When the last headline came that Otedola has the second highest share, I said that he is after take over the transcorp groups from Tony and he target is control of the transcorp new power plant . But Tony is now learned in area of investment , he played a chess ♟️ game and acquired 25.5 % shares direct and indirect , now Otedola quit.

Game of billionaires , God bless my little effort

it like a game of chess and TOE lost some good money in the process.

FO$ brought the shares because he noticed a vulnerability in the way the shocks were placed (this is me speaking proverbs). The vulnerability could have been noticed by TOE guys if they were focused on protecting their Chairman, but i guess they were carried away by the glam and didn't lookout for where Transcorps shares was vulnerable.

FO$ intention was not to really take charge of the operation, it was to trigger a possible buy back deal, which paid-off for him now, so he ended up getting X5 or more of what he used in buying.

Every business owner should always carryout a stress test to know where they are vulnerable, not matter who big or small

In civilised countries, serious investigation will be started to see if laws have been broken. But in the land of the dark like Nigeria full of ignorance, people will be praising him. This should raise alarm bell to stop inside trading.

One lesson I will advice anyone...NEVER follow RICH people buy stocks and shares. They pump money into it, allow the gullible to run after the stocks and shares, drive up the prices and then EXIT making profits...everyone else end up with losses. I wont be surprised if both men knew the strategy all along while playing dumb with the rest of us. I do not like conspiracies, but insider trading is so common here.

Is it not better than dating someone like you that will be insulting her everyday. You Nigerian men are not serious. After insulting her continuously, you now expect her to date one of you. Is that not madness? Abeg leave her with her Oyinbo lover. She is happy with her choice.

These guys are wise.

They buy these things small, watch it grow and then pull their weight.
Great strategy.
Another angle…they buy it big so other smaller greedy investors (common men)begin to buy with the mindset that the price will keep rising..
when the target is reached he sells his large portion..which will eventually crash the price and leave the small holders in loss..
In conclusion..they get rich by collecting from the greedy poor..

lol an average nigerian is better than that dude she calls a boyfriend haha, let’s put skin color aside don’t downplay nigerian men, we are everything but unambitious. Last thing a serious man will have time for is sit down to draw dragons and sarpents on his body and call it fashion. Most embarrassing thing my child will do is bring me that kind of man as an inlaw even when I couldn’t archieve half otedola.

So elumelu bought the shares back to prevent a hostile takeover by Otedola? But Elumelu has been schmoozing him on social media even before otedola bought the shares.

My guess is they probably both colluded to increase the share price value of Transcorp as a result of the sale. For what reason, I dont know.

For profits of course.
You think wealthy men ever get tired of making money? cheesy
Making money is like a hobby to them.
It's what they know how to do best.
At some point in their lives, it becomes too easy.
So, as long as they can, why not? cheesy

The stock market is the easiest place to make more money, as long as you have enough money to trade.

504 in the eighties was about ₦4850.

Maybe a Mercedes Benz 280 went for up to ₦10,000, but I seriously doubt that.

₦1 back in the eighties is more than ₦1000 now.

Still, a lot of people started businesses back then....a lot of my Dad's friends owned petrol stations, bakeries and stuff. Dad opted to be a farmer.

Well, guess what?

Most businesses set up back then are dead now.....I still pass by some of the carcasses of petrol stations and be like.....wow......Nigeria kills business.

The ones that thrived?

They are big businesses today!

Maybe those started by people in or close to power.

A lot of businesses have crashed, far more than those which survived.

When even multinationals packed their stuff and ran?

Let them keep deceiving the common share holders of the company. How can Elumelu buy shares of transcorp at x4 the price from Otedola and he cannot buy it from common share holders at even x1.5 . Is Elumelu a mumu ni?
