation in order institutional affairs.
In the battle between good and evil Satan the architect of mans oppression towards women is the same who knew and which will all must acknowledge that when you use force on another being, there is the possibility of a resistance. also knowing that God will intervene had to corrupt the very idea of feminism, thus that which would serve for good also served for evil, just like the commandments but God succeeds in the end to those who define their very acts in feminism according to his will.

You asked and I shall tell you

Its the same insecurity that made you not to complete the list you started by extending it to the domestic front.

Sharing family resposibilities like wanting he man to cook, prepare the child(ren).

Same insecurity that made them reject women as house wifes.

Same insecurity that made them not realize women have their own purpose as divinely stated and being the head of the family is not one of them.

By the way if it is not insecurity then why is Chimamanda Adichie not here in Nigeria fighting all those things you stated above which are obviously prevalent in Africa.

God didn't make men head of anything.

Feminists don't hate men, but if the ones you know do-

The hatred feminists have for men is 100% justified.

Men have made women pass through agony over the centuries -
Banning/barring women from voting
Barring them from working

Barring them from getting education

Treating women like properties and weak vessels.

Sorry man, the hatred is justified.

No, that's not what I meant. A sane man will never take his woman for granted. He'll never abuse her in any way or form. With all things being equal, a woman can thrive socially and economically while keeping her home only if she humbles herself and submits to the man. Its not a slave and slave master relationship. I hope you understand bro. Stay blessed.

Whenever you read about a lady condemning feminism or saying shït about keeping her marriage, know that she's -

Depending on a man for survival

Suffering from Stockholm syndrome

Ignorant -

The fact that you're dependent on a man for survival or you want to get married desperately doesn't mean you should ridicule the feminist movement because it makes you sound more stupid than the men you are trying to impress.

Last time I'll comment on any feminism thread on this platform .

Some people are so confused that they always mix feminism with marriage and forget about issues talking about family, marriage blah blah.

I am liberal in ideology and I believe it is a free world and when I marry I must practice equality with my husband in equal rights and responsibilities.

Feminism is deep and everyone cannot believe or support it whatever rocks their boat but as for me I am a feminist and I believe in some of it's cause.
And nobody can come and tell me otherwise because I do not subscribe to religion and whomever I marry must reject every belief that contains misogyny, chauvinism or any primitive view of women or that men are superior to women because of genitals.

And as for anti feminist,it is only a matter of time women would have those rights even if it is in marriage.Feminism is not only about marriage or family it is more than that so if you like say it is the devil or Satan that brought feminism na your problem be that.Feminism has come to stay.

Izognok:
The definition "Feminism" has been distorted.

For me, this lady on twitter has missed the point just like most men praising her that women should be under men. Go and read Proverbs 31:10-31 again.

The definition of a helper is not a disadvantage. Many times women put themselves on the line. A very good example of someone who recognised that he was number 2 despite the fact that he supposed to be number 1 by inheritance was Jonathan. He was the most loyal friend of David. He was the stronger one in that relationship if you read the story very well because at that point, he covered David's weaknesses. So, number 2 can be the main engine many times, and this is what the Bible calls them in the book of proverbs. The Bible even says that she provides for her family. Just read proverbs 31 - she is the main person in the family. Without her, there is no family.

Our culture in Africa has done so much harm, and has distorted this subject. Women are helpers (not slaves) which is saying they are exact same as men. They are not under men. However, there is a saying "Only one leader at every point in life". Man might be the leader of the home as ordained by the Bible, but not the chief in commander.

Treat your wife as your equal. If she is better than you in some areas, be truthful to yourself and let her handle the areas.

She is as important as him. In my opinion, she has a more vital role to pay.

Helpers can be better, stronger, or more intelligent at times. Just like Osinbajo playing a vital role as number 2 in Nigeria with his boss having a lower IQ. It is not easy. But Osinbajo always check with his boss before making most important decisions. Whenever people start singing his praises to start friction between him and his boss, he has a way of moving behind the scene. Very intelligent man. I predict that this man is the next president of Nigeria if President Buhari wins the next election. And then maybe we will understand that God just used the Buhari vehicle to take him to the seat. An ordinary commissioner now breaking grounds. Lol. I respect this man so much. Small size man with a magnificient brain. Waoooooo! Same with women. They are damn smart.

