Who did this to us in Nigeria.

Why are the DISCOs always allowing the power outages, why do they always cut the power at the slightest indication of rainfall and it takes several hours or days before they restore the power, it's just because they know that either they supply the power or not their income or salary won't be affected. The DISCOs as bodies even make more money when they fail to supply power to the people because they know that alot of their customers are still using the estimated billing system which is not based on actual power consumed.

The solution to all these nonsense is for the authorities concerned to make sure every household consuming electricity is compulsorily provided with prepaid electricity meter. Let this era of work or no work salary go come end. Until this is done in Nigeria power outages will remain.

cool

Some people where born retardds and bitter so FG must endeavor to properly explain to very foolish bitter Nigerians carefully especially on this thread..

*It's not compulsory to use the app for reporting outages you can go physically to their offices

Nigeria Power Sector is divided into three Companies

Generating Company (Private Company)
Transmission Company(PPP)
Distribution Companies(Private company)

Generating Company has Production capacity of 7000mega watt installed capacity of 13,000 Mega watt

TCN has installed Capacity of 8100 megawatt

Distribution Companies have capacity of 4094 Megawatt

Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC)
Monitors amount of Electricity Generated Weekly and Supplied to customers so as to protect customers

Discos make more profit simply selling electricity to Niger republic, Togo, Benin

Nigerians don't love to pay for electricity so Discos don't supply to full capacity to prevent loss

This app is to monitor who has power and where, for how long, so that NERC can approach Discos with fact

..

Let's analys this Generating company produces 7000mw and distribution company can only distribute 4094mw isnt that already a shortage, almost 3000mw can't be distributed ??why isn't that resolved before lunching an app

Are you people mad in this country?

Why do we just keep majoring in trifles? What is the essence of a power outage reporting App when the power itself is largely non-existent? Does NERC and the FG require daily reports from citizens to know that Nigerians are lacking electricity? This is the only country where the slightest indication of rainfall amounts to total blackout, for reasons they have never bothered to explain to the populace. It's currently raining in Gwarimpa Abuja, and the power has been out for over 2hours now. By the time the rain fades, it's going to take another two days for AEDC to dry high tension cables and transformers .

Instead of prioritising electricity improvement, una dey launch App to report unavailability of light. E be like na Ogun wan kill una papa!

O ti ya werey ni..😡?!

It has been fully privatized

You as a private citizen can invest, your state government can invest

NERC is just like the Refree in a match regulating conduct of vendors and customers

Stop playing please. This is wuruwuru to the answer like we used to say in the days. You don't need to report power disruptions. It's not the citizens job. You don't even need to go around cutting cables of defaulters. Fellow developing countries are already able to monitor each individual's usage and payment. If you don't pay, your light simply goes off.

They know that few people will download and have access to this so called app that they'll use millions to create. Yet fewer people will report outages because it's pointless. Then they'll tell us that only 2000 people reported outages in 4th quarter 2024 compared to 2nd quarter 2023. All these statistics scope that they use for GDP and co to deceive everybody. It seems that the power sector is not ready yet if this is their next step.

Nigeria needs 33,000mw and we can only distribute 4094mw and you are going to do an app to check blackout...were NERC expecting the 4094 to go round before

They’re not talking about me and you. They’re talking about their elitist friends living in Ikeja GRA and Ikoyi. They actually have close to 24/7 electricity in those environs.

When has the Nigerian govt ever done anything for the masses? Lol

My question exactly! After reporting, what next? Will they suddenly develop good manner, apologise and restore power? Nansense!
Shebi the reporters will even have light to charge and power their phones before accessing the kain app?!
AllBlack:
But they don't need app to carry ladder and move to EVERY SREET for disconnection.

so, we should start opening app to FILL FORMS & WRITE REPORTS if there is power outage by 1am in the morning? What next after that?
