What about charging with solar energy via inverter.

Very true..I had a flat battery in my girls place so I had to quickly use one power bank I saw in her room...that thing spoilt my batter..had to go replace it

Any thing aside your follow come charger will reduce the lifespan of your phone's battery. Using different brand's charger including power bank is a recipe for disaster. I'm very stingy with my charger after my experience with my Infinix which got bad unfortunately angry Thankfully, my current phone is a type C charger, so not many people have same type to start begging me!

That is why I don't use power bank I know fully well that it is not good, batterying charging battery is not a good ideal. There should be a greater power.

It was very painful. I keep buying batteries thinking the vendors were doling me fakes. Not knowing that the power banks was killing them silently. The batteries will just swell up like as if it ate too much power

As long as your inverter has a voltage regulator and you use the 'follow come charger' of your phone, you have nothing to fear! Also stay away from I pass my neighbor generator!

Buy quality phones and quality power banks..
What kill phone battery is substandard cable and overheating of battery.

What would happen, if your phone was also plugged in ............ wink

This my New Age power bank has been working fine but I fear my battery capacity has been depleted compared to when I bought the phone.

POWER BANK doesn't affect your battery....

What affect your Battery is the different chargers you used...

Most of us go for ⏩ FAST⏩ charger and that's what kills your battery...

Always obverse your phone charger *Ampere* when you buy a new phone and when using another charger use same with that *Ampere* or when buying another charger should be the same Ampere....

Yes right, repairer was right

Frequent charge with power bank weakens battery,
speaking from personal experience!

Please erase that personal experience. Faulty or under capacity one is the suspect not a DC real-power source.

Yes, power bank can spoil not just your battery but even the charging ic. And these are the cause.

1. Bad quality power bank

2. Your Power Bank Has The Wrong Voltage
Having the wrong voltage in your power bank will lead to problems. The ideal voltage to charge a phone is 5V. If any power bank gives a voltage of 4.2V or less, it will drain your battery instead of charging it.

Any voltage output greater than 5V will extensively damage your phone’s circuits by overloading it more than it can handle.

3. You Are Overcharging:
Power banks should essentially be used sparingly. Using power banks to constantly keep your phone at 100% charge will over time damage the battery, which will lead to your phone not being able to retain its charge for long.

To avoid these problems, avoid using your power bank to overcharge your phone. Use it for emergencies, and even when you do use it avoid charging your phone up to 100%.h

You have said it all. Let me add that the main issue is poor quality cheap Chinese power banks that flood the Nigerian market. A well designed battery charger should be able to avoid overcharging and low voltage, but it will be more expensive than the N2,000 to N5,000 Nigerians are pay for power banks in general.

Modern batteries stop charging at 100% then the battery drains to a certain percentage then charges again to a 100%. While this happens it still indicates its on 100%. This has a side effect on the battery, the continuous charge & discharge causes alot of strain and heat on the battery. The number one enemy of a battery is heat as it leads to swelling, its even worse when it heats up and cools down continuously for a long period. It also depletes a batteries life quicker because every battery has a certain amount of charging cycles, so while you live it charging after it reaches 100% you also indirectly use up a charging cycle for what you did not actually use because it will continuously discharge & charge. Lets say it stops charging @ 100% then starts again at 98% that 2% difference will keep on adding until it gets to 100 which is one charge cycle.

I'm sure all these sounded good to you but they're all without proofs or can you show us your source? All these are part of what they call myths about battery and charging. Buy a good phone from a good producer and a good powerbank too. The truth is all these phones have batteries built to last for 2 years and after that, your battery deteriorates irrespective of how you charged it. After 2 years of using your phone, if you wish to keep using it, get a battery replacement and move on.

You may actually have been very very lucky.

Most rechargeable batteries are made of lithium.

When a battery swells, it is because its casing has contained a thermal runway incident.

This is one of the biggest risks of all these chinko batteries and is also why you sometimes see videos of people with phones on fire.

Your power bank could literally have blown up and set you or your house on fire

For peace of mind, use VARTA POWER BANKS.

Found out the Batteries inside Varta Power Banks are made with Lithium Polymer , unlike. most Power Banks that their batteries are made with Zinc Carbon .

When your phone has a battery capacity of 6000mah and you are using a ‘chinko’ power bank of 10000mah (actually 4000mah) what do you think will happen?

It’s your phone that will be charging the power bank instead of the power bank to charge your phone lol

Ahah bross calm down now
U are misappropriating the physics
Current is directional and cannot flow in both ways at a time

What matter most is the ends with higher voltage and current
The 4000mah is the battery capacity not tye output voltage or current

Even is ur phone battery is 1000000mah and the charging voltage has been reached by an incoming energy source it will charge and charge effectively

What you could say is that the powerbank may run down quick
One problem that i think it could cause battery damageis when the voltage delivered is probably higher or lowr than ur phone battery input
How can u solve this

Use higher grade power bank with some sort of mini step ups in then

Oraimo.is a popular one
They can deliver current at diff voltages depending on the scenario and battery they are supplying

9v 1.67 A

5v , 2.5A
Most modern phone with fast charging will work just find

Na those 5 years old android and iphone got suffer from too high voltage
Cause most of them charg3 around

5 v 1 Amps
