Two passions I followed that ruined my life.

(1) The lady I loved so much that messed me up.
(Lesson: Follow peace of mind over feelings). Sometimes we are offered two or more good options, but we may tend to follow the exciting one amongst the good options. Excitement is not a proof of being in the right thing, but time and peace of mind proofs it.

(2) A false man of god I met.
I wasted money, time and my life in this man's church.

(Lesson: Never be carried away by prophecy, fire, ginger etc. Do not allow people lay hands on you anyhow, do not say "god of so so so man of god". You may be calling his diety instead of God Almighty.

What are you so good at and enjoy doing so much so that you wouldn't mind offering your services for free, just to prove you can do it?
Okay
In my opinion, when it comes to business and putting food on the table, passion is overrated. Because what you enjoy doing may be completely different from what you are good at and can provide regular income for you.

For some, maybe.

Because what you enjoy doing may be completely different from what you are good at and can provide regular income for you.

A different angle.

Passion?
Is there anything like passion today?
Everybody's passion is money abeg. Passion ko passion ni

Remove money from the equation and see if everybody's passion is not to sleep, eat and have fun.
Yes, money is important for survival but there's something that makes an individual happy, that's your passion, expecially if it fits into a business. If you thinks your passion won't pay your bills then you have to hold on.Most successful people do not really like what they do for money but the sole attraction is money.

Recently I left my job which i was paid over 150k MONTHLY just to sit at home and study and practice a skill that i know eventually it will pay off my whole one year salary in 2-3 months.

It was never easy at the begining i must Tell you. My elder brother taught i was stupid, my collagues at work mocked me but honestly this few weeks i just feel so much satisfied cos i literally have the knowledge that can sustain me for the next 50yrs.

I always tell my self this. ITS BETTER TO WEAR ONE SHIRT AND ONE TROUSER AND CARRY INFORMATION WORTH MILLIONS IN YOUR HEAD.. ITS VERY STUPID TO LOOK EXPENSIVE ON THE OUTSIDE AND NOTHING EXPENSIVE INSIDE YOUR HEAD.

I FEEL SO FUFILLED THIS FEW WEEKS AFTER I RESIGNED FROM WORK OF 150K MONTHLY TO SETTLE DOWN AND STUDY FOR THE PASSION THAT BURNS INSIDE OF ME...

I could remember telling my closest family members and pastors about my plans and Everyone of them were all just advising me to keep it safe.. come and see how humans are , none were like
"wow this passion you have, that you want to rezign from your CURRENT job how much do you need fora start-up so that i can support you" .. this alone self will tell you that starting from the bottom is hard cos its rare to see people who will literally key into your passion, you just have to take your own balls by the hand and have faith in what you do

I GAVE MY SELF TIME, AT LEAST BEFORE DECEMBER THERE WILL BE A DIFFERENCE.

Following your passion becomes dangerous when you don't create a structured plan.

And if you are so scared to take those bold steps, at the later part of your years here on earth you will be left with regrets upon regrets.

Remember, we only die once , so make sure you live this life to the fullest, dare to take those bold decision's that you know will take you to that desire and dream life you wish to enjoy.

Follow your passion, start building and before u know it the results at the end outweigh all the labour and SACRICICES.

But very importantly, plan and follow the plan. If it fails, replan and follow the plan
If you don't mind what is the skill

Migrating from a paid job to a passionate job requires slow transition. Any abrupt change will lead to inevitable regrets.

Yes... But in the long run, no.

I spent 10 years blogging... I started before Linda Ikeji blew up, so it is not like I did it because of Linda's success. I started in 2008...like 4 years before Linda blew up. I was blogging in the Hip Hop subgenre. I didn't make substantial money from it (apart from 2015, when I made a couple of hundreds of thousands), so I stopped in 2018.

I was like, what a waste... I had wasted a big chunk of my life. But... When I stepped back to analyse things recently, it was not a total waste of time. During that time of blogging, I became a super fast typer... Which helped my fiction writing career later in life. It helped me put out novellas at a high speed. And this is where bulk of my money comes from now.

Also, the blog I abandoned for years now, still gets traffic, even though I don't do anything on there anymore. It makes very small money, but the way I'm seeing it, it will make money for the rest of my life. So, in the long run, it wasn't a total waste.

In the long run in my own case, money wasn't my motivation for doing what I did. It was all a passion thing. I love Hip Hop music, and I love writing. There is a difference between starting a business because of the money you feel you will make, and doing something creative that you're passionate about and also very good at.

There is a fulfilment you get from following your passion that can't be quantified on a monetary level.

Who could ever regret following their passion?
Following your passion first and foremost is fulfilling, then getting paid for it is like extra.
The truth is most Nigerian youths don't know (haven't discovered) what their passion is.
God bless you a million times

I quit my job when I realised that I could work from home and over the internet. Admittedly, it has been a journey full of ups and downs. But then, life is full of ups and downs itself.

However, there are things you had better not expose yourself to. If you get exposed to getting paid in foreign currency, you will find it extremely difficult to return to a job that pays in local currency because what you make from one project can sustain you for 3 months in Nigeria.

So, no, I have no regrets.

And that's why MOST Nigerians don't pass simple tests and exams.

They don't adhere to, and follow instructions.

All of you that have passion are lucky o. Passion gives you focus, determination, drive and a goal to look forward to. It makes life worth it when you eventually achieve it. But it can also be disastrous if you don't reach your target.

We that don't have passion for anything particularly I pray God helps us o ( I know I'm not the only one). I just need a well paying job. God is my own passion.
