It has nothing to do with trusting or not trusting you as a member, but a blanket rule to avoid discrimination.

It won't have been nice to choose who to search and who not to search based on who has been a member, otherwise visitors too could feel in a way.

The search is good. But the thing is, if someone is with a gun for instance, can the protocol guys who aren't armed disarm a man with gun? Some of these things we do are just to fulfil righteousness and not really intended to achieve the overall purpose.

That's nothing new. It's been like that for getting to 10 years already, if I remembered correctly. It hasn't discouraged anyone from attending services.

Are you for real on this? You don't sound enlightened the way you typed here. What is wrong with searching everyone to ensure security and safety? The happenings around should be eye opener, even the bishop or most senior minister in every church should submit himself to serve as reference for whoever wants to resist searching on the grounds of being old member. Sometimes the enemy comes close before hitting you hard. So someone can be a member for up to two years just to be a familiar face to use it to penetrate and undermine security. Churches and Mosques as well as places people gather like markets, malls and hotels are taking proactive measures you are dissing yours.
Meanwhile, stop going to the church, you and all those you mentioned, it won't stop the church running. Me sef I am typing from home I didn't go, but rest assured, with or without you that church stands and it's not because of a particular person, the spirit of God is behind it.
