bro just because you have done land deals does not make you an expert.in fact from our conversations i doubt you are an expert. i mean you actually didnt know land is leased and not sold. you are buying a lease and not the land. the lease is so that you can occupy the land for 99 years. why did i assume you are igbo ? well i know hausa and SS people dont have this possessive attitude towards lagos land and so i assumed you were igbo . are you something else ? i stand corrected if you are an igbira man grin
no one leased land in Nigeria for 99 years and return it back. some people don't even renew their c of o after 100 years.
That you read it on paper does not mean anyone is applying those rules.
From the beginning you said one can lease the land for 99 years and get it back after, now you change to government can take it.

I am from the south south and I am not trying to posses your land. I am just trying to tell you the real situation of things, which is: you can not get your land back 99 years after selling

Who are Omo-Onile?
Omo onile  in Yoruba means “the child of the landowner.” Thus, an individual indigene of any specific Yoruba settlement may sell the portion of the family land appropriated to him or her.

The fear of Omo Onile is the beginning of wisdom for land developers in Lagos. Even with the best of education and your eyes wide open, you might discover that you have bought your land from ‘charlatans and impostors.’ The doctrine that governs the land market in Lagos is ‘buyers beware’. The multiple sale of land by branches of the same family is not generally considered a heinous crime but a minor side effect of African polygamy. In a house you built fifty years ago, you may one day find a fellow at your doorstep brandishing a paper called ‘court judgment’ that makes him the new owner of the land on which your property is built. The solution is ‘settlement’ that requires skillful bargaining. The possession of Certificate of Ownership is no defence in such matters.

In Some parts of Lagos, this is what you pay for

To put Foundation on the land N200,000
To collect the Deed of Assignment as proof of purchase of the land and receiving your money N200,000
To fence the property as a precaution against Land Fraudsters N150,000
To put a structure on it with Decking N200,000
To Construct a Roof on the property N160,000
Community Money for coming into their Village to buy a land N100,000

It's as if it's a crime to come to their place to buy land. I think our law is too weak to make these people to stop doing this nonsense all in the name of Omo-Onile

If you buy land at Elegushi, it's N2.5Million to just sign your document minus foundation and the rest of the nonsense they demand. In Badore, Olokonla, and areas controlled by the Olumegbon, it is N500,000 to sign your documents.

In Agungi, Osapa London, Chevron, and areas controlled by the Ojomu family, it's N1.5Million to sign your documents alone. Even those ones in the heart of Ibeju Lekki and Epe are beginning to copy their more illustrious counterparts to demand between N100,000 to N200,000 to buy land at Eleko or Free Trade Zone.

In Some part of Ikotun, Egbeda its almost N50,000

well this might apply in remote part of the countries where land is not prime asset. in lagos its impossible.

and after selling your land more than likely yu are going to buy another land. its called upgrade. its how people move up. you have cheap land in agege. then you work and build more money and sell the agege land and add to your money to buy lekki land. people dont sell land and use all the money to eat ewedu and amala you know. its circulation of asset. thught you knew this ? upgrade . you cant be stagnated in one place because its ANCESTRAL. you have to do better than your ancestors.

You need to come to Abuja where after purchasing land from the government and have all your paperwork, you will still need to settle community with nothing less than 4million Naira, this is happening in Guzape.

I don't think these miscreants will ever stop. Their rate of extortion is alarming. I remember when we wanted to repair the borehole in my house. These people came to disrupt the project. They insisted that we must give them something otherwise they will destroy all the materials for the repair. We gave them the sum of eight thousand naira before they left.

That's all they do. Very lazy lots who will rather take pride in agbero business than work hard. Very soon the Igbos will buy up their remaining lands and they relocate to the lagoon. They will be using canoe to come out from the lagoon to collect their omo onile. Fools

You sound like an idiot. No wonder your tribe is poverty stricken and sleep in 2×2 shops in the SW.Only Alakija will buy up all your rich people home and abroad..

Be doing mumu there..In as much as you are a Nigerian, you are still a stranger accomodated by the indigenes.Any land you buy,is bought just for 99 years if you have C of O and it can even be revoked anytime if the Yorubas want to.
If you do not have C of O,your land can be taken anytime. The best place to have your land for maximum security is your ancestral region or village.

when I wanted to do my foundation one of my brothers arranged boys up to 30 in numbers drinking beers and smoking weed so when these so called omo onile boys came to the site infact they couldn't do anything some of them joined the boys while some left immediately. Other alternative is that look for a way to invite a soldier to the site anytime you want to do your foundation or roofing.
