Why the arguments, the bible simply says thou shall not make thee any graven image or the likeness of anything in heaven, on earth or in the waters beneath the earth. A formerly living object, now dead naturally has little or no relevance more than OTHER inanimate objects. Bowing in reverence to a dead piece of flesh - which evidently isn't a one-off act - compares favourably with bowing and/or kneeling before idols or a dead ancestor's grave expecting your action to mean something. they will come and tell that the meat is alive in god. Our Almighty God does not receive worship linked with dead meat. In truth and in spirit all the way. that is the message Christ brought to us from Him.

The use of relics has some, although limited, basis in sacred Scripture. In 2 Kings 2:9-14, the prophet Elisha picked up the mantle of Elijah after Elijah had been taken up to heaven in a whirlwind. When handkerchiefs or cloths which had touched his skin were applied to the sick, their diseases were cured and evil spirits departed from them" (19:11-12).
