I am a graduate of Electrical Engineering. I graduated three years ago. After my graduation, I worked in a company for a year as sales Engineer. They claimed they would train us hands-on but they didn't.
I am now in search of a company that would train me. I am currently unemployed so no money to go for certificate training. Kindly advise please

Look for electricians who wire new houses and be following first, raise money and open electrical shop and gradually open an electrical company

On a serious note, you can get training anywhere. One thing i would advice, no matter where you get training from "humility" is the key to learning especially as it relates to skill aquisition. Good luck bro

Go to your church and join the technical department, and you'll learn both electrical and electronics without paying a dime.

Op u need to think outside the box as a Nigerian graduate. This is Nigeria forget about been a graduate and keep your certificate first. Am not saying it won't come handy later, make something worthwhile with your life and take your charge of your surrounding. Looking for company that you'll train under might not be easy instead look for a good artisan in your area of specialization and learn under him before you know it you are free and might have gained alot of experience in your field then get jobs done and earn.

As an electrical engineer, no experience is necessary to get an entry-level role, meaning, you'll have to start from the bottom.

Thinking what to say, just what a country after spending all the money in school instead of using it to learn handwork then open one shop for road side. God help us.

Be on the lookout for bootcamps that offers free training in coding. There, u will meet proffesionals and learns stuffs that will make u employable.

As an electrical Engineering graduate with 7yrs experience, I would advise you to start learning lucrative I.T skills

Electrical Engineering will not pay you in the long run

Go and learn practical aspects of wire and electrical installation.. u will understand on time with all this therom.. thank me later

I will strongly advise you to opt for Graduate Internship in any Electrical Company.

The challenge is that you may have to learn with little or no pay but you should be able to improve your knowledge base and skills if you have a great attitude to work.

While at this, you can equally keep applying for your Electrical jobs.

But trust me, you do not want to be idle.

At your level, learn the basic house wiring, understand amperage, kva and distribution boards, also how to properly ground circuits.
Also include learning Autocad for electrical drawings, these you can achieve at your stage and yes! learn from the electricians.

This question is very generic and shows you are actually confused...

Electrical Engineering is a very wide area of Engineering, of which someone needs to specialise in a specific area (Just like General Medicine);
I.e;
Controls systems
Power
Power Electronics
VLSI
Electronics
Telecommunications
I.T
Systems Reliability
Wiring and circuitry
Etc...

The mere fact you asked this question, means you are not even sure of what you want to do as an Electrical engineer...

So which area in Electrical Engineering basically highlights your competencies or piques your interest?

My advice to you, is pick an area and specialise... the rest will fall into place, basically you will automatically gravitate to the right direction, if you specialise.

Sticking to the generic fundamental level of Electrical Engineering limits you to the classroom solving equations.
