This sounds like a welcome development

But then, if they do the same in their country, na una go suffer pass.

Nigeria should embrace globalization.

There's a reason why Nigerians like those accents.

Find out and fix it.

If other countries reciprocate it wont go down well. This isn't one of the major problems in Nigeria right now

What alternative do we have to offer and of what quality?

Is this the best way to solve the issue?

Why not add more requirements and increase the fees for ads with foreign artist, voice overs and contents?

That way, you encourage clients to go local, and also make more revenue if they insist on foreign names

Your recommendations can only be implemented next year if you vote for Peter Obi. Left for Tinubu, he will continue where Buhari stops.

It's good to insist, this will create revenue for our artistes, no serious business or company will close shop because of voice overs. This is government policy, all over the world governments initiate policies to benefit it's people, it's nothing new. Let's stop talking from both sides of the mouth, lots of unemployed people in Nigeria, we can't be giving out Nigerian jobs, this is one of the reasons for high unemployment rates.

Those criticising this move are same dummies who criticised their decision to fine MTN that year.

We need such seriousness from Government Agencies against foreigners dominating our country. The day Nigeria starts manufacturing goods and services for our local consumptions. That's the day Nigeria becomes the Giant of Africa.

Local content drives the economy and reduces capital flight

What about ALL the TELEVISION programs that are produced in India and the Philipines and then voice-dubbed by Nigerian artists?

I disagree . Let them use local content . The fact that most adverts are made abroad isn’t a good one for the country . Let these companies pay local models and content creators so that the money will flow within . Do you know the billions in dollars a lot of these companies pay for ads ? If just 60 percent of that money goes to Nigerians , it will be good for our economy .
Nigerian youths should see this as an opportunity to start Ad agencies and build great companies . No be every time criticism. The music industry has evolved well and a lot of young guys into just Music video production are doing great things . Same should happen to the ad space .

There is such a thing as positive discrimination. Why should a foreign model be used when we have thousands if not millions of unemployed potential models in Nigeria?
