ACTUALLY arsene is just the front why has he not been sacked? the owners decided to sacriifice trophies for money long ago and arsene is a willing fall guy in return for job security. arsenal don't want to get into debt which is wise but truth is there is no money and that's why they are a selling club.

My recommendations to monsieur Wenger

Goal Keeper: Out - Almunia (Mos Def)

Defence : In - Samba, Cahill
Out - Squillachi (but who go buy) grin

Midfield : In - Lassana Diarra (bring him back)
Out - Diaby, Dennilson,

Attack: In - Falcao (not sure), Demba Ba (seems to be a bit prolific in goal scoring and will provide some much needed physical presence upfront); Benzema undecided(not realistic),

Out - Bedntner angry

Please keep a tight grip on Nasri, I rather see fab leave for some big bucks than loose Nasri.
Keep Arshavin
Bring back Henri Lansbury
Keep Eboue - You never know when he will come in handy
Keep Rosicky Just in case we need him at some point and he doesnt mind warming the bench grin

Coupla new folks coming in it seems. For the price of admission. In nothing less than 500words, please state, discribe and justify your opinion of Denilson, Almunia and Diaby. . .aka Dem Whipping Boiz.

@debo, an important thing folks seem to miss when talking about this aerial, corner whatchacallit is the fact that we are talking percentages here. The reason it is high is cos we allow less chances in open play.

Hangeland/Samba etc etc might be good in clearances but how will they fare when holding a highline, playing it out from the back, recovering when the trap has been beaten. The Hangeland being postulated here is so slow its painful to watch. Hodgson could get away with so many away draws because he had them sitting tite defending deep.

Righty oh, was wondering when someone would say that. Fair enough our set pieces defending could do with a lot of work but people forget we conceeded the least from open play, maybe because teams come up believing they won't have many chances from open play and focus on set piece routines against us. Curse you oh Sam Allardunce.

Anyone worried about Djorou's performance yesterday? concentration and decision making still below par and Theo was still anonymous when not scoring but Wilshere as always despite a laboured and tired performance still upped it when England needed it.

Just after I said it, Nasri decided against taking my advice, I really hope that is not the start of a journey of hate between him and the Emirates faithful, if they could turn on Arshavin the way they did this season, Nasri had better be a superman next season and turn up at important times like Rooney did for Manure this season if he stays. But seriously, our lads need some training in dealing with the media, they flash their 32 too readily, maybe they should cut down on their time at their dentists and spend it practicing set piece defending.   angry angry

Bros, This could be worse than the Adepaymemore situation.
While Ade was talking about 'Beyonce','Milan','Pay me like Henry if you wanna see performances like Henry,Nasri is talking about Manure making offers in the middle of a contract saga. shocked shocked shocked
If he eventually signs,he had better put up performances equivalent to CR7,Rooney and Tevez all combined into one or else, the boo boys at Ashburton Grove will show up and give him a horrible treatment.Utd ke?Thats stepping outta line!Walahi!
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread (for Arsenal Fans) by debosky(m): 2:46pm On Jun 05, 2011
These are the comments Nasri made:

"I don't know if I will sign a new contract. Anyway, the discussions are ongoing. For the moment, I don't think about this. We will speak about it after the match with Poland. ''Do I want to go to Man United? First, we should see if it's real and if it is concrete."

Dunno if he means much by that or is simply trying to keep his options open or drive a hard bargain.

My crux would be the why - why is he stalling? Is he looking for more cash as it appears or is he seeking assurances on signings or both?

I don't blame any player who is honest - I prefer knowing that there is a possibility of not signing than a Flamini that nearly swore he would sign and then walked.

As Wenger always says, his first priority is to keep the best performers in the side before going out to sign players.

Interesting theory you have there and it is true to an extent. Most Arsenal fans don't really know their club. They like us all just want to win trophies not knowing that the Board lacks ambition to be a great club. Thats why second best is always good for Arsene. For a great coach like Fergie, even with massive debt and co, such comments and ideologies are unacceptable & even a taboo. Wish he came into Arsenal just b4 united signed him embarassed

Haba Debo, this is Lateef we are talking about here o. The £100m-no-transfer-for-5-years-genius. grin

About Nasri, see there is the problem. Arsenal fans don't know how to pick their heroes. They insult players who were made and and in some instances fiercely loyal to the club, claiming they are only loyal because they aren't good enough for other teams. And go mental about people we had to pay big money to bring here. Then cry foul when they set their eyes elsewhere.

