OK now a new challenge for me. Say I have a cracked app or ipa file and I want to install it on the iphone how do I go about it? I'm thinking I'll just upload the file from my pc (using iFile by the way) into the Applications folder on the phone but how I'm I sure the files will be installed afterwards? In essence what I want to find out is how to launch IPA files on the iphone.

It all depends on what you want, but here are my favourites:

cydia (dot) hackulo (dot) us ----> Best place to download your installous, AppSync and their dependecy libraries
repo (dot) insanelyi (dot) com---> I'm still looking for a way to eliminate it due to many theme updates, but get many good tweaks too.
sinfuliphonerepo (dot) com

Most of the repos will give you same thing, you may even limit your additional repos to two.
Hundreds of Theme updates are the main cause of your data consumptions on Cydia, hence avoid repo with tonnes of themes.

if u dont want to use itunes and u have installous. Just get any windows app that can access the iphone root folder eg iphone explorer.
Put the cracked ipa in the folder var/user/mobile/installous/downloads. Once it is done, open installous u will see it under downloads then install it.

U can also use ifiles to move the ipa to the installous downloads folder if u have the ipa file already on ur phone

I ran into some hiccups while trying the windows method thats why I went for iFile. I have Winscp on my pc but when I try to login using the ip address on the iPhone the session times out. Dunno whether something is wrong with the wifi I connect to.
iFile seems more straight forward though, I can easily view the file contents on my phone with it. Uploading is also easy, what I don't get is how one can move files to different folders with iFile - I don't know where (if there are any) copy and paste features.

I got solution finally to the iPhone-4, the battery is dead, (even when it is showing over 90%, no matter how I charge it after I squeezed her out of sleep mode) hence it can't boot, with no re-boot, it can't complete restore. Booting itself take chunk of the battery power, with insufficient power from the battery the CMOS shut the phone.

I was able to solve all my file transfer problems using i-FunBox. Its a much simpler tool to use than WinSCP, just download and install and your are in. It works with your iphone's usb cord, no need for IP addresses or wifi. A very simple yet effective tool.

Already have ifile from Cydia. Other than the upload file feature I didn't see where to copy or delete files on it. Anyways as I mentioned earlier i-FunBox is what I use. Works like a charm.

So the drifta still does nt work in the jailbroken devices, I read somewhere that there is an app in cydia xcon or somefin, that allows u 2 by pass such restrictions, but I don't think drifta works for it, but I hear that the person who made the app said that there is room 4 innovations, ie, if we bombard the makers of the xcon with mails.,,they wld look into it
