@Orikinla

There is nothing impressive or unusual as to what you have posted to be read here. We all know both Kumuyi and Olukoya made a firstclass and so bloody what? Anybody who is intelligent and accord his studies a top priority will make first class. It's not a big deal. And for your information University of Reading is a mediocre school and not in the league of Cambridge and Oxford. So get it into your HOLY skull, there is nothing intimidating about academic credentials of Olukoya.

Without being immodest, I was also the best student in my secondary in one tiny community in Ekiti, then graduated with Firstclass in UI and as a matter of fact one of the best students in my set and presently pursuing doctoral studies in the world's best university. So tell your stories to the marines!

What you should ask Olukoya is this:
Why is He praying against demons everyday? Oh your enemies, fire, fire!! consume them! Does it mean, devil resurrects everyday or  his prayers are ineffective or amount to rantings!

A simple challenge to all those who say that God does not exist.

The following is the brief biography of a Nigerian who truly believes in God.

If you have a better CV than him, post it here or simply go back to school and improve your knowledge and discover the TRUTH THAT WILL SET YOU FREE ONE DAY OR YOU WILL PERISH IN YOUR IGNORANCE.

When Dr. Kolawole Daniel Olukoya was born some forty five years ago, little did his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Olukoya, know that they had taken delivery of an exceptional child ordained by God to fulfill a destiny that would in turn, positively affect the destiny of others.

And in pursuit of that destiny, Dr. Olukoya laid down an academic blueprint whose pedigree remains outstanding. At Saint John's CAC Primary School, Akure in Ondo State, and Saint Jude's primary School, Ebute Metta, Lagos where he completed his primary education, excellence was his watch word. Rather than occupy himself with exuberance that was a common feature among the, youths, he developed a passion for God.

Dr. Daniel Olukoya's academic profile took a leap while at Methodist Boys' High School, Lagos , where he graduated with Grade One Distinction and was the best student in his set.

Not one known to rest on his oars, he took his academic exploits to the prestigious University of Lagos and, as would be expected, the genius in him proved that all earlier outstanding academic results were no fluke, as he graduated with a first class honours degree. In fact it was the first from the department since the university was established in 1962.

Dr. Olukoya's thirst for more academic laurels found expression at the University of Reading, UK, where, with a Commonwealth scholarship, he studied for a PhD in Molecular Genetics, which was completed in record time, making him probably the first Nigerian to obtain a Ph.D. in this subject area.

With such an intimidating academic resume! it was only natural that opportunities would beckon. But not even the pressure. to stay back in England could sway him from returning to Nigeria .

His first port of call on arrival was the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR), Yaba. He was a lecturer as well as external examiner to a number of Nigerian universities, among them the University of Lagos , UNILAG and university of Benin, UNIBEN.

Dr. olukoya is on record as having been the first scientist to establish an indigenous Molecular Biology and Biotechnology laboratory in Nigeria. One important contribution by Dr. Olukoya to biotechnology and health care delivery is the creation of a new type of Pap (Ogi), named Dogik, a weaning food that has improved nutritional qualities that can control diarrhoea.

The laboratory also ranks among the first to done genes in Nigeria. Dr. Olukoya has supervised over 20 Ph.D. students, most of whom are doing well in their chosen fields. As a researcher, he has over 80 scientific publications to his credit.

Notwithstanding his exploits on the academic turf, he devotes much of his time to God through preaching, delivering papers at seminars, singing etc. That Dr. Olukoya would become a mighty tool in the hands of God to serve as a vehicle of deliverance for his generation manifested in 1989, when Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries was given birth to in his sitting room at Yaba, with 24 worshippers.

And like the story of the acorn seed that metamorphosed into the great oak tree with several branches providing nests to all birds of varied proportions, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, with only 18 years presence, has exponentially own to be found in several parts of the world, even as 2007 has been expressly declared by the General Overseer as the year for evangelism.

MFM has thousands of branches spread across Nigeria , Africa and Asia . A huge percentage of branches are also located in the United States and Europe . The Ministry is noted for its unique, powerful prayers that are fast redefining the major strategic input that puts the devil and his cohorts in the most bemused of confusion.

MFM headquarters is the largest single congregation in Africa , with attendance of over 120,000 in single meetings. It is a ministry devoted to the revival of apostolic signs. Holy Ghost fire, miracles and the unlimited demonstration of the power of God word to deliver to the utmost. Absolute holiness is preached within and outside as spiritual prerequisite for heaven.

Dr. Kolawole Daniel Olukoya is anointed by God with an uncommon gift and finds expression as a prophet, evangelist, teacher and preacher of the word of God. In addition to his over 80 scientific publications, he has written more than double that number of spiritual books, 150 of them, most of which are bestsellers. PRAYER RAIN, a prayer manual which has become a companion of not a few Christians across several denominations, has sold millions of copies. Besides, Dr. Olukoya has 70 Christian songs that he has composed. His amiable life and that of his wife, Pastor Shade and their son, Elijah Toluwani, are living proof that all power belongs to God.