@Debo, when did Nasri earn the right to demand signings in order for him to stay? I have no beef with him oh, I just hate the way he's beginning to make this about money. And Man-forking-U? He needs a new publicist!
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread (for Arsenal Fans) by aribisala0(m): 3:31pm On Jun 05, 2011
i won't say they lack ambition. they are good businessmen. living in the real world the entry of ramonu ibrahim at chelsea was a distortion like we see at man city. but which of the two clubs will be leading in 20 years. chelsea cannot generate as much money as arsenal
see how clubs are going bust. remember how liverpool owners were forced to sell. when new rules come in next

year chelsea may struggle

I didn't say he had a 'right' but if I was Nasri, I might want to wait a bit to see if the gaffer is serious about plugging the big gaps in the side before deciding to stay. When you're at a crucial decision point like this, I think it comes down to more than just money - my opinion.

As for the Utd comments, he simply said there's no point discussing something we don't even know exists. Yes it would've sounded better to say I'll never sign for Utd, but it is quite meaningless in reality to be debating something that may not even exist.

Very funny. You want a superagent for a spy. You really think low of arsenal.

As per Nasri, i am finding it hard not to blame him. He had a fine half season and he suddenly thinks he is bigger than RvP. What would we be saying if he actually banged in goals thru out †нє season ala C.ro And messi? He probably would be asking for 150k per week. He is being an opportunist in †нє sense that he knows he is on †нє more favoured side of †нє bargaining. If arsenal wouldn't have to loose so much on selling him , he woulda signed an extension contract of 90k by now. If he leaves and we hold can hold on to fab, we will eventually get along alright.
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread (for Arsenal Fans) by HNIC(m): 4:34pm On Jun 05, 2011
Purely the view of an Arsenal Blogger Wrighty7. . . I tend to agree with most of what was written.

Samir Nasri Needs To Be Careful
There is loads of speculation surrounding Samir Nasri at the moment.
Will he, or won't he, sign a new contract at Arsenal? I don't know to be honest because I'm not a psychic, his mind, or his agent.
What I do know is Nasri needs to be careful. He needs to be careful because things can change rather quickly.
Before this contract situation arose Samir was becoming quite a hero amongst Gooners. A bit like Superman.
However, now there are a few disgruntled remarks coming from some Arsenal fans, especially when we see that he is flirting a little bit with Manchester United.
Views can change quicker than Usain Bolt these days.
Look at Emmanuel Adebayor, loved at the club, a few silly comments later and most Gooners would now gladly give him a slap.
These players need to realise football fans are alienated easily. We know that greed is rife throughout the game and loyalty takes second place.
Nasri has had one half decent season since he arrived in 2008. The rest of his time with  us has been spent showing flashes of what he can do.
Does this warrant him getting a contract to put him on a par with Cesc Fabregas on the payroll? I don't think it does.
The reason he hasn't yet signed a deal is down to pound-notes. Arsene Wenger said so the other week.
If this is the case then in my opinion the club cannot be held to ransom by Nasri, his agent or international kidnappers.
Of course I want him to stay, but nobody is bigger than the club. Especially a player who been here three years and has only performed for six months of that time.

That may sound harsh, but I think it is fair.

People question Cesc Fabregas' future all the time but you cannot question his loyalty to Arsenal. To be with a club the length of time he has been with us in this day and age is rare.

Nasri would do well to think about that.

Samir has developed into a fantastic player at Arsenal under Arsene Wenger's tutelage.

He should show a bit of loyalty to the club, Gooners and Arsene Wenger and not talk about other clubs like Manchester United because opinion on him will change.

If he doesn't sign a deal then fair enough, leave. He'll find the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

But don't disrespect by hinting about other clubs. Or you will go from a hero to a hate figure in no time Samir

there's no big deal there like you asked. . . . however, united are not even interested in samir nasri. just because scholes retired, every decent midfielder has been linked to old trafford. modric, nasri, defour, busquets, rodwell, henderson, etc. samir nasri does not have the man utd dna in him. he is another lazy midfielder and he cannot operate on the flanks like nani/valencia. it is a media-generated hogwash. let nasri go anywhere else if he's not satisfied with arsenal.  like evra told him, united don't tolerate laziness in their camp and this is the reason united have won 4 league titles in the last 5 seasons.

What a load of crap!

A. United are "not interested" in Nasri is a comical statement. . . It's like saying Liverpool are "not interested" in Messi. Why would you be interested in a player you cannot get?

B. Nasri cannot operate from the flanks? The "like" after that statement better mean what i think hope it does.

C. Nasri is no Tevez but his work-rate is higher than Nani who was your best player last season. If Nasri is lazy, what do we call Nani?

D. I'm sure Valencia and the like had higher ambitions when United signed them than Nasri at present. . . You can quit now!

B. Nasri cannot operate from the flanks? The "like" after that statement better mean what i think hope it does.

he cannot. he's not a traditional winger. one of the reasons arsenal continue to fail in the english league. no natural wingers, no width until clichy and sagna joins the attack. how many of nasri's crosses have directly resulted into a goal? why am i even asking this? he had one assist all season - same as edwin van der sar.

