Why is it when you Yorubas are defeated you turn to insults?
even if you have the word Oba in your Yoruba language, you never used it as a title for your kings till after Benin kings started using it.. You copied it from Benin stop denying..
Oba is a benin word even if it doesn't mean king, it means shining in Benin.. just like Alaafin or Ooni doesn't mean king in yoruba language but a title adopted by your rulers.

was benin using the word oba before they met Oranmiyan ? what is the difference between the Ogiso and Oba ? why do they drop ogiso for Oba ?which of their kings used the word Oba before Eweka ?

Your problem is you copy and paste anything you see. Like I mentioned elsewhere before, I grew up in a house with a rich library. Books and journal articles were written in my presence. For you anything written is impressive.

Not me who saw history being written and can discern.

You will probably learn that with time. Experience is the best teacher.

Well, Muslim scholars wrote your history and gave you Yoruba/Yoruba name. My part of SW is Ado-Akure.

Not Islamic baptismal name. To tell them Alakubar to correct your history. grin

Wow you are Ado-Akure. I'm a prince of akure

what does omo noba nedo means according to u then

'Omo N'Oba N'Edo' translates to "the son of the king in Edo." Originally, it was "Omo Oba ni Ado," signifying the connection between Ife and Benin, highlighting the Oba of Benin's lineage from the Oba of Ile-Ife. In ancient times, "Ado" referred to Edo as called by Ile-Ife.
