4llerbuntu: do u work for apple?

do u know what brought about that apology. it was captioned apology

One of Nokia's promo videos detailing the video image stabilisation feature on The 902 was put online.

naturally, because they soaped/washed other peoples phones in their marketing rush, people paid attention and saw that in nokia's video there was the shadow of the guys taking the vid with professional cameras!! not the phone.

THE VIDEO NOKIA POSTED WAS SUPPOSED TO BE TAKEN BY THE 902 CAMERA.

caught red handed, nokia released that statement where they admitted to simulating what it will/may be like on the 902.

what is SIMULATING? define that one join grin grin grin

inshort they were demoing what a hyundai is capable of doing with a jaguar grin grin grin grin

its marketing, its lies.

just ask jesus for forgiveness for all that dictionary tripe u posted.

i do that for a living, using grammar obfuscate the truth btw.

But the phone in question was later used and the outcome was excellent. cool

at least you are honest enough to extend it to agreeing it was misleading.

anyway, :HINT: i have not made any mention of SGS nor compared it with any fone. you guys are simply hell bent on bringing other fones into this and are the ones doing the comparisons anyway

my reservations simply is don't let the marketing get the better of you.
turns out i was right!!

you know what i find interesting? its that they keep doing this hold it up to the cameras thingy and compare.

for one i think its classless. the tech blogs traditionally do this shyte, not the manufacturer. have you ever seen Apple hold up the iphone to any other phone?

secondly, if i had been the one doing this with an android fone, or any other phone, you would have branded me fanboy, i guess its safe to brand you a WP Fanboy too eh??

pls try to correct this your tagalong dudes, im am so not a fanboy. the reason i let you get away with it is because we have had an history debating android/WP/IOS/any other os in the world. and you know yourself that its not really like that.

the problem is these turds have turned it into a mantra, with absolutely no basis for doing so. even on political thread, na fanboy, android thread sef na still fanboy !!!!
therefore henceforth "i will go thermonuclear" grin tongue tongue on that lil ish.

miss that dude sha, he had charisma!.

This may not really pertain to this thread, but since this controversy came up lets just for a minute believe that all the talk about pureview on 920 is just a scam and that the camera is not better than anyother regular cam out there.

It surprising we would see two groups of people-
Group A- Nokia just shot itself in the foot. I really loved it when I saw it. This is the kind of innovation I want to see in flagships. I still look forward to see such tech on a smartphone.

Group B- Hahahaha. Nokia is dead. They can never produce anything good. I knew this was not possible on a lumia device when I saw it. Well I can never use a lumia. XXXX all the way.

I haven't said nothing yet. But it surprises me the way different people can view thesame thing.

Lil_Marshal: Y'all are all forgetting one thing, ANDROID PHONES ARE CHEAP. check out sg3, it cost 98k and 95k at some stores. WP7.5 phones are darn expensive and we not talking about when WP8 officially launches. Lets not even talk about IPHONES. we are Nigerians.

I don't think windows phones are generally available in Nigeria apart from the lumia 800 (correct me if I'm wrong)

But the pricing thing is not true cos all over the world, Nokia has been laughed at for underpricing wps just to attract buyers. It even halved its carrier price for lumia 900 after just 3 months and some others were almost free.

I just hope such pricing will come with this when its reaches 9ja. Will be good if its around 80-90k

It did be great to have that prize range here grin, but seeing the Purview 808 cost more than that shocked , quells all hope undecided . . . .

Lumia 900 Was released in the US only and it was very cheap but not the Lumia 800. check Jumia, it costs over 110k even tho it doesn't have nearly as much spec as SG2. SG3 cost 98k. thats smtin we should consider.

I agree with you on some points but definitely not the comparison part.

In todays world it of no use comparing smartphones without doing a comparison and its the manufacturers that are even behind it cos I don't think someone is going to buy a phone for 90k without thinking its the best.
Take a look at some of these
Nokia - Most innovative smartphone.
Apple- Most advanced smartphone.
Apple- Best app support with over Bleep apps.
These and a whole lot more were statements made by CEOs (esp Jobs) and manufacturers to show their devices were better than the competition.

You can look at it this way: 808 is considered the best camera phone cos its better than the competition in that area. This may not be so in 5 years afterall not to long ago, a 1.3MP cam on a phone was considered a superb innovation. Today its nothing.

So my point is that majority of talk on smartphones today is based on comparison. Afterall apple rose to fame by making people believe iphones were the best.

