I never understood what kind of marriage a man runs with his wife abroad as a pastor. When he has his brothers in the ministry, that they can handle the UK church. Big mistake. After God, come your spouse and then church. How does he want to counsel couples with marital challenge now?

If she had a bad attitude according to some people here then why the court injunction on her to not say anything or grant any interview on the matter? Why didn't they explain to thier guilible church members what happened? Why the issue of "the matter is to high for you" whenever good questions were raised concerning the matter? A woman wants ALL her husband's time to her self alone, was she not aware he's a pastor b4 she married him? why disturbing him about spending much time together? The media (including social media) has destroyed many marriages. People now assume that divorce is the answer to everything. They would divorce at the drop of a hat, remarry and then divorce again. Think about it, the divorce rate for second marriages is higher than the divorce rate for first marriages.

Just my personal take: I think having come such a long way together and it seems there were no reported issues of physical abuse or infidelity, she should just have endured until he became old and tired as will inevitably happen and then she will have him all to herself! I am a man but this opinion of yours is rather kind of selfish. What is the essence of a marriage when couples cannot enjoy their youthfulness together? And relive these moments in their old age? Why do they have to wait till their old age before enjoying each other? This does not make sense. The marriage could as well have waited till their old age then.

That is a lie. The woman was ready to live together as family with Pastor Chris. Pastor Chris was the one always insisting they must live apart. Please stop spreading lies. This insistence of them leaving apart is why she filed for divorce.

You should not be quick to judge her. I don't think it was easy for her to ask for a divorce. She didn't want to stay in an uncommitted relationship with her husband even though clearly she loves him. Loneliness in a relationship is one of the worst things you can go through and it's better to be single than to be in that kind of relationship. Believe me I've been there She probably asked for a divorce hoping it would make him come to his senses and realised he was neglecting her but the man was already far gone. She had to see it to the end because his non protest of the divorce showed he didn't care anymore. His thirst for power and influence was more important than his marriage.

Chris and Anita's case is what most pastors would preach against during minsterial/leadership trainings. 'A pastor who succeeds in his ministry but fails to hold his family together has failed in all'. He neglected the poor woman in the name of God's work and ended up turning the church against her after the divorce for 'being carnal' just because she raised concerns about her physical needs and how her husband has denied her.

And there is the case of Adultery - Anita accused Pastor Chris of having an extra marital affair with his secretary whom he spends time with the most. She blew hot and claimed she had proofs before reports of Church elders visited her to 'hear her side of the story' and everything died down.

I have always been a fan of Pastor Chris. As a matter of fact, I believe he is the best teacher of the Word ever to come out of Nigeria. But he failed. Couples have needs, mostly physical obligations to themselves. If he could believe the wife was 'carnal' for voicing her mind then I strongly pity every young, single believer who take counseling from a Church as Christ Embassy. Pastor Chris failed.
