Any normal human being knows, the road project is a non-critical and resources draining venture given the condition of the country at this time. Only fuulls will not understand the waste; but of course, dead brains are more in number in this country.

Before doing such a project, you carry out a geotechnical test to know the depth to competent soil to anchor your foundation (Dave Umahi knows this). If you need to pile the area to anchor a competent foundation, you do it. If you see it is more economical to route the road elsewhere due to incompetent soil, you do it.

The truth is, this road can't be constructed in the ocean. Some places in Bayelsa, Delta and Rivers State respectively don't have shorelines like Lagos state. From Bayelsa to Delta state through East West road has over 10 bridges with creeks on the both side of the road if you are heading to Warri from Yenegoa.

There is no land anywhere and it is even worst in River State. There is no shoreline to accommodate any coastal highway.

I have been asking Tinubu minions to show me where this road project will pass through in Rivers State but nobody has come forth with an answer.

You are a proper Yoruba to yourself on faceless social media. When I was in the University in IBO land several years ago, Kwara students don't attend ODUA students meetings because they don't want to be seen as identifying with Yorubas. I begged them to join us they refused. Some of them claim Fulani in Abuja and Kaduna. It is only in Lagos and faceless social media they claim to be Yoruba.

I spent 6 years in IBO land in the University, if this project were to be in the North, no IBO dead or alive can have the audacity to say this nonsense that irrelevant man is saying.

They are very ungrateful. That was how they killed Colonel Victor Banjo who designed Biafra war strategy and led IBOs to war against Nigeria .

No IBO dead or alive can stop that project.

Please, who asked you for all these useless talk? Lmao. Who are you exactly??

Show me where that road will pass through in Rivers State and name the area if you aren't a fraud like Thief'nubu.

If not for the fact that you are stupid you should have known that the design and route for the road is already done. Do you know more than construction companies? If anyone from the Niger-Delta comes across the thread, please remember that some of you voted for Peter Obi. Peter Obi has demonstrated he is against the progress of the Niger Delta communities. The bulk of the funds for running our economy comes from the Niger Delta. But he says a big project to criss-cross the Niger Delta is a misplaced priority.

Note that the US spent their way out of recession through the New Deal which focused on massive infrastructural development across board, including roads. There is no nation interested in progress that is currently not engaged in one form of infrastructural development or the other. But the one which is 60 years old overdue in Nigeria, Peter Obi is fighting it, simply because he lost election.

If he didn't build anything meaningful in Anambra, I think it is disingenuous to fight against something being built through the Niger Delta. Thanks to Tinubu's ingenuity, Lagos is undergoing massive infrastructural development and embarking on an audacious railway project which the likes of Rufai Oseni would condemn.

Peter Obi doesn't want the progress for the Niger Delta. He just wants to get the votes and use anti-developmental and archaic ideas to ruin this country completely.

Only vote for those who want progress to be in your land. With this tweet, Peter Obi has shown he is not interested in that.

As for the Landmark CEO who has been all over the place making noise, can he show us documents where the shorelines and beaches in his location were ceded to him? If he violated the right of way, it is evil for him to complain. The best thing to do was to meet and find ways to relocate his business or shift to an area where the coastal highway won't pass. When I travelled through Accra-Cape Coast highway, part of which was adjacent to the ocean, it was a beautiful sight with the blue waters! Guess what? Beaches still functioned!!

Just to add, a road network is also a delight for businesses. Food can easily be transported from rural areas to urban centers and those in rural communities would make good money.

But Peter Obi does not want this.

Someone that's an ethno-religious bigot to the core.. I shake my head for Yorubas that voted for the fraud in the last election. Had it been he won, most of them would have died from shock with the kind of hatred he'd have shown towards Yorubas.

Ask the mugu one thing he did in Anambra for good 8 years when he was Governor, he won't have any answers.

What obi is doing is political.

He knew with the ongoing construction of the coastal road from lagos to calabar underway.

His south south support base is already weakened.

I see your misunderstanding now.

Coastal highway does not mean it would be constructed on the ocean. It can also be constructed CLOSE to the sea. I suspect many of you always think of water when you hear the word "coast". Coast simply means land adjacent to water.
Coast: the part of the land adjoining or near the sea.
See map below:

You saw on the Internet that the road will be linked to East-West road? Please go and do more research on the new project, because it seems you're looking at the wrong side of the internet.

Your second paragraph is also unnecessary. Everybody knows the benefits of roads. I said, what is the benefit of a more expensive new road when the older one leading to the same destination has not been completed?

Also, I'm not going to indulge myself talking about Peter Obi with you. Because, it's a waste of time, based on your replies so far. Enjoy your evening!!
emkz:

I expect the new road to link to the East-West road. If designs I saw on the internet for the coastal highway are correct, then it is actually to link up with the East-West road. In other words, it is part of the same road.

You asked for the benefits of spending trillions on a road. Off the top of my head, the following are the benefits of a road infrastructure:
(1) Open up rural areas to industrialization by connecting rural areas to urban centers.
(2) Reducing commuting time for travellers.
(3) Enhancing the economies of local communities through job creation and trade.
(4) Enhancing cultural cocktails and boosting tourism potentials.
(5) Revenue generation through tolls in the long term.
(6) Reducing people's expenses. If I can drive to my office in Lagos in one hour and live somewhere accommodation is cheaper.

In a society towards urbanization, there is no such thing as too much roads. Peter Obi not knowing that is why he is unfit for leadership.

In short, you don talk am finish. Very sound logic.

So all these years, why have government not repaired all those bad roads since none of them wasted money on Lagos - Calabar coast highway?

Government shouldn’t have built new schools too when they can just repair the old schools and all our children can congest in that. Government should have developed new estates too, when they can concentrate on repairing old houses to make it beautiful.

They should show me where this road project will pass through in Rivers State and name the location..

Lagos shoreline is totally different from what is obtainable in Bayelsa, Delta and Rivers State. Travel and see things yourself.

Are they going to build the coastal highway on swampy mangrove forest or in the creeks?

.
interesting question