The 808 price tire me for what its got. I think the only reason to back it up was Nokia saying the cam stuff was too expensive.

Currently with windows phones, things have changed as MS and Nokia are ready to grow slowly with all the handouts Nokia gets from MS added to the fact that they don't pay royalties to use WP. Also Nokia has moved all manufacturing to Asia. I think all these should affect prices. It may still be priced around 98k just as S3.

Come to think of it, isn't this carrier stuff possible in Nigeria? It makes buying phones a lot easier.

No lumia 800 costs about 62k though I thought it would be around 50k when comparing it with how cheap it was is some parts of the world.

ol boy mba o. if i were you i wont pray for any carrier nonsense here o.

its only the initial price thats attractive o, if u hear the terms of the 2 yr contract and how much you have to pay cumulatively in the long run ehn! at times its more than double the retail non contract price!

even worse to cancel those contracts na die. inevitably you are stuck with using the same fone for two years.
plus you have to pay for insurance on the fone join

imagine signing one, and having the fone stolen the next week? mba o, all that glitters......

Am not certain if our pre-paid dominated market will robustly permit carrier - dependent benefits here . . .

Well thats true cos nothing really comes free.
If it was in 9ja everybody would be using flagships and disappearing after 2 months except if the terms of the contract are really strict. Even at that, people would still find a way to circumvent it

Interesting arguement from all.
Anyway, What is the point of all these?
Anyone that says Nokia/Lumia/W8 phone is not good enough should go and produce his own and show us!
Anyone who claimed iPhone/iOS is scrap should show us the one his or his village has produced!
Anyone who claimed Samsung/Andriod is a trash, sholud come with his or her own design!
Anyone who says, Blackberry/RIM is a failure should go and commit suiside! or better hug transformer!

Use the phone that meets your day-to-day needs and stop bragging.
How many people use all the function of most of the phone sef? Some people never exaust all features of Nokia 3310, they are talking about iOS/Andriod/W8

This is always root of racial discrimination. Abi, if we are venting like volcanic on non-living gadget that will be of less value in next 6 months, I just imagine what we happen if humans are involve. Atomic-Tribal-War

In as much as you made a very good and valid point about the need to use an OS that satisfies your peculiar need, i still feel you went overboard cos criticism is also part of the game.

Even the smart phone power horses diss themselves to score some good marketing and bragging right, then how much more the consumers who pay top cash consistently to use them . .

Users feedback or criticisms shapes the decision making processes of this companies cos it exposes their flaws and also extols their strong point . . .So it goes both ways . . .

They (smart phones vendors ) are into the business of profit making ,and hence must constantly be put under pressure not only to beat the competition, but to also satisfy the yearnings of the consumer . . .

ooooh That hardware, that hardware that hardware is orgamsic., totally worth killing for!!

as an aside, this phones are rectangular with rounded edges. lawsuit. i smell lawsuit grin grin grin grin grin

you know this may indeed turn out not to be good for Microsoft (NOT NOKIA) in some strange inverse way! wait dont bite!!!!

consider this:

im not sure if WP will really grab the needed market share with just nokia.

because its likely the other manufacturers may simply give up making WP phones,
to get a equally compelling device will take time! no contest!

another thing is the absence of budget versions and the pricing.

as much as it may catch your fancy, creating another fanboy base to buy highly priced phones like Apple is not gonna be easy. id say impossible unless apple loses marketshare.

and there is RIM to come, HOPEFULLY tongue blackberry fans say yaaaay!!!

as yet, other than an awesome camera, something they already proved with pureview 808, there is yet nothing to show that they can catch our attention on other levels which other platforms already excel.

Chai but nokia good for hardware sha!!!

worst of all, they do not seem to be playing the game well.

ITS A ADHD WORLD. these phones are nowhere to be found.

the announcement says details about availability and pricing will come in the 4th quarter, not that the phone will definitely be on sale then.

this week is nokia's week, by the next week it will be a distant memory, the buzz will be IOS 6 and Iphone 5. you will start seeing people queuing for Iphones like it was free!! grin grin

TEXAZZPETE WILL BE THE FIRST PERSON TO START A IPHONE 5 thread!! tongue tongue he is ready to order as i speak!!

Anyway, i can see samsung scrambling in korea, Guaranteed by January they will announce phones with OIS and whatever magic Nokia have in this phones!!!

incidentally, these phones will only be getting to market then! see where the Bleep up dey?
