Nigerians destroy the country more than the leaders do. We don't have a national resolve to make this country working as a people. We just use words of mouth to deceive ourselves.

Well it's logical to condemn this act but FG should stop giving lame excuse for the epileptic power in the country..

If those our leaders could be enjoying basic amenities in abroad like stable electricity, wondering why it is now a rocket science to provide same in their own country
So, in all that has been said, the next thing for you is to blame FG?

our problem is not even generation, it's transmission and distribution and distribution is in private hands now.

I doubt the pictures submitted as the cause of the power failure or blackout experiencing by Nigerians.
I suspected these pictures were cropped out from somewhere or rather they should submit a picture with good geometry of the area area. Election is closeby and we getting a lot of vandalism the government will submit quotations for repair in billions of naira. Government should use someone as escape goat all these will stop. Any director and minister that under his or her watch record damage of property or vandalised should be made to pay for it deny any benefits after court marshal.

Instead of all these stories everytime, do your investigation, apprehend the thieves, prosecute them with the appropriate punishment that will be severe and also others will learn from it, put other security measures in place . Fix the problem and let's move on.

If the government put adequate security measures in place, no one will destroy infrastructure. This one that happened, what investigation have they done, what is the report? If police investigate, they will get to the bottom of it and they will get results, arrest will be made, they person or people will be charged, they will face the law . Severe punishment will be melted on them. Others will learn. A situation where is story story all the time, the problem will be there.

“Sabotage of our infrastructure by citizens is difficult to comprehend.“ I beg your pardon! Our political leaders have stolen Nigeria blind leaving the citizenry with no better example of how to be a good citizen and you find the vandalisation difficult to comprehend
!! Introspect Sir!

So sad this is the same tactics APC used when PDP was in power. Using people's life to play politics. We need a government that can put an end to this game

No one can tell me those vandals aren't affiliated directly or indirectly to PDP.

This, and terrorism, are the weapons they hope would force the hand of Nigerians into doing away with APC. But I've got news for them; come rain come shine, PDP is going NOWHERE close to Aso Rock in 2023, period!!

What do you expect when the economy is bad... poverty, hunger, hardship, unemployment..... people must vandalize electricity power equipments/ installations Inorder to sell them to make money to survive this hard economy.... just make the economy to be good and better and all this sabotage / vandalism will not happen in the power sector

Rail attacks, abductions, electricity infrastructure sabotage, all bear the imprint of those who want to force a change of government.

But I agree with you, our intelligence services need to root out these elements as they constitute not just a security, but also an existential threat to this country. So far, their performance has been below par.
What you said is true but it is difficult to archive in democracy.

A potential thief or terrorist will deny if not caught on action and people will become emotional against the government.

We aren't ripe for what we call democracy

Arysexy:

You know nothing about power generation and transmission. Pls shut up. Taken to which Oshogbo?

The grid system is an interconnected lines at 330kv level in a ring pattern, could be radial also but Nigeria use ring. Powers are generated and fed into d ring by various power stations, NCC osogbo only monitors and allocate the load to each disco N ensure there is balance between what is fed in and what is taken out. Any imbalance causes collapse. In this case, the break in the ring causes sharp load consumption drop, which results in imbalance and collapse

Oh my God!!!!
I hope you aren't electrical Engineer, this is an insult to ur degree. So Oshogbo is the one that allocate load to discos?
What of the various substations that feed the Main Distribution stations?
We have about 7 large and most efficient generation stations that are transmitted to Oshogbo while the less efficient with smaller capacities feed the 7 most efficient and larger stations depending on their locations. From Oshogbo, the allocation is made to the substations across the Nation through 330KV lines.
Shake ur books and stop abusing ur knowledge!

The question is why did they do it? Has anyone tried to find out? Otherwise it will happen again and again.

I know it's very easy these days to scream terrorism as if that's answers all the questions and solves the problem.

The way out of poverty in Nigeria is graft...and politics . One day these individuals who have held us hostage for years will pay and perhaps pay generationally too for their wickedness against the populace
