Well, corruption is always an issue with Nigeria and I can't be quick to dismiss your valid concerns, as others do, because I know the reality of Nigeria.

After all, it was someone in the Lagos planning permission board that looked away while the developer Osibona extended a residential tower with approval for 15 floors to 21 leading to the collapse of the tower in Ikoyi killing many including the developer himself.

The aggressive marketing of land around the Dangote refinery axis, using the refinery itself as an attraction to lure wealth-chasing investors to the area, is a worry.

We have to hope strict supervision is deployed regarding sales of land and respect for set-backs in the area around the refinery. That is my main worry.

Haven said all that, it is still a great, visionary and much needed project that I espect to be a "game changer" for Nigeria given that it will be run by one of the most successful and dedicated businessman Nigeria has ever produced.

Experts whose decisions were influenced by economic interests and palm greasing. Even a kindergarten knows that air pullution goes for hundreds of kilometers.

I remember few years ago when pollution from the Warri refinery affected the rains in far away Osun State. During Desert Storm, air pollution from the fires in Kuwait went as far as parts of Europe.

But what do I know. Absolutely nothing.

The best place is in the North if we are talking about land mass bt u guys will still complain.

South south has agitation issues no businessman wants that. If we are looking at jobs and proximity then lagos population helps also.

No it was not. Politics and lack of vision killed it for Ogun State. Lagos has no such issue because Tinubu's brand of politics means everyone moves in the same progressive direction for the greater good of the State.

Even the GAC, governorship advisory committee, is a powerful body in place to check excesses of Lagos Governors and ensure they do not derail or become unapproachable dictators.

Same way, for example, an excellent and dominant football manager like Pep Guardiola believes no player or individual is greater than the team.

Most Nigerian States do not have that and this is why they are not operating anywhere near their true potentials. Instead they host inflexible tin gods and dictators who brook no opposition and believe thing must be done their way alone.

Incidentally, this is the main reason Buhari failed horribly in many critical sectors to the extent his legacy cannot be viewed as anything other than failed.

While Dangote refinery is a testimony to the drive and focus of our foremost businessman, it is also tribute to how Tinubu and those he settles on are visionaries who prioritise growth, development and progress above everything else.
