I think you need to research the history of that road. It has been in the conceptualization stage for more than 60 years!

Those of us from the Niger Delta are happy that it has finally taken off.

Ok Mr self proclaimed spokesperson of the Niger Delta, also doubling as self proclaimed spokesperson of Northern Nigeria on Peter Obi’s borehole projects

Okay. Let me help you. You say someone is a cocaine sniffing thug. If a cocaine sniffing thug defeats me in an election, I'd commit suicide because it proves a cocaine thug messed me up.

You'd argue that Peter Obi won the election. Even Peter Obi himself does not believe he won the election. It is characteristic of a supporter of someone who came 3rd in an election and claimed 1st, but could not prove it because he didn't believe in it. If he believed he came 1st, why was he asking that the candidate who came 1st be disqualified for alleged double nomination of his running mate, which turned out to be a blatant lie? If he believed he came 1st, why was he dying about IREV? Didn't his party agents have their own results? IREV is a viewing portal and not a collation center. If he believed he won, why didn't he present his results from his party agents from the collation center?

Cry all you want, Tinubu remains your president. Deny your loss, it will never make your demi-god the president. Accuse Tinubu of the inability of your penis to function, there is only one person in pains: the one who cannot accept his fate.
And Tinubu becoming president will get you and your household poorer just like Buhari did. You can't change that.

I like reading Peter Obi’s comments, but this one on the coastal road is off key.

While I sympathise with those affected....
The properties that were demolished, were they built on an approved plan and boundary?
Did they chart the land before investing? You can't build on a RoW and start complaining about the execution of the Law. Mr President might not be the number one choice of some, but this project is laudable and comes with lots of merit.

If anyone from the Niger-Delta comes across the thread, please remember that some of you voted for Peter Obi. Peter Obi has demonstrated he is against the progress of the Niger Delta communities. The bulk of the funds for running our economy comes from the Niger Delta. But he says a big project to criss-cross the Niger Delta is a misplaced priority.

Note that the US spent their way out of recession through the New Deal which focused on massive infrastructural development across board, including roads. There is no nation interested in progress that is currently not engaged in one form of infrastructural development or the other. But the one which is 60 years old overdue in Nigeria, Peter Obi is fighting it, simply because he lost election.

If he didn't build anything meaningful in Anambra, I think it is disingenuous to fight against something being built through the Niger Delta. Thanks to Tinubu's ingenuity, Lagos is undergoing massive infrastructural development and embarking on an audacious railway project which the likes of Rufai Oseni would condemn.

Peter Obi doesn't want the progress for the Niger Delta. He just wants to get the votes and use anti-developmental and archaic ideas to ruin this country completely.

Only vote for those who want progress to be in your land. With this tweet, Peter Obi has shown he is not interested in that.

As for the Landmark CEO who has been all over the place making noise, can he show us documents where the shorelines and beaches in his location were ceded to him? If he violated the right of way, it is evil for him to complain. The best thing to do was to meet and find ways to relocate his business or shift to an area where the coastal highway won't pass. When I travelled through Accra-Cape Coast highway, part of which was adjacent to the ocean, it was a beautiful sight with the blue waters! Guess what? Beaches still functioned!!

Just to add, a road network is also a delight for businesses. Food can easily be transported from rural areas to urban centers and those in rural communities would make good money.

But Peter Obi does not want this.

Look at this big fool, you think we don't know the real reason behind the coastal road is to have more access to crude oil. The road is a non essential project we don't need it. Take care of existing dilapidated roads, food inflation is killing us, insecurity everywhere yet your useless druggie is running propaganda up and down about non-existent $600m investment disgracing the country everywhere. Fucking neanderthals

Imagine if this road is West -East roads Igbo will praise Tinubu to the call though some will still hate but because na south south not southeast they're threatened

I pity any south southerners that joined this retrogressive tribe to abuse Tinubu on this project, Northerners won't even criticize any roads done in their land, what was the railway of Niger to Nigeria benefit if not for Influx of terrorism yet Northerners didn't protest against it

South south that provide 70-75% of Nigeria revenues should not enjoy the infrastructure benefit because is misplace priorities. Some people are just mad

Did Atiku protest or made a statement against Niger- Nigeria railway? The answer is no but this big head hypocrite obi is here supporting northerners to question development in southern Nigeria when the foool no do any roads in anambra

I blame those fooools hyping the Incompetent iidiot

This is the assumption that exposes the limitations of many of you. Why exactly would the project be abandoned? Has Tinubu ever started any project and abandoned it?

