Re: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by Nobody: 3:37am On Oct 15, 2008
@ all w3a viewers,
i was going through the free2view guys site and i was heart broken. That site has not been touched ever since the last pronouncement of new channels to be added. But what baffles me most is that there're some channels being advertised there to be be aired by them at the end of april 2008, MSNBC was among, a dedicated movie channel, GOD tv, and a cartoon tv. All i wanted to know is that when was MSNBC added to that package, i installed my w3a around april also and i met it, this can be answered by someone who have been hooked to that bird around for quite sometime now. Cos i remember as at this period last year, there's no MSNBC on lyngsat, i just saw that on lyngsat this year. And if we can remember again TPA1 was also added some few months back.
Should we all still be hoping this guys will fulfill their promise, or are there some obstacles place along their path by paytvs especially DSTV?

Seems like i'm tired of waiting for their so-called 40 stations, its better i go hook up for nilesat ooo,and to those who havent the space for bigger dish, may the 'deity of free-to-air' shower you a lot of patience to be able to wait till free2view fulfill their promise.
You can check on their site: http://www.free2view.co.za/

Yeah, MBC MAX is for real on NileSat, the advert has been on severally with bits of movie clips in between other MBC channels though it didn't make much sense then, until yesterday when the freq. and details of the channel was completely publicized. I just set up my new strong 4653X yesterday and with a blind scan MBC MAX was picked with the NileSat channels, for now only advert of the channel is what they show, hopefully in a day or two transmission of movies proper will commence.

Kudos to MBC (free to air for life)  wink

@eniitan

hw u dey? So u r leaving us abi? If not for the fact that it is for your own betterment, i for organize squad make dem come tie u down.

Concerning the free2view pple, I once posted my conclusion on them in season one. my conclusion from research is that the SA government has snuffed the life out of them. Reason been that they want to give FTA which must be a threat to some officials interest. You know african leaders buy up shares or kind of own these companies that flece their populace. So the SA authority says Free2view is Illegal to operate in SA and stopped them. The free2view pple in turn went to court but I dont think they had a favourable judgement. The MSNBC and others we are still seeing must be as a result of contract already signed so I dont want to imagine what will happen once the contract is over. except something positive happens to free2view.

@all

All of these are my opinions and is in no way represent the true nature of what is happening to free2view. So nobody should hold me responsible

@eniitan

That is a great post (http__www.sarl.org.za/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2010) by that guy. still trying to get the full impact of what he did. someone must get that crazy here. Dont u think so?

@F_Marshal

The receiver is Sonicview 4000. Thanks for the suggestion, but I have success in opening by trying what u said that i.e I was inputing 1234 by the time i leave the screen it will change to 123300 so i input 123400 no luck and I tried 001234 and it just opened. b4 this time I even changed from hex to dec but no success.

If ur decoder uses hex to convert use ur computer calculator, in the view menu just click on scientific. For hex enter the code in dec then just click hex it will change, for dec enter the code in hex use the letters below the numbers the click dec. its as simple as that

grin Glad to know it worked for ya!!! cool I never knew Sonicview Receivers were comaptible with the System over there in Nigeria. What Video format does it output to (PAL or NTSC)? Do you watch it using a multisystem TV or regular PAL TV? Do you have to use a converter for the power supply or is it automatic Voltage conversion? Any other person using a Receiver from America in Naija? Sorry for 20 questions! wink

i hurridly passed a cable to Mytv Dish mounted by my naibor using a dual LNB, after the blind scan i could not get any of ART, JSC and all those stuff i av read in this forum.
Re: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by Gangsta101(m): 10:46am On Oct 16, 2008
Arabambi,

seems you r reading with your eyes closed. there are several things for you to note;
1. there are several Free to view channels on the mytv position (intelsat 7/10 on 68 degree east), these include ETV, SABC and several religious channels.
2. MBC, JSC sports, Showtime, ART, are all different packages which broadcast on Nilesat on 7 degree west. (also on hotbird, badr and several others but definitely not on intelsat 7/10.
3. intelsat7/10 broadcasts primarily to this region, so u can receive their signal with a small dish= 60, 90cm. Nilesat broadcasts to the mid east and north africa so to receive it, u need a larger dish, depending on where u r.

hope this clarifies things for you a bit. if u feel u need more info, use the search function at the top of the thread, anything you feel u need to ask has been discussed before on the previous thread.

Adewest,

i see you are still not giving out detailed info. wish you would take the time out to be clearer about the things u r saying. for example, have you really tracked nilesat with a 1.8m dish in lagos? and what about the hotbird, what TPs did u track. would love to hear more from you.
Re: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by pitodenz(m): 10:58am On Oct 16, 2008
@ adewest
                i know what u re really doing is to call attention to yourself.In this thread all we needed is proof,u where saying something about 1.8m dish catching all the t.p in nilesat apart from cnn t.p in souther naija,and now is gamma card.My brother,if u can go back to the previous thread i mean part one of this thread u ll see where this showtime or dstv c-band has been discussed using card sharing receivers from asia.
           So,bro nothing is new to us here,if u call urself a tracker i dont think u can compete with badaru and so many of us here u work on this things on daily basis,so my advice is for u to read and learn from the house not making fuses all over this thread.U CANT DO WHAT SOMEONE HAS NOT DONE B4.
                                              i think i ve see this name(adewest)in hitv thread.
                                              maybe another urfriend from hitv popping in.
@ enitan
            o boy i no go 4give ooh if after today i no see that free gift in my mail box.

Re: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by kuka700: 11:31am On Oct 16, 2008
@all gurus in d house
wat do u think about duplicating/cloning a working pay tv card and using d clone card on another receiver to watch encrypted channels. An example: "lets say my neighbor is a dstv subscriber and has a working card, then i duplicate his card using a smart card writer". Now d questn is, do u think d duplicated card will be able to open d encrypted channels on my own receiver without subscribing?

Or, do you know any patch for this decoder to ope ETV?

Re: Official Thread of Free To Air Satellite TV (Part 2) by microgiant: 11:56am On Oct 16, 2008
@F_Marshal
Sonicview has auto detection it outputs both NTSC & PAL, but when patched because the software is programmed in / and designed for  North America (USA/Canada) they just use NTSC which is the format used there.  Almost all new TVs in Naija are multi-system , i use LG Flatron.  The voltage is auto 90v~250v.
