what I met is totally different from what I was expecting.
yes he fixed the bamboos in the ground and tied the major ropes but I had explained to him to make it linear.
what I have now, is a thick web like spiderman's. I guess it should work too.

will snap and upload later in the day

Everytime I visit the place, there seems to always be a new one or more just emerging.

surprisingly, I found one that has sprouted from the last batch I planted.

If you go to construction sites or building material shops...

You can use most types of sacs though

I asked a question the other time but it seems you were to busy to reply.
When planting into the sac, did you just dig a small hole (not too deep) or topmost of the sac

I'm sorry, I didn't actually see the question... Yes just dig in the centre, enough to take your yam set with about 1-2 cm of soil above it so that the yam doesn't easily get exposed

So yesterday on my way from work, it was very windy. All I could think of was the staking setup on my farm.
Because of the way it was done, if one stick is uprooted or moved, it affects everything.

By the time I got home, it had already rained and it was pretty dark

Woke up this morning to check them before going to work, only to see the lines were down. One of the sticks had been moved, a heavy carton was blown on to the rope at a point and the entire rope was drawn down... Had to start adjusting...
One of the taller sprouts was also broken midway.

Anyway, I tried to fix what I could and proper work would have to be done over the weekend

Tough work ahead at the weekend... Hopefully, my worker is available.
I haven't seen him since he did the staking setup

This is we met on the farm today.
I went there alone first to see what can be done but the work there seemed more than what I could manage by myself, so I went to get my worker and we went there together

So it turned out that the problematic stakes were the ones I personally did.
We fixed them, straightened out the ropes and did some weeding too.

About a week since I last posted.
I haven't done anything major since then. Didn't check on them much too but today I went there, covered up exposed yam setts and soil with leaves and more soil

They're really doing well. Thank you sir
Have you added any fertiliser or manure so far?

I randomly just pick up some cow dungs and toss them into the sacs with sprouted yam.

I'll do proper manuring or fertilizer application later

Been a while I updated... During this period I've visited the farm many times but done a little more than weeding.

My observations are:

Those that were planted in my presence did way better than those in my absence... The sprouting rate of those in my absence is about 5% or even less...
And those in my absence so far, about 60%.

This low rate for the ones planted in my absence can be because they weren't planted well, or not planted at all...
Or because it took them long before planting the yam setts without proper storage, so they were destroyed beyond reasonable chance of survival