Is this what you call an impressive CV? Rubbish, 80publications, 20Ph.D students, is that all? So 70 christian songs? Tell him I love Dbanj's scapegoat and Olivertwist and do not need his old Amazing Grace!

I am working with a dude with over 1200 publications and who have supervised 119PhD. A highly intelligent fellow who does not give a damn about this nonsense of a thing you call omnipotent, omniscience and omnipresence.

If you want, I can write an article to deconstruct Olukoya's so call achievements and arrive at conclusion that his achievements support the notorious fact that God does Not exist.

ramalot:

Lets assume we all agree that god exists, the question is WHICH god are we referring to. coz i can name at least 60. As every religion has its own god, you absolutely can not talk about god without addressing religion. So, kindly answer the question posed to you. WHICH god are you talking about? And if your stand is that there is only ONE god, then is it your christian god, or one of the numerous others. These are very simple questions.
cold:

Where did I mention religion?Stop prevaricating & indulging in equivocation. My question is, just in any event it flew past your superior intellect the first time is; 'are all G/gods the same'? Or more appropriately, 'is the belief in a god sufficient?Simple as.I'd appreciate you don't go skirting around the issue & evading my question. It's simple & straight forward,at least to my 'brain washed, bleached skull'
Mr cold and Mr ramalot, I can see your brain sizes are equivalent to your peanut-sized ideologies. So let me address you in the manner you want to be addressed.
Starting with you, cold. You asked me I should tell you the "specific" God you would serve amongst the, in your words, Hindu, Islam, Buddist Gods, right? Good. What are those words mentioned? Incase you didn't hear me the first time, they are RELIGIONS. Christianity, Islam, Buddism, Judaism---all these were man-made tenets incorporated by man and known as religion. Now, for your 411, there is a wide gap between religion and belief. Religion is like a culture, a way of life while Belief is a personal obligation, an acceptance of a possibility and/or aspect of life. That is the problem with you atheist lot, you are SO confused that you mix up ideas and sink further into ignorance. Religion and Belief are two seperate things! A very good scenario is this:
Mr A was born into a Christian home. His parents are both pastors in church. He was baptized and bears a christian name. He attends church everyday and is also aspiring to be a pastor. But he has never for once knelt down to pray and accept Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior, asking to be forgiven of his sins and redemption.
Mr B was born into an atheist family. His parents never talked about God neither did care to. Mr B lives a life of unbelief until he sees a Bible lying somewhere. He starts to read it and someone(n.b, not necessarily a pastor) explains the Word to him. His eyes become open, and his heart accepts this Word. He askes God to come into his life and change him, that he BELIEVES He is God and Creator of the Universe.
Now who amongst these two do you think is religious and a believer?
Use your brain @romalot. Religions, just like culture, are different. We are all different people in this world, everyone have different modes of worship. In my opinion, there is only one God. There's nothing like a Hindu God, Islamic God. That, is what is the cause of all these problems today in the world, more raving, less understanding"
Have I finally answered your questions, kiddos?

ProudUSA:

Atheist: Such a shame, you wasted your life on a belief rather than enjoying yourself. That's what makes me more intelligent.

Old lady: Do you believe there's a Being Who created our universe, life & our entire existence?

Atheist: Hah, such tales of old. No, I don't believe in such an unproven hypothesis of the existence of a Creator.

Old lady: Ah, I do. Do you believe humans will be capable of producing artificial intelligence or artificial life putting together existing resources over time?

Atheist: Yes, I do. That's being proven by science.

Old lady: So do I. Do you believe there could be other life more intelligent and advanced than humans in the universe?

Atheist: Yes I do. Science strongly points to that possibility.

Old lady: So do I. That means you can't be more intelligent than I.

Atheist: Yes I am, I don't believe in an imaginary Being who created the universe.

Old lady: No, instead you believe there's other life in the universe more intelligent and advanced than the humans who you believe can produce artificial intelligence or artificial life. What exactly are you saying?

Atheist: What?

Old lady: You just said you believe other beings can produce intelligence or life in a more advanced way than humans. That means they too would have others better than them. In the end you'd arrive in just one Perfect Source producing all existence. I'm intelligent enough to recognize the One, the Source of All Goodness.

Atheist: Er, , but you can't prove the existence of that One Being and sooner or later science will produce artificial life not just growing DNA, genes and stuff, and we'll contact extraterrestrial aliens.

Old lady: Hehehe, that's amusing. Sort of like two viruses in a Petri dish with one telling the other humans don't exist because you can't see humans or prove their existence within the universe of the Petri dish. It can't even see the microscope examining them.

Atheist: No, I cannot believe your life can be better than mine!