Why not wait for the project to be abandoned before complaining?

My reading is that some of you are filled with so much hate that any sign of progress is what you unite to fight.

Have you been to the US? Do you know the massive investments they did on roads? Do you know the impact of such infrastructure for the communities and for the government? Do you know if farmers can easily transport harvest, it would boost trade and help the economies of the local people?

Instead of being cynical, look on the bright side and start looking for opportunities for yourself.

Construction workers need to eat. Support someone to open a small food business near the area and make money.

It is a pity that many of you have become so damaged that you can't even support progress when you see it.

Those of us who have been opportune to visit several countries can attest to the impact of infrastructure in the short and long term.
That's why people like you keep making same.mistakes thatbhave kept us in this mess since 1960. So.we have to wait for Tinubu to make his own mistakes?

1. How.much is the total budget allocation per annum for road construction?
2. Where will the fund come from to finish the project.
3. Do you know how many years it takes the government to repair a simple expressway? Eg Lagos Ibadan, Onitsha Enugu? Averages almost 20yrs
4. If it is to be financed by the construction company and tolled, have they done similar projects before?
5. When did they bid for this project, who else competed, how did you arrive at the choice of the company?
6. Same company that could.not finish Lagos Epe expressway for almost 20years?

I know critical thinking is not cheap that's why there are too many poor people in the country. Continue to repeat history. You want a fanciful road, that's why there are too many fanciful white elephant projects everywhere in the country with zero economic benefit

In your mind you are the only one that visited other countries? You are just a poor thinker looking for fanciful projects you can't afford at the expense of scarce resources.

You are a big fool. The East West Road he called for its rehabilitation is in your fathers parlour not in Niger Delta. Why wasting money to build a new road which will not be completed when there are several roads to be rehabilitated across the nation. Common sense is indeed not common.

The Niger delta people already knows their true enemy. The person that allowed soldiers kill them, arrested and humiliated their monarch, chased them out of their houses and burnt their houses.

As for landmark, there was an original design of that road which they followed before building structures, following the initial design saves a whole lot of cost as people already followed it, why did govt all of a sudden changed the design thus embarking on several avoidable demolitions.

You have made very valid points and obi just showed the whole world that he is a boy in suffisticated essential projects. This makes Tinubu the only and best candidate among them in service delivery. Imagine the benefit of coastal super highway to Nigeria in future. I remembered when dangote refinery was to be constructed, it was a lot of pains to the community relocations and business affected, Tinubu was tagged different bad names to have sold the future to a northerner among several people insulted. Today, those people have buried their faces in shame. 8yrs after Imagine the refinery benefits to the community and entire country? It's simply visionary.

pls what is the meaning of the highlighted? how is tinubu the "the only and best candidate among them in service delivery"? what exactly has he done since may 29, 2023 that makes him "the only and best candidate among them in service delivery"? what is the benefit of coastal super highway to Nigeria in future? how have nigerians benefitted from dangote refinery thus far?

Peter Obi cares about the interests of people from the region, his wife is from the same region. He has deep rooted love and support from Edo, Rivers and all over Niger Delta, so what are you talking about?

Highly misplaced priority... The only question I have for Thièfnubu and his brain dead zombies is;

They should show me where this road project will pass through in Rivers State and name the location..

Lagos shoreline is totally different from what is obtainable in Bayelsa, Delta and Rivers State. Travel and see things yourself.

Are they going to build the coastal highway on swampy mangrove forest or in the creeks?

.

My broda, me I know understand the environmental, economic and logical sense of building a mega highway all along the Nigerian coast in these global warming or is it climate change era. It just does not make an iota of sense to me.
Roads that will be washed into the ocean within 50 years, might even be sooner. You think the people that built the Lagos-Ibadan expressway were stupid to build the expressway far inland.

Please before making statements on a public forum try and get your facts right.

There was an initial design for that road, landmark and other people followed and observed that design. All of a sudden, they brought out this new design when people have already followed their initial design. I saw the 3d of both designs. Interestingly, the initial design is better as there will be no house to demolish thus saving government huge sums of money.

Besides there is no tangible reason given for the current design with the associated cost on state coffers.
