Yes it is in my opinion, however it was the Navy that released this, perhaps they don't consider it to be a huge risk.

Ohh really...?? Thanks for the tip captain obvious. I never said APKWS is compatible with the Mil Mi 35, the Russians can also make guided rockets that can be fitted with the gunship. So try not to misquote me.
Now tell me, what new capabilities does the AH-1Z Viper bring to the table regarding Nigeria's COIN operations?? What can it do that the Mil Mi 35s in the inventory can't do and the already incoming T-129 Atak unlike the AH-1Z Viper that is expected to be delivered by 2025??
Quote me when the Russians have made their own guided rockets then.

Ah1Z has a more powerful engine and carries more weaponry, it has precision rockets, has skids for unfavorable terrain. Outranges them all.

T-129, albeit less powerful, is actually more of a US/Italian helicopter than Turkish; with US engines and power train ( less powerful than AhZ engine) Italian airframe and construction, and then Turkish avionics.

APPLY SKILLS LEARNT TO EFFECTIVELY ATTAIN NATIONAL SECURITY OBJECTIVES - COAS TELLS TROOPS

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS)Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya has charged troops of the Nigerian Army to effectively deploy skills and knowledge gained from trainings for planning and conduct of operations for the attainment of national security objectives. Gen Yahaya handed down the directive today 18 May 2023, during the graduation ceremony of officers and soldiers trained in the EXERCISE RESTORE HOPE IV Series, at the Nigerian Army Training Centre, Kachia, Kaduna.

The training which began on the 25 of January 2023, had troops drawn from various formations and units, who have been undergoing rigorous training and drills in marksmanship, unarmed battle drills and other advanced Special Forces training.

The well attended ceremony showcased series of shooting and tactical drills to demonstrate newly acquired combat prowess of the graduands.

Speaking further at the event, the COAS expressed delight for the successful conduct of the training for the first time by the Nigerian Army Training Team, adding that the first to third series of Exercise Restore Hope were conducted by foreign partners, while the fourth series was solely conducted by the NA Training Team with the advisory of the foreign partners. Gen Yahaya, who pointed out that training is pivotal to his philosophy of command, stated that Exercise Restore Hope training series provide the platform for the NA to sustain its efforts to adequately prepare the troops for operations in a complex and dynamic security environment. He noted that judging from the numerous benefits and impact of the Exercise, the series of training will be sustained in the NA. He disclosed that preparations are almost completed for Exercise Restore Hope V, with the bulk of its troops coming from young soldiers who recently passed out from Depot NA. He pledged that under his watch, training will be accorded its prime of place in the NA.

The Army Chief seized the opportunity to express appreciation to the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, President Mohammadu Buhari for his strategic guidance, untiring support and encouragement to the NA. Gen Yahaya reassured the nation of the unalloyed loyalty of officers and soldiers of the NA to the President and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The ceremony had in attendance, the Commandant Nigerian Defence Academy, Principal Staff Officers of Army Headquarters, Commander Infantry Corps, General Officers Commanding 1 and 3 Divisions, representatives of security agencies in Kachia, the Chairman Kachia Local Government, the Agom Kachia and senior officers both serving and retired.

The event was climaxed with the presentation of souvenirs to special guests and the training team.

The last time I checked, the Mil Mi 35 has 6 hardpoints that can carry a payload of 6,500 kg compared to the AH-1Z Viper with 4 hardpoints that can carry a payload of 5,700 kg, so what the hell are you bragging about??
The Mil Mi 35 can be used to transport and evacuate troops to and from mountainous areas because of its tyres which has an advantage over transport helos with skids and it can to carry 8-10 personnel in it's cabin unlike the AH-1Z viper that lacks a cabin.

In addition to this, the Nigerian Airforce can operate the Mil Mi 35 in any part of the country and they can be fitted with missiles without political restrictions unlike AH-1Z Vipers that are coming with indefinite restrictions due to of "violation of human rights"(unfounded and unproven) and fear of"civilian collateral damage".

The human right fracas and all be be blown out of proportion. But it exists and do not forget air force accidental bombing with no public indictment or prosecution of any individual.
Even the army and civilians where victims of this.

Now I think I shouldn't even be responding to you in the first place.

What did I tell you initially? I told you that the Mi35 and the AH-1z are not the same kind of helicopters and shouldn't be compared. You could have at least done a research on that and found out that the Russians have the Mi 24, which is an attack helicopter.

The Mi35 is the Russian equivalent of an armed UH60. The Mi24/ka50 and Ah1Z/ AH64 are all in the same class.

This doesn't include the T-B2 UCAVs which the Nigerian army has and uses for strike missions.

6 units T-B2 UCAVs are in service with the army.
