This is pure travesty. Christianity is of faith and such guidelines are against the tenants of our Christian faith.

I was brought up in a godly home where my parents thought us the applications of Faith. If we believe Christ is above sickness, why then are we distancing right in his church.

@bolded is called indoctrination. You were not given a choice. Mind you, good moral is different from being religious.

Thieves. If you have sense don't listen to these thieves ooo.

Why did God commanded the Israelites to quarantine the infectious? Why can't they argue that sheybi God can heal them if they gather together with others in the temple?

If we believe Christ is above sickness, why then are we looking for a cure for COVID-19?

If churches and mosques were closed because of covid19, what purpose do they even serve in the first place..?

In a world where everything is becoming faster and we are getting used to the fastlane I can understand why people will want church to automatically become a magic center. Quite interesting.

There is Smtn called testing God. It’s recorded in the Bible and many pastors and faith preachers have not explained in detail to the church what testing God means. They are silent on it yet Jesus himself mentioned it. A sensible person shud be very curious what that means. It’s very close to stupidity rather than faith.

If there was a plague in Jesus time and it cud affect alot of people so fast will he tell u to remain indoor and stay safe till the plague ends or he ends it or ask people to come out intentionally during such harmful plague? To prove a point.

Bible scholars of faith let us think and answer. Lol

When God tells u to be still and know that i am God. U want to jump. Prove u have faith. Proving to who?

I have seen the way God operates and it’s not stupid.

nextstep:

Very correct... in fact this is one of Jesus' earliest teachings.

"Healing is fundamental to the redemptive work of Jesus. To allow the idol of coronavirus to determine the scope of congregational worship in the house of God is an abomination of gargantuan proportions,"

Well, I suppose he can either keep his congregation safe by following guidelines, or he may soon not have a congregation.

Pastors can still preach and perform miracles using virtual means to reach their members. We have various conferencing apps.

Well, psychologically alone it helps people. it's a big social event for many. Both singing and dancing have health benefits. The spiritual aspect is left to individuals to interpret.

But it's very frustrating that an educated and well-traveled man like Chris should find it difficult to understand or accept such a basic epidemiological concept.

It's also very baffling that he doesn't remember how Christians are advised to obey the laws of their land. As in this case that doesn't go against Christian doctrine.

Pastors are worried that social distancing will reduce the capacity of the church and thereby decrease offerings. I'm not even sure if all these attempts at social distancing is effective considering that when you sneeze droplet aerosols can travel as fast as 100,000 miles per second. So how exactly does a 6ft distance prevent the spread? The one that makes me laugh the most is the proposition that airplanes should fly with the middle seat empty; how does it prevent the spread of aerosols in and closed compartment?
6 feet isn't that great of a protection against sneezing, it's true (though it still helps some), but it does help considerably in preventing a virus from spreading via regular talking or breathing. If sneezing is involved, someone (if not already wearing a mask) can try to cover themselves when they feel it coming or at least sneeze in a direction where people aren't standing.

Also, sneezes go 100 miles per hour, not 100,000 miles per second. 100,000 miles per second is 1/3 the speed of light!

100,000 miles per sec? grin
The 6 feet distance only works if everyone is wearing facemask. The mask impedes the ejection of aerosols and absorbs the bulk of it. Which is why churches are directed to have all worshippers maintain the distance and make masks compulsory.
Now, at this preliminary stage, pastors have already began protesting. Okotie oniranu with the smelly mouth is saying it negates God's healing powers grin
The jerrycurl spotting playboy has not healed a single corvid-19 patient, yet he's making so much noise about healing.

If I were FG, this is where I will stamp my authority and make an outright ban on religious gatherings. Our religious zeal (not spirituality) stinks. Let's see if people will collapse and die in their thousands if they get deprived from going to church or mosque for six months.

Silly pastopreneurs.

Because you don't understand what faith is. It is not an artificial device you have to test whether it is working or not. You don't apply faith where what is needed is common sense. That is the confusion you lot are having . You discard the tool God gave you to work at the moment and start asking him for another. Before you were born the work of God have been going on, when you are gone it will still go on,nothing is going to stop it,even when you think something is stopping it

That is why you wear a mask to contain all the sparks released whenever you sneeze.

Of what use is church gathering to the development of this country or personal development? Since COVID-19 closed churches what changed in Nigeria? Since we have been gathering in church for centuries ago what changed in Nigeria? We only succeeded in making few families very rich by contributing billions for them to help us give God when they see him if they will see him, government of every nation has the right to regulations including religion. Because lot of NIGERIANS are too lazy to read their religious book including Bible, they are bound to believe any nonsense someone says claiming to represent God. I pity Nigerians in the level of ignorance we display publicly and blame government when the results of our ignorance because obvious.

The world is confused about this virus. You reduce capacity more than that and you might as well not approve air operations.
