Well,my plan is
1. It will serve as a home dog and
2. A pioneer dog for my Gsd kennel
Making plans to start with a female first

As Vincentjk asked you, for what purpose?

2. Watch dog
And maybe i add

4. Just pet

I encourage u to consider these few things.
A. What u love: you have to go for a breed of dog u cherish, reasons u ought to know best, cos this will go along way making u taking good care of the dog.
You know getting a quality pup is the 1st step.
(Ai) taking good care of the dog is another step.

B.) You ought to consider the place you reside and what breed that dominates and way to break even as u said u want to set up a kennel.

E.g i have seen people confessing their love for
1. big dogs : in this case they so much want COs, GDs TMs tho not that popular.
2. Muscle dogs: here they like BBs, BMs, CCs, e.t.c
3. Then agility and working, you talk bout GSD.
i trust this will be a guild.