Old lady: Ah, poor, poor young fellow. Cast out in the middle of the ocean with nothing in sight but water & the clear sky, you'd give up hope & drown. I'd pray & have hope.

awesome!! cool cool

@topic posters as much as I believe in God and find claremont and ogaga4luv amusing I must say these guys have a point! Too many christians in here oo! I believe in God NOT religion but ive studied enough religious texts to know that blasphemy is not just criticising God BUT USING HIS/HER NAME IN VEIN! So many of you religious folks pay so much attention to the pastor a nd what they say that you dont seek to have a relationship with God on your own. Had you done so and READ YOUR TEXT you would know God is not about man comdeming the other man in his name. By calling nonbelievers 'fools' and 'anti-christ' you've become no different from these Boko Haram guys. Pray for non believers and give them advice but never you argue with them becuase faith is not a contest, it should come naturally and patience is definitely a virtue. I smile when ppl bring evolution and anti-God arguments to me. Its not my place to chastise them and take it personal. Quoting scriptures lol and claiming God will strike them down is ludicrous and comical. Its such hilarious actions that cause God to be mocked and challenged. Learn what being a christian or muslim; is before you try to educate others on them because some of you have NO clue!

Re: Christmas Bombings: God Is Powerless! by Nobody: 4:00pm On Dec 31, 2011
Folaski, there is nothing silly about it and there is nothing like religious war. It's you folks Christians and Muslims  that are fighting each other. I have no religion, no creed and do NOT believe in the existence of God, the omnipotent, omniscience and omnipresence, whatsoever. I don't threaten , I don't kill and do not harbor any iota of intention to kill. But this is my belief, logical and real:

Heavens is a concoction, hell is a fluke, paradise does not exist and the concept of God's existence is fraudulent. Evidence abound around us. Please see beyond bayooooooo and look at your pastors going with bodyguards around themselves. Does that not contradict omnipotency of God? Ask questions. Your pastor or imam using your money to buy jets, cars, whatever and you're sold dummy that your enjoyment is in paradise. Think, think my sweety darling, if only you could just think!

As for Boko Haram, I am clearly different from them. They believe in Allah and as matter of fact, are fighting for him. I do Not believe in allah or any God whatsoever. So there is no point fighting for one.

Now that write up is utterly stu.pid. How are you different from boko haram? Going about inciting people with such a headline and thread.
Can you tell me where in the bible Christians are excluded from being persecuted or mocked? In fact Christians are told times without number you shall be persecuted and mocked for your religion, like how the atheists keep on mocking Christianity here. Are those lies? Are Christians not being mocked or persecuted? Continue aiding and abetting mocking, after all you're only fulfilling prophecies.

Re: Christmas Bombings: God Is Powerless! by amnestylaw(m): 6:49pm On Dec 31, 2011
When it comes to the issue of god, most Nigerian and all other people, believe in his or her existence. That everybody believes in the existence of something does not make that thing real if not backed by knowledge and tangible evidence. Today, I am going to call my parents over the phone to say Happy New year to them. I believe they live still but I do not know. I will know when I hear their voice over the phone. I may not even believe it until I see them to be sure they are really the ones speaking to me on the phone. That I believe that they are alive does not mean they are alive. We need to realise that we were born into a society driven by belief in the supernatural but we need real tangible evidence to prove they exist. A god, if she or he exist would be so kind and loving to prove to everyone that he loves his children by averting the Xmas day bombing and many other terrorist activities worldwide. Thank god I am a Humanist.

A fish does not know what water is until its out of it

i imagine a little fish in a boasting in argument among its peers

that there is nothing like water

the day it gets caught in the fisherman's net or washed ashore

it would know that he was only existing because there s water

"In him we live and move and have our being" (Acts 17:28)

There is, beyond the azure blue
A God, concealed from human sight
He tinted skies with heav'nly hue
And framed the worlds with His great might

There is a God (There is a God), He is alive (He is alive)
In Him we live (In Him we live) and we survive (and we survive)
From dust our God (From dust our God) created man (created man)
He is our God (He is our God), the great I Am (the great I Am)

There was a long, long time ago
A God whose voice the prophets heard
He is the God that we should know
Who speaks from His inspired word

Our God, whose Son upon a tree
A life was willing there to give
That He from sin might set man free
And evermore with Him could live

I commend you all, both supporters and againsters. But hear this "Nobody will talk beyond the level of his understanding. It's only a fool that claims to know all. On this thread, I believe we should all use this as opportunity to know the unknown. One might be a Xtian for years and not realise that he is in bondage of myths. Let us give our lives a second thought and realise that most of what we are being told are human mind fabrications. I dont care what name given, there is a spiritual force that dominates the earth and designed humanity to function in the capacity of his brain. The name God is from human mind. All d stories in bible and quran are human formations. The wise ones propagate the myths at the expense of the fool. The fundamental problem of nigeria is religion. There is nothing Xtianity and Islam can offer Nigeria, it is deception. Going to church or mosque is the biggest mistake one can find himself because the most successful people are not religious. All inventors never became religious before producing computer, cellphone, etc. They preach lies that Jesus is able to protect if born again. Now, quite numbers of born again lost their lives in Bomb blast. What a disappointing Jesus? The point on this thread is fake Jesus and not God. There is a spiritual force called God.