C. Nasri is no Tevez but his work-rate is higher than Nani who was your best player last season. If Nasri is lazy, what do we call Nani?

i laugh in french. nani is lazy? shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked now its obvious you watch your football upside down. you won't a find a more hard-working winger in the league bar valencia. if i show you the number of tackles nani has won in the last 2 seasons compared to nasri, you would weep for wenger.

D. I'm sure Valencia and the like had higher ambitions when United signed them than Nasri at present. . . You can quit now!

valencia had higher ambitions. crikey me, n'zogbia has better ambitions than nasri. nasri is just another overrated player who had a good first half of the season and fizzled out since the new year. rubbish player, he has no bottle and he's very very lazy with a zero mental strength. there's a reason fergie prefers strength to technical ability. . . .nasri is not a united player.

What does any of this have to do with the matter at hand? So United only sign players who are members of the "committee of achievers"? I'm sure Valencia was vice-president and Nani was chairman when they were signed.

there's a reason fergie prefers strength to technical ability. . . .nasri is not a united player.

valencia was definitely more ambitious at wigan than samir. . . .should we compare the medals both have won since playing in the english league? valencia(pfa player) in his debut season at united. he's won a league title here too and other domestic competitions. isn't this nasri's 3rd season at arsenal? if he is made of gold, he should have done something to arsenal's trophy drought. . . . . .to make matters worse, he's even considering jumping off arsenal's ship? i hate traitors.

You don't say! Is this the part where i'm supposed to start telling you how brilliant Nasri is?

Nasri is a work in progress. Promising no doubt, but still unfulfilled.

Steel sharpeneth steel. If he plays with more gifted players, he'll improve exponentially. That with trophies and tonnes of money is the appeal, all which Arsenal cannot guarantee. Sadly, Man Utd guarantees trophies.

On anoda issue, people keep saying Arsenal will soon be the most stable & other big spenders will soon go downhill & financial fair play bla bla bla.
If big teams go downhill, arent there buyers will be willing to buy them?Do people also think UEFA will not support big teams playing in the Champ Lg? how will they make money? What will be the tv audience be like for a Fulham/Mallorca final?

Arsenal 'selling' club need to wake up, smell the coffee & spend some money. Greedy board members who want an easy route to profit. Like I always say, there are coaches & teams that dont need to break banks to create winning teams.

Wenger, a 6-yr trophyless coach @ an established club must go now. I said it in 2005 & I'm saying it now. Thanks Monsieur, but you arent flexible enough to be a world beater.
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread (for Arsenal Fans) by ritchboy(m): 12:33am On Jun 06, 2011
nasri wouldn't have moved to arsenal if he was ambitious. . . . .

This is ludicrous. . . Especially when you consider the fact Valencia would have happily moved to a team like Spurs or Aston Villa if United weren't interested in him.

where else would he play? in the centre of the midfield? samir nasri will do a hatchet job like fletcher or play the michael carrick role?

Nasri has played CM before. He can also play AM(his natural role). If he must play wide, then there's no reason he must play as a "traditional winger", is Park a traditional winger?

nani wins more tackles than js park. you should have checked their stats before bringing park's name up. bar valencia, nani is the most-hardworking winger in the league.

Stop embarrassing yourself. . . Park's work rate is 10 times greater than Nani's. Since we all know Nani is much better going forward, why do you think Fergie prefers Park on the big occasions at times? His hairstyle?

Tackles won alone cannot possibly tell us who has a higher work rate. In any case, can you provide the stats?

valencia was definitely more ambitious at wigan than samir. . . .should we compare the medals both have won since playing in the english league? valencia(pfa player) in his debut season at united. he's won a league title here too and other domestic competitions. isn't this nasri's 3rd season at arsenal? if he is made of gold, he should have done something to arsenal's trophy drought. . . . . .to make matters worse, he's even considering jumping off arsenal's ship? i hate traitors.

This is too reetarded to respond to.

brilliance is quite different to having mental strength. nasri has more tekkers than js park but the asian has more bottle than nasri. on techniques alone, nasri is miles better but what's the point of having a technique without the mental strength to back it up when things go tough?

Does high stamina = mental strength?

this is because pep has technical ability + strength. . . . .barcelona have the most hard-working players in europe. they press for the ball for 90 mins collectively. nasri's arsenal have the tekkers but no strength - the sole reason why they fell off the rail when the title race got hotter. pep mixes tekkers with strength. nasri has tekkers and no strength. if you are not drunk, you should see the difference. i have not said nasri has no techniques, i questioned his strength and united players are about strength.

You seem to have cooked up several meanings for the word "strength" so you can twist it to suit whatever argument you make. Barcelona have "strength" because they close the opposition down collectively. . . United have "strength" because, let me guess "never say die" attitude. Stoke City must also have a variation of "strength", another guess, physical.

This stregth you are telling us Nasri doesn't have(and Nani does), is it physical, mental or, wait for it. . . CLOSING DOWN STRENGTH! grin grin grin
