Poor me, what do I know.

I have always thought akata is much smaller than jackal.

I see jackal as a pack of wild dogs.
There’s an African wild dog too which can also be called Aja Igbo( bush dog) or akata. It depends on how you want to call it.

95% of them have all been killed from yoruba land. Shame. There is no tiger in africa so why would yoruba have a name for it
The tiger doesn’t really have a Yoruba name to be precise but it was sometimes referred to as Ogidan Olola iju (the barber of the jungle due to it’s sharp claws).
Ekun is a name originally for the leopard but can also be used for the tiger too.

Incorrect
Toad Àkèré (Akee)
Frog Opolo
You don't eat Opolo (frog), even this forthcoming Yoruba proverb proves it. Bi Aba mu Opolo tio jo Kònkò, aa juule ni"

Which one is Okinrin is Okinrin? So the animal has no english name or what?

Okinrin is thorns in English so it’s not an animal but there’s Okunrun which is called a Millipede or Centipede in English.