If you find a wife, you have found a good thing. Guy, your number 2 at home is your equal. She is just you. It is just a priviledge that you are recognised as number 1 by the Bible and most culture all the world. You did not earn it. But seriously, she is the exact same thing as you. The earlier you realise it, the better for you. Your leadership position is just ceremonial. You must work hard to really earn it. Patience, tolerance, perseverance are qualities you must develop to earn it. And top it with the ability of making good decisions at all times.

I always recognize smart ladies. Smart girls are competitive. There is nothing wrong in it. I have a female friend who has been challenging me recently, . Most times she says" you this man! You are too smart". But the only way I always check her is to allow her have her ways. And then, I put in cautions. Intelligent girls are the easiest to handle. Just stand your ground. Let her do all the "shakara", but still put your feet firmly on the ground. Let her go against all the agreements you have on ground, because they are good in that when they want to get at you. They do it deliberately. Just be polite and stand on your ground firmly. Never call her out publicly even if she does. Never call her out on social media even she is an expert in it grin. Never! Protect her. She will be the one who will get tired. And the moment you break through, she will stop abusing the freedom of expression you both have. What most do not know is that they want men who can handle them excellently. I can recall what she said recently "there is no man that has handled (checked) me the way you have". grin It does not mean she will not be confrontational the next minute. They are competitive in nature. Lol.

The most effective way is to talk to her first. If you guys cannot reach an agreement easily just be silent. Silent works magic.

She makes him. Behind every succesful man, there is a woman. It is a fact I will defend everywhere. But there are succesful women that men are not in their lives.
You are generalizing, if your father or brother or boyfriend or husband is a jerk, I am not a jerk, many times I seek for ideas from my YOUNGER sister and my mother, Yes! I am proud to say it because it works most times.

HeWrites:
According to a Nigerian lady on Twitter, feminism is a rebellion against God's established order, she says both genders are equally precious in the eyes of God and we don't need feminism to help us realise that.

Read her tweets below;
"Most feminists aren’t too fond of God’s design for gender. They don’t like the idea of the man being dubbed as the primary leader, initiator, and provider. They don’t like the idea of Eve being created as a helper to Adam.

Feminism has rejected God as the ultimate authority for life and instead placed herself on the throne. The god of feminism pridefully says, “I know better than God and will live out my womanhood how I think is best.”

At its root, feminism is built upon a foundation completely devoid of God. The feminist movement is woven with the same sin Satan committed in the beginning. A rebellious heart that pridefully says, “I don’t need you, God. Thanks, but I’ll do things my way.”

When we reject God’s created order and purposes for our lives as women, we will not find lasting happiness. We don’t need feminism to inform us of our worth and value.

God already says we’re equally valuable. We don’t need to become feminists to promote this area of biblical teaching. What we do need is to lovingly show all women how valuable and precious they are to God.

We need to re-embrace God’s design for marriage, family, dignity of life, and sexuality. We need to repent of our pride and accept God’s Word as the authority in our lives.

Feminism has never offered a solution that the Bible hasn’t already taken care of.

God’s Word has all the answers we need. In Christ, we (men and women) will find all the fulfillment, worth, value and purpose this life has to offer!heart♥️"

Feminism to me has to be seen as a way of given women right, freedom and special way of living but not to see as away to equate them with men because according to the scriptures women will always remain helper to their men no matter how you try hard men will always be above women but not a slave..

Especially since the white people began propagating that gayism and lesbianism are natural and allowed, such that men should be accorded support to marry fellow men and likewise women. Since then I have developed a suspicious lens with which I view their feminism.

On the issue I think we need to reorient our ladies and sisters. They are being misguided to accept an abomination of the name of the norm. By anatomy our sisters are limited from doing a lot of things.

Honestly I don't know why this feminism issue attracts so much criticism. What is wrong in demanding equity and justice? It is this anti-feminism/misorgyny that has resulted in the proliferation of wife beaters and our society makes that look cool as they'd always blame the women saying women run their mouths too much but these same men would not dare hit their female bosses or even make colleagues.

They only quote the part of the Bible that tells women to submit to their husbands but not the part that says men should love their wives even as Christ loved the church and gave his life for it.

@Jasonscoolari,must you mention me?

Any woman against feminism is a fool. At a time women could not vote, women could not work and belonged to the kitchen, women are expected to be seen as hoes wen dey fuk around bt men as dons, we have seen pple like arouma oteh akunyili and other okonjo who suppose to be in the kitchen. But made waves in male dominated sectors. Nonsense weak tweeter
if not for feminism, she wont have the priviledge of holding the phone she is using to type nonsense.
