Marrying and still being lonely is the worst thing that could happen to any one. I sincerely pray & hope that pastor Chris comes back to his senses one of these days

Nonsense and Ten Pence! It's always the woman's fault with all of you angry
What of the man that marries a woman for convenience and the woman ends up developing feelings for him while he doesn't? What of men suffering from Narcissistic Personality Disorder or Borderline personality disorder? What of men whose craving for power dwarves every human emotion they have?

Nice points but are you also aware a good woman is powerful enough to control a man more than he can control himself?

Maybe not immediately but in the long run?

This has got nothing to do with the OP by the way.

But, why did Pastor Chris let his marriage die? Can somebody who knows more about them explain the details to me?

Even if the wife wasn't fantastic, couldn't he bear her and carry her as his cross? I know of a great man of God that the wife was unfaithful to. He caught her and as painful as it was, he forgave her for the sake of the ministry.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s ex-wife, Anita in a new blog post wrote about a couple who happy on the outside but are facing the reality of a dead marriage. According to Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s ex-wife, a spouse who is at the center of a 'dead marriage', sometimes end up spending many years of endless hope in anticipation for a change, enduring a relationship that is bereft of life. Her blog post has been linked to what allegedly happened in her marriage.

Read what she wrote below;

Happy Anniversary to the best couple in the world

Wife : Hello

Husband: How are you?
Wife: I amgood. How is your day?
Husband : Good
Wife : Today is our anniversary. Happy Anniversary.
Husband : Happy anniversary.
Wife : I noticed many greetings on social media wishing us a happy anniversary. I find it confusing to read comments from your close friends saying “ best couple in the world”; it sounds like a complete joke, when they know we rarely see each other. We see each other at most ten days in a year; I can’t understand their reason for making this comment, such flattery. It is confusing to me.

Husband : Well, at least they sent their greetings.
Wife : Their greetings are on social media, no contact by text or by email.
Husband : Silence
Wife : Hello
Husband : Yes

Wife : I sometimes wonder if we are married. There is nothing more to this relationship to indicate we are married apart from a ring on my finger; the ring is another story and our pictures are interjected because we are rarely together to take a proper picture. I feel sad that we are not together.

Husband : Look, I have told you over and over again that we cannot live in the same country because we are very busy and one country is too small for both of us. I expect you should be able to figure that out.
Wife : One country is too small for us?

Husband : Yes and you keep coming back to ask the same question.
Wife : Okay. Since you don’t often call either, please call the children, at least once a month. They go on for months without speaking with you. I noticed they don’t seem to care anymore.

Husband : Okay
Wife : That is about all.
Husband : Silence (breathing sound)
Wife : Have a beautiful day.
Husband : Silence (breathing sound)
Wife : Bye
Husband : Silence (breathing sound)
Wife : Hello
Husband : Silence (Goes off the Phone)

Wife : Okay

Facing the reality of a dead marriage, where a spouse spends many years of endless hope in anticipation for a change, enduring a relationship that is bereft of life. Believe it or not, this was somebody’s experience and is another person’s state of affair.
There is so much in life to be enjoyed.

Instead of this why not encourage communication and sensitivity to your partner's need and desire in marriage.

That conversation was just selfish, lack of understanding and outright irresponsible.

This is the beginning of divorce.

He doesn't know that divorce dey tire divorcees.

How many times e wan even divorce sef?

An average divorcee is not even trusted in a new relationship because he/she is mostly viewed from the prism of divorce.

True! It was she who filed for divorce after she couldn't cope with the height of frustration. I hope you're aware that Pastor Chris visited the UK one time and never bothered to see her despite being apart for over two years or more? She only got to see her supposed husband on the television and he barely attended to her calls when she placed them.

She was always told by those around him that he was busy and he never acknowledged those calls or returned them. Any human would have been frustrated by his actions and he clearly didn't seem to care. It was he who sent her to the UK to manage their church there and ended up forgetting about her. Pastor Chris might have been untouchable and clearly had his minions who defended him and demonized the poor woman, it still doesn't deny the fact that the man failed at managing his home. One cannot neglect the needs of his/her partner in marriage and expect things to run smoothly. She clearly wanted out because she could no longer take it.

That's Born Again Christians' attitude. You people think you have it all figured out, but you don't.
You constantly humiliate yourselves when you dont meet the same bars you set for yourselves.
You are the first ones to do the worst of sins.

Being Born Again means nothing.

Sometimes the earlier you accept that things are dead and no amount of CPR will bring that relationship back to life the better instead of masquerading in pretence. I am sure they counselled other couples regarding their marriages.
How you gonna win when you ain't right within?

None of you replying are married, have you asked yourself what made the man to travel? Before a man dies emotionally go and check the wife that he is married to. Most men are good husbands but the attitudes of these wivies drive them towards a direction that they will start to find happiness elsewhere.
Hmmmm! "Experience" they say "is the best teacher", if you think you are 100% compatible, how about external prevailing factors eg INLAWS, ECONOMY, HEALTH ISSUES etc? Think twice; think deep before you cast a stone.

That's the problem I feel a lot of folks have with Christians, you feel we don't make mistakes, we do make wrong decisions and even go over board. We do, bro ... let me speak for my self, I do... but what makes the difference is in your ability to come back to God humbly and guess what ? He is already waiting for you.

Smart post.. Its what aint right within.. One persons selfish interest, insensitivity, doggedness and dunderheadedness can cause a whole lot shits to spiral out of control beyond redemption. People usually do cause problems for themseles and other people unconsciously with their warped psychology.

As far as I am concerned Chris is far away in the city of Ephasus where so mightly grew the word of God and prevailed ..he ain't looking back..

Being born again means nothing.. Am lost..? Why did the holy book say one must be born again? Except there be a misinterpretation of what being Born again really connotes?

Yes, she was the one but it appears like Pastor Chris didn't try hard enough to keep the marriage going. From what she wrote up there, it's obvious she was starved of attention. You can't be too busy (even with ministry) to starve your wife of attention as a man, pastor or not.

Question should be why should a wife head the UK church and husband head Nigerian church? What time do they have in a year to spend as hubby and wife. Only during leadership conferences held in Nigeria. How does a marriage survive in this condition. Couples are bound to drift apart na.

Just my personal take: I think having come such a long way together and it seems there were no reported issues of physical abuse or infidelity, she should just have endured until he became old and tired as will inevitably happen and then she will have him all to herself! A lot of 'enjoyable' things don't matter any more after a certain age and couples just grow old together peacefully.

My dear, I just don't understand. That's the root of their marital crisis. Couples shouldn't be apart except when there isn't any other option, and it shouldn't even be for long. Even when it happens, they should endeavor to spend quality time together as often as possible so that they won't give the enemy room to infiltrate their marriage.

The worst thing that can happen to any one is to be in an enduring marriage, unfortunately some religious cabals will encourage their members to rather die in there than divorce.

Something similar to this is happening in my friends marriage.
Her husband has suggested they rent apartment very far away from their residential home for my friends school business. And the man has also suggest that
my friend being his wife and children should stay over there from Monday to come back to their resident on Friday with their two kids. Although my friend has been rejecting this offer while the husband keeps on pushing for it. Meanwhile this man keeps late nights everyday without explanation.

Although i be told her to take this offer.

Pls what do u think.
