Since we're all claiming to be equal, now that women have money, why are they not marrying men and taking care of them?

To be fair to the women, it's not a good deal to carry both the financial burden of the home, and also her own biological burden that can't be transferred to the man (eg pregnancy, breastfeeding, child care, etc)

And in most cases, when a woman assumes her biological duty (eg being pregnant), then her earning stops, and a man that earns equally or higher will sustain the lifestyle that she is used to.

Bashing high earning women make it seems like it's a punishment for a woman to be successful. And if she is not successful, modern man will see her as a liability. Women are caught between two tight corners. If she makes money, she suffers somehow. If she doesn't makes money she also suffers.

If that's the options you have, then it makes sense to suffer while having her own money, because the last time I checked, broke women are not getting married too. In fact more broke women are unmarried than wealthy women.

Also, wealthy women can marry tomorrow if they downgrade their standards, but a broke woman is like Ukraine, at the mercy of everyone. That's a sad place to be, and it can only get worse.

So please, pity women small. Cut them some slack. Also, many of these women ain't just looking for a man with money. Quite frankly, they have lots of those men. But lots of men thinks having money is enough, and these women wants a husband material as well, not a money material only.

Yahoo boys and lots of touts have money, but these women will pass them. It's not just money. It takes more. Anyways, see it from a woman's perspective. These things are not black and white.

One thing many guys failed to understand is that women are well versed in a language called double speak. What they mean is not that men aren't available, it's that the type of men that they want are not available. Now who are these men? Oh that's simple, high earners.

Most women want a man that optimally earns significantly more than they do. The conscientious ones will be more than happy to play a supporting role while the indolent ones will spend his money whilst saving hers. His money is our money after all.

What women however fail to realize is that as they start to earn as much and even out earn men, they soon climb into the category of the men that they once wanted. Now that they're earning the same or even more, it is very likely that they won't want those guys anymore.

A woman earning 30k doesn't want a guy earning the same or less. You could say the same for those earning significant more, even into 6 figures monthly. Why? Hypergamy. In one word.

Now for the average woman in society, there's every chance that they are most likely to meet up with average men. How many average men in this society can boast of solid job, much less earning 6 figures? This is why women say that men are scarce. Now why do women balk at the idea of settling with a lower income man?

Using a relationship as a way of explaining the flow of resources between individuals, the individual that earns more will obviously assume the majority of the financial burden of the relationship. They'll also need to sacrifice more, take charge, be more responsible and etcetera. In the case of a (legal) divorce, they also tend to lose more.

Unlike men, most women see a relationship for what it is. Now with a lot of them being a position where they earn the same or even more than the men around them, this proposition doesn't sound too good. Most women have chosen to hold out an wait for the mythical unicorn that is Mr Right. Because seriously, what does she get out of a relationship with a guy who's below her financially? She spends more, gives more, works more etc.

Usually when I hear this, I smile and I say welcome to being a man. I know a lotta women believe that being a man is very easy but a good number are finding out that's it's not so.

For hundreds of thousands of years, when men were sole breadwinners or at least they earned more, this arrangement of whoever earns more provides more was seen as fair and justified by women.

Now that the tables are flipped somewhat, a lot of women are appalled by the idea. The fact that some women have been taken advantage of by men also doesn't seem to help issues. But I could also counter and say women have been taking advantage of men the same way as well, presumably even more.

Ladies you see that middle class earning man making 70 to 100k and possibly more monthly, a lot of you are now those men. There are guys doing sales that earn below you, private school teachers that earn below you etc. These are the men make up the bulk of society.

With equality comes equal responsibility. As Myron would say, equality is not a buffet where you get to pick and choose. Men and women are equal now, so go out ladies, pick a man, take care of him and the children you give him till he or you dies. Let's see if we can see this equality thing through.

I mean look at it from the point of a man. He works hard, built his empire and then marries you just to take care of you and if care's not taken, your family and friends come along for the ride. Ladies can you do that?

what you just analyzed is a social pattern that is erroneous. The pattern was borne out of error and misconception of what God wants from marriage.

Money is indirectly a measure of goods and services. Money received for goods and services can be influenced by negotiating power of the earner, demand-supply pressure on prices of goods and services. Now that a man isn't having more money may be a function of these above stated factors and not because he isn't hardworking or willing to work. What the Bible pattern reveal is one where the wife stays back mostly and do the lesser tasks. The man is to do the harder tasks like tilling the ground, cultivating the crop. The women were part of harvest and milling(processing) of food.
All these man must earn above woman rubbish are corruption of biblical patterns.

You see most of these modern Nigerians ladies are nothing to write home about. I don't really blame them. As usual, I blame the men who lost their prowess to what's in between their thighs.

what you said about being at the mercy of others is true because at least some level of independence give someone a sense of security and a boost in self-esteem... and it also increases self-respect.. a woman should focus on building her value through her character and dignity.. anything else is secondary... being a rich woman doesn't translate to being high value to a man unlike how rich men are being perceived by women

lol to a man it might not see it as downgrading but to her she's downgrading herself... even if he can provide in some other areas, sooner or later she will start misbehaving, because how can you control someone more powerful than you are? a number one thing a woman expect a masculine man to provide is financial stability followed by sexual prowess... anything else is irrelevant... providing this two is what makes a woman respects a man and makes the union lasts longer

who says he cant become rich? misbehaving based on being richer shows no affection or attraction. she cannot buy his brain or become the owner of his mind with money. if she trys to oppress him because she is richer, then it means something is wrong between them. he has human rights too. whether u take it or not ,a richer woman will have a family with a man unless there is competition between them stopping it.

In this day and age of information, i can't believe some folks are finding this little write-up to be bulky. Some read & didn't understand the point.
