What about those dat use 33line, they usually have light na.

Even 33 Line is currently offering very low output... Ask around.

Power Generation and supply have massively plummeted across the nation.

I just read about wet bulb temperatures in tropical regions of the world during this hot period and I learned something a wet bulb temperature is a phenomenon where the temperature is high and the humidity is also high which means when we sweat our bodies cannot cool because sweat cools us when our bodies overheat.

So that means that the moisture content in the air is high so when we sweat our sweat cannot cool us down so you sweat more and dehydrate faster and that can lead to kidney failure heatwaves like this do not kill immediately protracted nighttime stretches of 35°C can cause several health problems

Dry heat like in harmattan periods are different because the moisture content in the air is low meaning your body sweats and cools easier and faster than wet bulb temperatures

The current heat in naija is around 35°C and humidity is high and to be honest sleeping feels like being cooked in hot steam

My fellow nairalanders I bring you this info as I am here thinking of sleeping on the roof please does anyone know if mosquitoes can fly to the roof of a 5 storey building

They won't know you are there. It's safe up there . Bring us report from the roof top tomorrow morning.

If you feel heat for afternoon. Enter Bank, fill teller, stand for queue, when e reach your turn, go back of the line and start the process again. Repeat it for as many times as possible. When you feel you have taken enough AC, keep the teller and go your house.

Op, that means kidney failure should be rampant in Sokoto, Katsina, Borno, etc. grin
Cos this is their weather every year, and has been since forever.

It just happens that it came down South on this rare occasion.

Some of you that have never left Lagos or Southern Nigeria actually believe such crap. Lol.

Go tell this to those living near the Sahara. tongue

Google and too much Internet are doing more harm than good to some of you... You think you are learning, but you are not.

That was how many of you ran amok with your fear-mongering during COVID.
Interestingly those northern cities are cooler now than the South and not experiencing extreme heat

Possibly... However, they experience extremely hot and humid periods every year.

I have lived there, so I know.

The heat wave currently in the South is nothing strange to them... They experience it every single year.

Make sure you drink water every now and then.

Just be drinking enough water, even if you are not thirsty.

I have been scouting for a topic like this on nairaland that acknowledges the deadly heat wave experienced yesterday and that has continued till today. It was terrible (first of its kind in Nigeria).

^^^
Its been around for a few years now.

Some may remember that 2018 was quite bad. Same kind of weather - high temperatures AND high humidity. The high humidity is the problem.
